...I own this phone and i got it when it first came out at the end of last year some time. I got it on contract with Orange, so i can't really comment on what the price/value of the phone was. But, as with most contract phones, the handset was free and was delivered free of charge. LOOKS - When i first saw this phone, i thought it looked quite nice and compact, with the very slim and sleak stylings that was widely talked about and advertised on tele. Advantages: Stylish design. Easy to use. Simple menus. Takes good photos/video. Sliding mechanism works well.
Disadvantages: Accidental button presses. Light remains on when charging. Vibrates too much when battery is dying.

...After reading a lot of reviews when trying to buy a new phone recently, I finally settled on the D900 on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm glad I did. It's sleek and stylish and packed with many features which I'm still discovering nearly 3 months on. The design itself is very nice, and it's easy to handle. The key pad is nicely spaced out, the only downside being the lip at the bottom of the pad - people with bigger hands may find using the bottom 3 numbers a problem. ...This is a really stylish looking phone, it is really thin but it is quite wide but is also quite light. It is available in chrome, black or pink - it is different on different networks. Over all I think this is a good phone but it does have its down points such as it breaks very easily. I dropped a glass next to it and a small piece of glass about 1-2 inches big bounced onto it, and the whole phone broke, it wouldn't even turn on, I think that was really bad and a phone shouldn't break that easily - especially thinking how good old phones used to be, you could do anything to them and they wouldn't break! The phone has a slide up feature which you can set to answer a call if you want. The buttons are quite large which is good for texting. ...I have owned the Samsung D900 for just over a year now and I have to say in my opinion this handset is one of the very best currently available on the market. ...I basicly brought this phone as a cheaper alternitive to the D900 but having said that it is not a bad phone. Sleek in style and did have all the features in a phone that I was looking for, it is not really that different to the D900 apart from it's mermory cap and the fact that the touch key pad is sentive to the touch and juring use of the phone the canel button or call button can be easily caught by accident making over all useage abit of a challenge, texting is mostly what I find difficult as brushing your finger over the cancel button will delete some writen text if not all, thankfully it will not call out if it is in your pocket as the phone will not operate unless it is fully open, it doent have a key lock as such but is key locked if the phone is shut. Camera is good quality for a 2 MP and I am pleased with my pictures...

Disadvantages: Terrible touchscreen, awkward operation and generally rubbish!

In areas where I know reception should be good, this phone won't connect. When I was sold this phone in the shop I was told the Opera internet system was excellent and rivalled the iPhone's internet access. In reality it is slow and clunky, and I prefer to use the slightly better but not brilliant Interent Explorer on the phone. The internet runs very slowly on this phone - since getting it I have replaced it with a Samsung Tocco which is lower down the range but much faster at connecting and running on the internet. ...I have been using this particular phone for almost a year now, as well as having used Samsung phones in the past for some time.
