The Perfect Laptop/Netbook For Anyone - Samsung NC10

...I have this cute little netbook on a vodafone contract and I love it. The only problem I have ever had with it, is occasionally the touchpad will crash and need to be restartedm but this is very occasional and not exactly a big problem. Has a large memory of 160gb which is split into two internal hard drives, a decent size screen and is very portable. battery on full charge usually lasts me about an ahour 15 mins, but this could be different for other people, I dont know anyone else who has this netbook. Like all netbooks, this one does not come with a disc drive, but has two USB ports, so data can easily be transferred from PC to Laptop. Has XP running system, which in My personal opinion, is better than Vista, but thats for each person to choose themselves. Has built in wireless capability, and also the option to plug in...

Cracking ultra-portable laptop for under a grand

Advantages: Fast, great spec, looks good, light
Disadvantages: None so far (only had it a week though)

...I just bought this for £749 from amazon. Delivery was quick and ordering easy (as I usually find with amazon) - this laptop arrived ready to go - I just switched it on! It looks great, is very lightweight and has a lot of welly under the boot! It has an Intel Centrino Duo processor and 2GB ram which I think you need if you are going to run Vista. It has a 160 GB hard drive which seems plenty big enough to me!! It also comes with a multiformat DVD burner so even if you run out on your 160 GB you can always store to DVD. If you want to access a flash card you can just plug yours in and go - it is compatible apparently with SD, MMC MS, MS PRO and XD, but I only have SD which works great, but I obviously can't comment personally on the others. Nice laptop, FAB extended warranty!

Dell Inspiron 1545 - good entry level laptop

...The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks). Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen

The dell inspiron laptop is it a good buy!

Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic.
Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about

...The Dell inspiron laptop has an attractive classy look, it has a simplistic stream-line look. When I take it out its case I feel good about it because its not a big bulky embarassing computer thing. However, if your one for keeping everything clean and tidy and no smudges anywhere, then maybe you might be irritated by this laptop. With its glossy look smudges, smears and fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb. You feel like your constantly wiping it. You also have to watch what you wipe the laptop with as it is quite easy to scratch. A better idea for Dell would be to provide a cloth to clean it with, one they know wont damage your laptop. It would be a real bummer to scratch it while cleaning it. I also decided to get the colour black because there wasnt a lot of colours to choose from which I found quite dissapointing as...

Ultra Mobile Laptop from SAMSUNG

Advantages: Small, Light, Good battery life and overall performance, High Spec
Disadvantages: Lags occasionally, Superceded by newer model

Doing stuff like watching DVDs or playing games and CPU intensive programs will drain the battery more quickly but overall, I find the Q35 battery life very acceptable. A nice feature on the battery is a battery tester, which can be used to see how much charge it has even while the laptop is off. Overall, the performance is very good. DESIGN AND BUILD It has a silver lid, silver body, black keyboard and black bottom, which I think goes quite well together. It is very stylish but Samsung have now come out with the Q45, which is an all black and curvier version of the Q3, which I do prefer the look of.
