Disadvantages: LCD screen is difficult to see in sunlight - but then this is usually the case on other cameras

...I have used my Samsung S600 camera for a couple of years now and have been very happy with its performance and the results. I tend to leave it set on Auto most of the time, so it's ready to use anytime for anything. It has a very quick start up, so you won't miss photo opportunities. When I want to be more creative, I use the other modes and functions, of which there are plenty for any keen amateur photographer like myself. I'm personally not interested in all the new technology and features you'd probably hardly every use on other more expensive cameras available on the market. ...I got this phone about 11 months ago on an upgrade with T Mobile. I had no idea what phone I wanted but when I explained the functions that I needed, the Samsung U600 was suggested to me. It is a nice looking phone, grey, small and thin, you can carry it in your pocket without it being too bulky. It is a slide phone with a large screen. The number buttons are under the screen and are displayed when you slide the phone down. The menu and call and hang up buttons are touch screen. ...Having only ever owned a Samsung phone throughout the many phones I have owned in my life, I decided to carry on the tradition by buying the Samsung G600. It has served me well and has a number of really good features. One of the best little features I found with this phone was that there are a number of nice backgrounds preloaded onto the phone that can be changed in the settings menu. I currently have the puma background that shows up in the main menu behind all the features on the phone like messages. I also like the espresso theme but I find the puma background the nicest. Between the phones memory and the sim card, 1000 contacts can be stored in your phonebook, and 200 messages in total can be stored in the text message folder. To be honest I really dislike the fact that you can only store 200 messages, as I will never fill up...

...I bought this mobile on the basis that it was shiny and new primarily (yes I know I am shallow) but I have since been very impressed with the features, ease of use and quality. I normally use a mobile to only telephone people with and the Samsung SGH U600 does that with ease. Reception coverage has been flawless everywhere from Southend up to Derby. However I have found myself using the other features more and more. I like the simple way it handles text messaging ( I don't bother with grammer/punctuation but do spell words correctly). I work away from home a lot and have found that the radio function is really useful with excellent reception everywhere I have found myself. It saves having to take another gadget with me as well. The only other disappointment is the camera. 3.2 megapixels, but sadly, the shutter delay is significant, so the pictures are blurry and at least a second after you wanted them to be taken. I thought this would be the perfect phone, but on further inspection, this turned out to be somewhat untrue. The design is bang on. No doubt about it, you won't be disappointed. Easy slide action and very smooth. Charges quite quickly and light doesnt stay on whilst charging unlike its other touch screen relative, the samsung E900. The phone is quite stong even though it is very thin but like most samsungs, the screen scratches very easily. The battery life is one major concern with this phone. It is VERY poor. You end up having to charge it every single night with ordinary use. This is just the sacrifice for having such a think phone. Also, the music player plays at a very low volume. Not good if you like to share your music...
