Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Advantages: Another great Saw Doctors album

This is another of their well know albums and also around the time they started going outside of Ireland to try and break into different countries music charts. ...could literally check in and order a vodka and coke at the same time talk about cosy. Once we pressed the bell two gentleman came to the desk and asked our name they then located our details on the computer and confirmed what we had booked which was nice and seemed efficient. I then asked if it possible to upgrade to a seafront room as this wasn't an option on hotel pronto. The man serving looked at me gone out and said erm no sorry they are all full. I didn't believe him I got the impression it was either to much hard work to swap our details or he just didn't know how to sort it out as he just passed us an already made up key card with room number. It is slightly further out just opposite the Castle Bill Bill and when you cross the road it?s a flat walk all the way to the marina which is away from the large hills on which many of the other hotels are located. Reception On arrival check in was swift and at this time we opted to pay for a safety deposit box we were then handed the safe key and card key to room 524 and pointed in the direction of the lifts. A hotel with a TARDIS!

Advantages: great bar, and lobby.
Disadvantages: upstairs like a throwback to the sixties.

The day came, and after work we ditched the kids with the babysitter (my mum.), and set off for Dublin. I live in northern ireland, yet the drive down only took aroun two hours.
