The Mormon City.

Advantages: An insight into a different culture and way of life.
Disadvantages: Strict alcohol laws, religious touts galour

...I visited Salt Lake City in 2002 with my friend, Melissa, who I met at University, and who I was staying with in Washington State at the time. Her aunt was having a mid life crisis after divorcing her husband at 50 something. Melissa's Dad decided it was a good idea if we went to visit her 'to cheer her up' and paid for our flights for a three day trip. A Lodge on the Lake

Advantages: Fantstic service and lovely lodges

Eden Lake

Advantages: Powerful horror, genuinely scary
Disadvantages: Sickening to watch

...It took me at least a week to come to a semi conclusion of how I felt about Eden Lake; it took me a few days at least to get over the initial shock and emotion felt by watching it. And I have to say that the film I am about to review is like nothing I have seen before. Eden Lake, is an English film directed by a man called James Watkins, I had never heard of the film nor the director and I was not that enthusiastic about watching it, but after a day moping about alone I wanted something scary to watch and it was in the horror section of my local movie shop at a price of £4 so I thought I would give it a watch. The Lakes: Quiet and Serene?

Advantages: Brilliant acting, great storylines and scripts
Disadvantages: Lack of extras on the DVD lets this set down

A Lake with a myth - Lake Kournas, Crete

Advantages: Beautiful clear freshwater lake, need a car to get there
Disadvantages: expensive sun loungers and large slippery stones to negotiate before being able to swimg

...? definitely recommend water shoes for this visit in future. It was nice to have a beach with no waves and fresh water as the boys were not too keen on the salt water splashing in their eyes. We hired a pedalo which looked like a car. They had large ones with slides attached as well but we wanted one for all six of us under a sun shade so the car one was chosen. ( 7 Euros a half hour) We pedalled across the lake ? easy going out but the current/wind was against us on the way back and it was extremely hard work and took twice as long to return. My daughter and son-in-law jumped off to have a swim and my husband joined them. When I saw how difficult it was to climb back in I was glad that I volunteered to stay with the grandsons. Lo Salt - High taste!

Advantages: It's healthy

...I started buying Lo Salt quite a few years ago and quickly got used to the product and never changed back to normal salt. I did not have a specific reason to support my change, I simply wanted to lead a healthier life and seeing my dad always over-using salt when he cooks really made me think I did not want to follow the same pattern in my day to day living. I certainly do not enjoy bland food but I got so much used to not using much salt that for example if I boil veggies or potatoes I do not mind having any salt in them, I woud mind though having to eat pasta without it especially as you cannot add it once this has been cooked, you can only add it while you are in the process of boiling it otherwise you are absolutely ruined!! A great lake in a great city

Advantages: Calm, peaceful - lively at night - great amount of food stalls
Disadvantages: Sometimes have to face a lot of traffic when you leave

...Lagoa De Freitas, as it is usually called, is a really cool place in Rio just to hang-out and chill. It is the Carioca equivalent to Central Park in New York. Getting there can not be easier - just follow any of the main roads from Copacanaba, Leblon or Ipanema. There are plenty of car parks around, which usually cost a flat-rate of R$2, and you can keep the ticket for the whole day, which means you can usually park somewhere else around the lake later, or even in any other on-street parking point in the vicinity. During the day you usually find people jogging, running, walking or cycling around the Lagoa, as it is a pleasant location for doing this if you do not want to bump into the tourists and sunbathers at the beach.
