Snap Happy Samsung!
Advantages: Great camera at a great price.
Disadvantages: None at the price, you get a great item for what you pay!
...I bought this camera in ASDA at the incredible price of £75 in a gorgeous chrome silver colour (pictured). I am probably one of the most indecisive shoppers around, so when it came to buying a digital camera, I was thoroughly confused by the choice and newly released technology, meaning every week a new camera with more mega pixels and better zoom and a toaster built in was released! This certainly does not making chosing easy!
Well, thanks to the advice of the very helpful assistant in ASDA, I was able to finally decide on the Samsung ES55 and have no regrets! Ok, so how do you chose the right camera for you? It's all about accepting there is SO much variety but making sure you know what you want, that way you can really trim down the choice. Also, pick a reliable brand and as I have been informed, Samsung are one of the best. I had...

Samsung's Neat Little Netbook
Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad
...After my white Asus Eee PC 1000H got stolen, I decided to replace it with a black Samsung NC10. The Asus and this Samsung are what is known as a netbook. It?s sort of a small, low cost laptop to let you surf the net, while you?re out and about. I bought it off Dixons.co.uk for £322 in December 2009 (had a 5% off coupon) but it?s going for around £310 at the moment in most places.
CHOICES
The NC10 is Samsung's first stab at the netbook market and they?ve done a blinding job of it. I believe it even won an award for it. The NC10 comes in three flavours, those being black, blue and white. I chose the black as it looks prettier. The white one also looks great but I figured that it would start to pick up dirt and go a bit black, especially the keyboard and touchpad. The white version has a matte lid so doesn't pick up...

Samsung NC10 Review
Advantages: Good battery life, nice screen, near enough a full size keyboard
Disadvantages: small-ish trackpad
...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'!
My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop.
Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life.
I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move.
The Samsung NC10 is in my view one of the very best netbooks out there, the keyboard is just shy of being full size so no cramped typing (this review was written on it)
Combine this...

Samsung but smaller
Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen
Disadvantages: No dvd drive but this is to save on weight and you can pick up an external one for reasonable
...Having previously had a laptop my wife recently decided to buy a new computer for herself as she felt she was not taking her laptop with her due to size and weight and so decided to opt to pick up the Samsung NC10 netbook. So you may have noticed that this is a netbook and be wondering what this exactly means...a netbook is a smaller, lighter weight laptop that is simply designed to handle internet browsing, e-mail and office software. The question I was asked by my wife before she picked this little gadget up was would this be able to play games? The answer is yes but of a limited variety as this is not designed with the same level of specs in as a normal pc or laptop (you would also need to purchase a cd or dvd drive for if you are looking at playing games that use a cd).
Now down to the actual netbook itself...the Samsung is...

Samsung hits the netbook world for 6
Advantages: sturdy, reliable, quite nippy for a netbook, relativley cheap
Disadvantages: sound, no ssd option, still can't beat the aspire one
...With the netbook market already saturated to the point of that resembling a cat's fur when thrown into a bath (with almost as much fur flying between the competitors), it would seem that we don't need yet another standard netbook joining the ranks. However the samsung NC10 has proven to be a great addition to the market, and managed to undercut nearly all of their major competitors, even if it can't beat the acer aspire one.
The NC10 is the usual netbook affair with regards to specs, it is fitted with the defacto standard intel atom, 160GB HDD and 1GB memory, this provides decent performance for all your web application needs and some circa 1999 gaming (no-one buys one for gaming anyway, but you've always got to at least try). It really isn't anything special in this department, but all netbooks are pretty similar anyway. However the nc...

Samsung NC10 Black netbook a lightweight and excellent netbook
Advantages: Great screen, excellent battery life,
Disadvantages: Poor speakers, personal headphones or additional speakers definitely help
...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday.
I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all.
The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch.
The screen is bright and very easy to read, I primarily use the NC10 at home for surfing the net to shop and for music in the background. I have an extensive playlist on Spotify...

Never mind, Digitals comes cheap with Samsung
Advantages: Read the review
Disadvantages: Mostly but the price
...If I remember correctly of all the cameras that I have reviewed here, this possibly is the cheapest so far. In fact the main idea was to have a first hand experience of Samsung range of cameras and I thought it prudent to try the cheapest possible available in Samsung array of cameras. Well the experience is very close to disaster.
Design:
Probably its only positive point is its price, that probably is about all. If you look at the design it does look cheap, drab and dumb to say the least. In fact the ES55 looks just that better with its very quaggy aluminium casing, this one comes with a forlorn drab plastic wrapping which probably will make the least fashionables talk about fashion.
Lets have a look at the technical specs of the Samsung ES15:
#Maximum resolution 10.2 megapixel
#3x optical zoom lens
#AA alkaline...

The Preston Experience
Advantages: Very friendly & helpful staff, easy to get to, Nice hotel
Disadvantages: Take your own baby monitor
...Back at the beginning of April my husband and I decided that we'd take our 10 month old son up to Preston, Lancashire to show him where his Mama originated from before defecting to the South :o) As it was my Mum's birthday at the same time, we thought it was as good enough excuse to head off 300+ miles in a Northernly direction.
~~~Finding The Details~~~
I found the details through the internet, even though we'd stayed at the Preston Marriott previously, we'd failed to keep hold of the phone number.
The details on the website were easy enough to follow. After putting in Preston on the hotel search engine, it quickly took me to a list of all the Preston hotels that they have, I found Preston United Kingdom at the bottom of the list and clicked on to it. After this I was taken to a page that contained a map and a list of other...
West of the Wall by Marcia Preston. A good read.
Advantages: Good story set in an interesting period of time.
Disadvantages: Slightly unbelievable at times.
...and Marcia Preston effectively draws the reader into the drudgery of Trudy's daily routines. Soon Trudy learns through an old friend, Wolfgang Kruger, that, as the wife of a defector, she is in danger of being brought in for questioning by the Stasi. Faced with possible imprisonment, torture or worse Trudy reluctantly takes up an offer of help to escape to the west. Tragically she is unable to take Stefan with her - a heart-wrenching decision for any woman.
Having survived the terrifying ordeal of her escape, Trudy learns the fate of her husband and sets about trying to find a way of being reunited with both Stefan and her mother in law.
The reader is then presented with a sequence of events which somewhat tests the bounds of credibility but nevertheless still provides an enjoyable read. President J F Kennedy visits to deliver his now...
Comfortable and quiet in Preston
Advantages: Easy access, Marriott standards and deals, very comfortable
Disadvantages: Some delays in restaurant
...great value at £23.50 per head.
On the Saturday, after an enjoyable day out in Preston and Fleetwood, we had a great time sitting outside the front of the hotel with a drink, watching the wedding parties come and go, and the various musicians entertain them.
We had been rather worried that we could not book our evening meal until 8pm, and this proved to be justified. Our theory is that is there is a 9pm watershed in most hotel restaurants and if you are not finished by then, things go pear-shaped. Sure enough, we enjoyed our starters and main courses but had to wait around 30 minutes for our desserts, although at least one couple waited longer and then they walked out. Again, the general food and service were great apart from that problem. There appeared to be a children's menu and the staff were particularly helpful with young guests...
