...I got this phone about 11 months ago on an upgrade with T Mobile. I had no idea what phone I wanted but when I explained the functions that I needed, the Samsung U600 was suggested to me. It is a nice looking phone, grey, small and thin, you can carry it in your pocket without it being too bulky. It is a slide phone with a large screen. The number buttons are under the screen and are displayed when you slide the phone down. The menu and call and hang up buttons are touch screen. To describe some of the features that the phone has- Camera- It has a 3.2 mega pixel camera which is very good quaility, however it annoys me how it takes a while for the camera to capture the picture before it actually takes it. ...Having only ever owned a Samsung phone throughout the many phones I have owned in my life, I decided to carry on the tradition by buying the Samsung G600. It has served me well and has a number of really good features. One of the best little features I found with this phone was that there are a number of nice backgrounds preloaded onto the phone that can be changed in the settings menu. I currently have the puma background that shows up in the main menu behind all the features on the phone like messages. I also like the espresso theme but I find the puma background the nicest. Between the phones memory and the sim card, 1000 contacts can be stored in your phonebook, and 200 messages in total can be stored in the text message folder. To be honest I really dislike the fact that you can only store 200 messages, as I will never fill up...

...I recently decided to change from a pay as you talk to a contract pay as you go tariff. Looking at the phones available, i saw the G600 and was impressed by the look of the phone, so i risked it knowing not a lot about it and the risk paid off. Physically, the phone is very classy and sleek. It is a very smart phone and i have received numerous complimnts about the phone from people at work and in my family. My brother liked it that much that he decided to buy one. The screen is quite big so the menu and other features are easily read, but it doesnt look to big. It isnt bulky or big like i thought it may look. The camera is the most amazing feature about the phone. The 5megapixel photos are truly phenomenal, i didnt even bother taking a camera on a night out as the picture quality is of such a high standard that it was unnecessary...

However, I would say that it is not a phone, that should be used as a buisness phone, or one which would you used all the time, as the battery strength and endurance is not too good. Also, there is a rather limited amount of applications available. There is no satellite navigation or maps available, which for some people can be frustrating. Also, a real negative I have found with this phone, is that the internet services on it, are very poor indeed. Furthermore you cannot search through search engines etc. I would suggest that if you are in need of access to the internet that you do not purchase this...

...As typical with Samsung phones I'd ordered a replacement within two weeks of acquiring this phone, it having stopped working. This said, I'm still a big fan of Samsung, and my current phone is performing admirally. I have a beautifully shiny purple edition, which looks stunning, and certainly acts as a talking point! The phone its self works great, though can occasionally be a little slow texting. The screen is large and good quality. The in-built 5meg camera is better than previous versions; though as with all phone camera's requires everything to be perfectly still; but for a phone it's not bad! ...When i first saw this phone, the first thing i noticed was its sleek features and thin design. I thought this would be the perfect phone, but on further inspection, this turned out to be somewhat untrue. The design is bang on. No doubt about it, you won't be disappointed. Easy slide action and very smooth. Charges quite quickly and light doesnt stay on whilst charging unlike its other touch screen relative, the samsung E900. The phone is quite stong even though it is very thin but like most samsungs, the screen scratches very easily. The battery life is one major concern with this phone. It is VERY poor. You end up having to charge it every single night with ordinary use. This is just the sacrifice for having such a think phone. Also, the music player plays at a very low volume. Not good if you like to share your music...

...I've always liked Samsung phones - first was my trusty V200, then my E900 so I fell in love with this phone as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately, despite it's sleek looks and ease of use I'm really disappointed with it. Maybe I've got one from a dodgy batch but despite returning it (twice) I'm still plagued with niggly problems. 1. The backlight on the keypad (and sometimes on the screen) dip out and/or dim making texting in low light highly frustating. 2. The predictive text feature keeps turning itself off which is so annoying especially when you're half way through writing a text and realise that it's all gibberish. 3. The dictionary forgets new words all of a sudden - for example XXX at the end of a text, you can be using it quite happily yet on next text you send it's forgotten it. ...i got this phone at the start of october this year, it had only been out for a few day\'s when i received it, i got it as an up-grade on my contract, i did have the d600, so when they told me this phone was new i was so excited. i received it and i only had it on charge for about an hour because i wanted to play with it, well that was me for the rest of the day!! i took a little getting used to but oh my goodness it is fab!! the 5 megapixel camera is great, i have a young child who is always on the go and when i want to take a picture i use my phone and it gets the image perfectly!! it is so very easy to use and the zoom on it is so clear and close for the really important parts!! it also has lots of different ways of taking your picture, black and white, landscape, portrait, and the list goes on!!...i love my music so an mp3 player...

Disadvantages: Touch sensetitive buttons are a pain!

...Good phone for the money. The camera is adequate for most needs and has a flash - as I always say if you want a decent camera then buy one, not a phone!! The Slide is a big clunky but I personally prefer this as it gives a more robust feel to it, i.e. not flimsy. Touch sensetitive pads are a bit irritating as the whole area becomes touch sensitive - not just the bits that light up, only slightly annoying as you control the menu options from the square button in the middle of the phone (on the front) and it's hard not to lean on the touch sensitive pad - no doubt this will take a bit of getting use to. Only annoys me when playing games on the phone. Menu options are easy to understand , I had the old Samsung D500 and the menu options are the same - this is nice to see as some manufacturers keep changing the menu options, so if...
