...I really like Samsung products. I own a samsung TV and so the natural choice for a DVD player was a Samsung model. When you buy a new HD TV it is natural to think you then need to buy a HD DVD player. These can cost you a pretty penny and the HD DVD's themselves will cost over £20 each. If you are like me then you have a decent amount of normal DVD's that you still want to be able to play but you want to enjoy them on your new HD TV. This DVD player will upscale your DVd's that you already have. That means it will play your DVD's in the highest possible quality on your TV. There is a catch however. Firstly you need to check your TV. Is it really Full Hd? There is a difference you see between HDTV's and full HD Tv's. A HD tv can run at 1080i. This means whilst it can be classed as High definition it is not the best quality...

Samsung TV perfect companion

Advantages: Size, Upscaling and Sound Quality
Disadvantages: Remote control, menu system keeps forgetting settings...

...This Samsung 1080p DVD player is the perfect companion for any of the latest Samsung LCD and Plasma TV's. We currently own the Q96 Plasma model and the F1080 fits just under the TV, it is smaller than the stand on the TV. But it has all of the features of the chunkier 1080p dvd players. Another plus to Samsung customers is that it has the Anynet+ function, meaning you can use the tv remote to control the DVD player. This is suggested as the remote control that you get supplied with the DVD is too small and useless in my view. There are a few firmware faults with this model, for example it sometimes won't play a DVD on initial startup and you have to restart the player as it just blue screens. Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad

...button under touchpad - Resolution could be higher VERDICT Overall, I think the Samsung NC10 is an excellent laptop. I like the look of it, the performance, the keyboard, the connectivity options and even the battery life. I would prefer for it to have Draft N wireless and maybe for it to be a bit lighter but those are minor niggles. One thing I would have liked is a higher resolution, even if the 1024 x 600 is perfectly usable, a higher one would give more flexibility in how well certain content is displayed on the laptop. i.e. movies, graphics, etc. Those things aside, I would highly recommend the NC10 or even the newer Samsung netbook models that supercede the NC10 (i.e. NC20). Buy an external DVD drive and you can even use it as a normal laptop as the performance is very good for the price. Thanks for reading!...

Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen
Disadvantages: No dvd drive but this is to save on weight and you can pick up an external one for reasonable

Advantages: sturdy, reliable, quite nippy for a netbook, relativley cheap
