Let's sing the praises of Samsung LCD TV

Advantages: Saves space, good picture, built in freeview
Disadvantages: HD broadcasts not out yet, need a HD ready DVD player too

...apparent thiness. I particularly like the Samsung as it is framed in black ( see picture above ) and I think this gives it a sleek, stylish look. My boss informed me once ( he is full of pearls of wisdom) that a LCD tv is equally popular with husbands and wives. His reasoning is that men like all the gadgets that come with it ( and there are many like picture in picture, different screen sizes etc) while women like the extra space it affords the sitting room. To be honest I like the extra space it affords our room. Furthermore as a parent I'm glad that neither of my sons can lick the television screens any more when their favourite characters come on ( the things they learn from their mother!). It also means they have to watch the television from a certain distance which is obvouisly benefical to their mince pies! *** Spot the Difference...

Snap Happy Samsung!

Advantages: Great camera at a great price.
Disadvantages: None at the price, you get a great item for what you pay!

The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day. My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream. The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV. The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones. ...I'm not overly fussed with some of the technical aspects of televisions, I don't even understand most of it so I'll do my best not to bore anyone with these during my review. As long as I can plug in my dvd player, my sky box and my nintendo wii with no problems I'm a happy bunny. ...If quality and style is what you are looking for then the Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD is the TV for you. This screen is one of the better looking on the market and looks great both on the side with the supplied stand or mounted on the wall (wall mount not supplied). The picture quality is phenomenal. The TV has DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) which helps to 'step up' the inputted source. This means a great quality pictures even from my DVD player connected through one of the two scart sockets and from the built in freeview receiver. This negates the need to update a DVD player for one with a HDMI connection. The screen produces up to 12.8 billion colours and has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 giving great definition between light and dark. Advantages: Great picture over hdMI, vga and Component
Disadvantages: Changing Souce takes ages. TV takes ages to switch on.

...Great Picture on HDMI with my Virgin V+ Box My media centre is connected by VGA which is great too, as is the Upscaling DVD player of Component! Picture and sound is good then. What is really annoying is no shortcut buttons on remote to HDMI/ COMP/ VGA. A. Turn TV on...takes ages to fire up. B. Press the Input button..wait...press the input button...wait. etc etc Eventually you get from HDMI to VGA. If this is the sort of thing that really annoys you, dont get this tv! ; Of course there is a menu system to navigate to the corrrect source, but unfortunately, this cannot be accesed through the Samsung DVD remote!. I do not like 10 remotes on the table, so the TV one stays in the basket. In summary, great TV, a pain to operate....

...of it,i have never used these yet i wouldnt know which button is what there is about 6 altogether. Remote is quite thin and long it has one thing on it i can not seem to use though Picture in Picture i have tried everything.I have followed the user manual pressed all the buttons on the remote and nothing happens at all dont know why. The worst thing about this television that is so annoying is that when i have it on standy its buzzes it is perfect when i turn it on the buzzing stops. Summary: I Think that this TV is good for someone like me who doesnt have much space for a bigger tv but i think if i had the chance i would get a samsung 26" as they seem to look better and have more features. Worth the money though...
