Digimax 800k - a little gem!
Review of Samsung Digimax 800k by
Goldenferret
Advantages: Inexpensive; easy to use; fine for emails and webpages
Disadvantages: Lack of screen; too basic for most non-web applications
...I bought the Samsung Digimax 800k digital camera as I was a complete beginner in digital photography and wanted to get a general idea of what it is all about without spending too much money.
I have had the camera nearly a year and am very impressed with it. By today's standards the resolution (which determines the picture sharpness) is very low, however the picture quality from the Digimax suggests a much higher resolution. This makes it ideal for taking photos to send by email and for posting on web-pages. If you intend to use your digital camera mainly for printing photos from your PC, you would be better off spending a lot more money on a higher-spec camera (and photo-quality printer), but the Digimax gives reasonable results with an ordinary printer on ordinary paper (as long as you don't want to frame them!)
The camera is very easy...

A Camera of excellent value for money
Review of Samsung Digimax 240 by
NigelHaddow
Advantages: Easy to download
Disadvantages: Short battery life
...of something which is out of site and then check the LCD to see what is happening.
The software on the PC is very easy to use. Just plug in the camera and Digimax Viewer automatically leads you through the process. The only "problem" I have is that MGI photo-suite beats the Samsung DIgimax Viewer to it and takes over with Digimax viewer popping up haveway through the process to have a go too!...

My Review on the U-CA 505
Review of Samsung Digimax U-CA 505 by
sexyfufu
Advantages: Stylish Lighweight and very small
Disadvantages: When using zoom picture looks awful
...My first impressions of this camera is how Stylish, Lightweight and small it is.
The Camera its self as lots of features, its got 5.0mp, 5x digital zoom, 2.0 colour ftf montior, superb 6cm macro and 9 photo frames.
It takes about 2 1/2 hours to charge the battery up from dead which i think is pretty impresive.
The Camera came with a nice leather case, User manual, Camera Strap, Lithuian Battery, Battery Charger and the Software Cd.
Included on the software cd is Digimax Viewer 2.1, Digimax Reader and Photo Impression 4.
The Photo Impression 4 Software is really good and really easy to use, you can adjust your photos and even get rid of red eye.
The Menu Navigation button on the Camera takes you round all the features and really is easy to use.
The only disadvantage i have of this camera is that when you zoom in the picture quality...

Digitally mastered.....maybe
Review of Samsung Digimax 800k by
lyntmirh
Advantages: Unfussy, light, quick and simple to use
Disadvantages: Not good print quality
...The Digimax 800 was bundled with my new PC so I didn't reckon it much to start with.
Using it for the first time on holiday in Thailand I was really surprised by the ease with which it took pictures in some really varied situations and, when I downloaded onto the hotel computer I was mostly impressed with the quality of the images.
OK, so the sharpness leaves a bit to be desired and, sometimes, the focus isn't quite right (probably down to my own ineptitude in using the autofocus which depends on the old 'hold the button half down' method) but, all in all I got over 60 images (on the 8mg chip)that were good enough for viewing on the PC and for emailing friends.
The Digimax is, probaly, about the cheapest digital on the market with any resolution and I think that it makes an ideal introduction to the digital 'scene' without too much...

Samsung digimax s700
Review of Samsung Digimax S700 by
frog159
Advantages: camera video 7.2 megapixel 2.5" LCD
Disadvantages: shutter speed
...The Samsung Digimax S700 is a great 7.2 mega pixel camera with a large 2.5" LCD display, 3 x optical and 5 x digital zoom, video recorder, and much more brilliant features.
Design: The design of this camera is sleek and sophisticated, with a large 2.5" LCD screen, and the brand and camera name printed on the front. The casing is silver, with a leathery bit next to the lens. On the top of the camera is the power button, and the settings button, on this bit there a eight settings. Next to this there is a speaker, so you can record sound on the video as well as play it back. This camera is quite heavy for its size (around 3" x 2") at 136 grams. The digimax S700 takes AA batteries.
Camera: This has is a 7.2 megapixel camera with 15 x total zoom, and night mode settings. It will tell you if the room is too dark, so you know when to put...

Hmmmmmn
Review of Samsung Digimax 800k by
andyandyandy
Advantages: Cheap, small
Disadvantages: poor flash
...The Digimax has now come down in price to around £100 (Curreys were selling it for £150, but dropped the price to £95 without a quibble when I told them I could get it elsewhere for that)
Picture quality is fine but the flash is less than brilliant. The camera is very light dependant, takes great pictures in good light (100ASA rating), but it's decidedly iffy in poor light. The flash has a very limited range, get too close and it's whiteout, too far away and you don't notice it was switced on - stated range is 1.3 -2 metres which aint much!
Picture resolution is 1024X758 which is good and daylight photography works fine, but 'candid' indoor photography is a bit more tricky.
The camera takes a 3.3v smart card and a 16MB one (2MB supplied) will store around 120 pictures. (NB Jessops own brand card is ~ £20 for 8MB)...

The Worlds first and best Camera with PMP
Review of Samsung Digimax I6 PMP by
irvinesrule
Advantages: small, easy to use, great quality, multi functional pmp player
Disadvantages: none
...Silver Samsung Digimax I6 pmp camera.
Just had this little treasure of a camera for 3 weeks and I'm so IMPRESSED ! I bought it for £129.99 and was simply looking for a 6 megapixel camera which took great pictures, but what I received was a small camera with a huge bundle of goodies built into it. The world's first camera with PMP (Portable multimedia Player) which means it can play video, mp3 files and take superb quality shots.
I'm not an expert photographer but the camera is so easy to use. I didn't even have to look at the manual to take my first photographs or video. The quality of photographs and video was exactly what I needed. Loading of my first 50 great quality photographs on to my PC took only a few minutes and was so simple to use. I have tried all the different settings such as portrait and in particular I...
