Snappy happy with the Samsung Digimax Duo camera

Disadvantages: no screen, no add on memoery, older model so hard to find

...Ok I am now going to go into unexplored territory today by telling you all about the digital camera I have use of. It is not mine, it is my boyfriend?s camera and he got it for Christmas two Christmases ago. I use it quite a lot so feel I am able to comment on it. The model in question is the Samsung Digimax 50 Duo camera. What is it? It is a fairly simple digital camera which is so easy to work. It is also a lovely compact size being only 3.6x2.6x1.4 inches and weighing only 4.2oz.4 so it is easy to carry around with you. It can also be used as a low resolution webcam with 12 images per minute. However I have never used it for this purpose so can not comment on this. Digimax D103 - WOW!

So I thought it about time I invested in a digital camera with which I could see the quality of the pictures before I actually got them printed. Although there are many other digital cameras with more Megapixels, bigger zooming capabilities, this camera is still regularly used and I have no intention of purchasing another anytime soon. ...It's been years since we've taken so many photgraphs, but the picture quality and ease of use of the Samsung Digimax 410 means that you take the camera with you more of the time. It's all those extra features which make the 410 so versatile, the 3x optical zoom (there's also 2x digital zoom), macro mode , movie mode, the timer etc. Like most digital cameras, the price has been slowly falling. We paid £300 in December 2002. We bought an additional 128Mb compact flash card, for £30, which will hold 104 images at full resolution (the 410 comes with a 32Mb CF card, which will hold 26 images),which we've found is more than enough for most family outings. ...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen

So you may have noticed that this is a netbook and be wondering what this exactly means...a netbook is a smaller, lighter weight laptop that is simply designed to handle internet browsing, e-mail and office software. The question I was asked by my wife before she picked this little gadget up was would this be able to play games? The answer is yes but of a limited variety as this is not designed with the same level of specs in as a normal pc or laptop (you would also need to purchase a cd or dvd drive for if you are looking at playing games that use a cd).
