Samsung RSH1DBMH Fridge Freezer

Advantages: Loads of space in fridge, great ice and water dispenser, not too big
Disadvantages: Not a huge capacity in freezer

...I have always wanted one of these american style fridge freezers but never had the room until we moved into our new house. Actually it does not take up as much room as I thought it would and it is a great centre piece to the kitchen. This fridge freezer is on wheels so although you'd think it was difficult to move it really isn't, I can move it easily! The ice and water facilities are fantastic. You have to have it plumbed into the mains pipe which my husband, who is certainly not a plumber, managed with ease! We did have to buy a little tap to fit it to the pipe but that was only a few pounds compared to what you would have to pay a plumber! You simply put the tap to the pipe and screw, it pierces the pipe then you can attach the hose supplied with the fridge freezer! This means you never have to fill up the water or make ice...

Advantages: All in one frost free fridge freezer, for fresh fruit cold beer - A rated

Our first combined fridge freezer

Advantages: Good capacity for small family, no frost or condensation on interior walls.
Disadvantages: Freezer compartments quite tight for large items like pizza's etc

...This is a great fridge freezer for a small family. Our family is two adults and a child, and it copes very well with the weekly shop, although can be pretty packed. Starting at the top, from the outside, there are six buttons at the very top of the machine, three to either side of the digital display. The first on the left is the power button, which as you would imagine is used for switching the whole thing on and off. This is however an 'electronic' on/off switch therefore there will still be power going to the device if you don't switch off at the socket. One thing we noticed with these buttons is that they can quite easily be pushed 'in' and end up further back behind the facia than they should be. A gentle touch is all that is required! As the temperature inside the fridge freezer reduced, the digital display showed the actual temperature and the temperature that was required, so you could be positively sure when it was ok to use. In less than a few hours the fridge and freezer were cool enough to be used. The fridge compartment has a very large amount of space that can store anything from a few 2 litre bottles, to cans, vegetables, ham/cheese drawers, salad drawers that keep the salad crisp and fresh, and also the shelves can be used at half of their size or they can be pulled out to their full size. Advantages: Glass shelves, Frost Free
Disadvantages: 'Multi Flow' feature can be noisy

.... Sure enough, all this needed was 1 hour to allow it to settle before plugging it in. From switching it on, I left it about an hour before transferring my food and frozen food. The freezer drawers are a good size, and have clear fronts so you can see what's in them. Because it's frost free, you can actually see through them! The bottom drawer is only about 2/3 as deep as the other 2 because of the compressor in the back. I would advise against the models with the ice cube maker since it occupies half of the top drawer, not leaving you with much space. The fridge is great, with a light that turns off if you leave the door open too long. The glass shelves are easy to clean, and can be adjusted easily. Great American style fridge freezer

Advantages: No sacrifice of space to water filter/ice maker, loads of fridge space
Disadvantages: Wine rack an optional extra, could benefit from another door shelf.

...Great fridge-freezer! We ordered it from Laskys (see my separate review) as they were offering it for the cheapest price at the time. Fridge side (on the right) is bigger than the freezer. We went for this model so we wouldn't need to plumb it into the cold water supply, and we wouldn't sacrifice lots of freezer space to an ice maker. It also has a handy spring-loaded ice tray too, which you fill up with water yourself & flip over the cubes into the tray when ready. Freezer and fridge have separate coolers so this should be more energy efficient and give you fault tolerance should one fail (you can still use the other half ok while the engineer is being arranged!) Door shelves of fridge are plenty big enough for 2L bottles, but I would have preferred a 3rd one, rather than spacing them out as they have. the 2 salad crisper...

Design fault ruins Samsung fridge freezer

Advantages: Lovely big fridge, on tap chilled water and cubed or crushed ice, no frost freezer
Disadvantages: Serious design fault means that you'll probably be replacing it within 5 years.

...We were delighted to have acquired an almost new RS21DCSV, which was left by the previous occupier when we bought our house. It has a very large fridge - which I love - with a smaller freezer, which we supplement with another freezer we already had. The unit must be plumbed in to properly use the water and ice dispenser. It came with 1 water filter, which last 6 months before they need replacing. Samsung replacements are £40 each, but compatibles from Pozanni are just as good and are a quarter of the price. On the freezer door is a temperature display for the fridge and freezer. We found the display to be inaccurate, and quickly switching the unit off and on resulted in a truer temperature. There are also buttons for power cool and power freeze. We are not convinced that anything happened when the power cool button is pressed...

Shiny new fridge freezer

...all the models we saw were rated 'A' for energy consumption (that's a good thing - it means it doesn't use much electricity), with the top half as the fridge and the bottom half as the freezer compartment and were of a fairly similar size. I am a Firdge Freezer

...My oh so wonderfull landlord has just bought me one of these things cause the old fridge had blown up and it has a freezer too, thank you Mr Landlord. I have only had this baby for a week and I am in love, I was that excited about having my own freezer that I ran out a bought a ice cube tray thingy only to find out that it had one in the top drawer of the freezer compartment, which seems to be the only usefull thing you can put in the top drawer. There are three compartments in the freezer of the same size and most frozen products will fit niceley in them apart from frozen pizzas which have to be stuck in at a jaunty angle. You can also fit packets of square sausage in them as well, quite nicely. There is quite a lot of storage spage enough to last me for over amonth in the freezer alone.
