Samsung D900i Mobile Phone

Advantages: Looks good, light, easy to use
Disadvantages: Bad battery life, breaks easily

...This is a really stylish looking phone, it is really thin but it is quite wide but is also quite light. It is available in chrome, black or pink - it is different on different networks. Over all I think this is a good phone but it does have its down points such as it breaks very easily. I dropped a glass next to it and a small piece of glass about 1-2 inches big bounced onto it, and the whole phone broke, it wouldn't even turn on, I think that was really bad and a phone shouldn't break that easily - especially thinking how good old phones used to be, you could do anything to them and they wouldn't break! The phone has a slide up feature which you can set to answer a call if you want. The buttons are quite large which is good for texting. Samsung Omnia i-900 - avoid!

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Terrible touchscreen, awkward operation and generally rubbish!

...it to be. The regular Samsung menus are comparable to other Samsung handsets, and better to use. The phone also get ridiculously bad reception. In areas where I know reception should be good, this phone won't connect. When I was sold this phone in the shop I was told the Opera internet system was excellent and rivalled the iPhone's internet access. In reality it is slow and clunky, and I prefer to use the slightly better but not brilliant Interent Explorer on the phone. The internet runs very slowly on this phone - since getting it I have replaced it with a Samsung Tocco which is lower down the range but much faster at connecting and running on the internet. ...The Samsung Omnia SGH-i900V I recieved my Samsung Omnia just over a month ago and to date it has been as impressive as the first day. It has many amazing features which i will explain later. However do note that samsung have not released the latest firmware for the phone, so some features you may have seen or heard about with the phones software may not be accesible unless you find and install the firmware update like i did. If you love using a PC, this is THE phone for you. Apparently the term Omnia means 'Everything' in Latin, and 'Wish' in Arabic, so the expectation associated to this new generation Samsung handset is pretty intense. Samsung's iPhone Killer

Advantages: Powerful and speedy, Lots of memory, Good battery life, Good Connectivity

...INTRO I got a bit fed up with my Samsung SGH-i600 as I found it a bit on the slow side and the lack of a touch screen limited what I can do on the Windows Mobile operating system. I selected the the Samsung SGH-i900 (aka: OMNIA) to be worthy of becoming the replacement. It's supposed to be an "iPhone killer" and similarly, has a full touch screen interface. I bought my Omnia on eBay for £366 to avoid increasing my contract cost with Orange. I threatened to leave orange so they gave me a £15 deal with 750 minutes talk time and unlimited texts but normally, if you were to get the Omnia with Orange, you would need to be on a £45 a month, 18 month contract and even pay £50 a month for the phone itself. Advantages: User Friendly, Light Weight, Great battery life

...I purchased the Samsung D900I Pink for my most recent upgrade, due to great word of mouth recommendations from friends. And I must say I have not been disappointed in the slightest. The phone itself is lightweight and user friendly, the menu (which has 2 display choices) is easy to navigate and all settings are under the headings you would expect. As an active texter myself, I am extremely happy with the text function. The buttons are satisfying to use and I am yet to have the phone type an incorrect word, or press another button by mistake. Something I value while texing a lot. It does also has an impressive battery life, only needing to be charged once a week. It has a large sreen and a slide open feature to reveal the keypad with buttons big enough that you can press seperatly without pressing 2 or 3 at one time! which can be very annoying Camera The phone features 3mp camera with auto focus and a flash. I would not recommend this camera as a main source of taking photos, however it is good to take quick shots on the go to store as your screen saver. I wasn't looking for anything fancy and this phone was exactly that - quite good looking with pretty basic features. ~~~ Looks / Style ~~~ I was looking through a catalogue at all the various phones and this appeared to be one of the best looking without being too expensive. When I finally got it I was just as pleased with it looking at it for real as I was when looking at it in the catalogue. D900i Stylish but is it for you?

...and the camera. * The Battery Life * Battery life with my phone has been a big issue, especially when it comes to Samsung. Has this one done any better than the rest that I moaned about years ago? Well, yes and no. My D900 lasts me around 2-3 days. I send on average about 10 - 15 texts a day and make 2 calls of about 30-60 mins long, which seems acceptable but when I compare it to my old W880I that used to last for about 5 days without charging, it seems a bit poor. Also, on nearly all Samsung, you only have 3 bars for showing how much battery you have left, which doesn't really give you much indication if you're on your last bar, if your phone is going to dead in a hour or in ten minutes.
