...Good phone for the money. The camera is adequate for most needs and has a flash - as I always say if you want a decent camera then buy one, not a phone!! The Slide is a big clunky but I personally prefer this as it gives a more robust feel to it, i.e. not flimsy. Touch sensetitive pads are a bit irritating as the whole area becomes touch sensitive - not just the bits that light up, only slightly annoying as you control the menu options from the square button in the middle of the phone (on the front) and it's hard not to lean on the touch sensitive pad - no doubt this will take a bit of getting use to. Only annoys me when playing games on the phone. Menu options are easy to understand , I had the old Samsung D500 and the menu options are the same - this is nice to see as some manufacturers keep changing the menu options, so if...

Samsung SGH J600 Blue

Advantages: Excellent value for money phone, enough extras to keep most folk happy
Disadvantages: Slightly dodgy touch sensitive keypad.

...Unlike most folk half my age or younger, I only want a mobile phone that does what it's supposed to do - make calls, send the odd text message (particularly useful in my circumstances as my wife is nearly deaf and cannot use a normal phone). I don't really need the latest gizmos and bells and whistles that some mobiles come with. So, how does this Samsung measure up? To start with I was fairly impressed. I'd say 5 stars for value for money, as I got it for free on a Virgin contract at a tenner a month for 100 minutes / 100 texts - plenty enough for my needs. The music player is very good, though I hardly use it, the games are decent enough to pass a few minutes from time to time, the screen is lovely and clear, and the menu system is simple and easy to navigate through. Stunningly smooth and superior samsung J600

...Having had my Motorola phone for a while and an Alcatel before that, I was ready to get a new phone with a different manufacturer. I looked around for a phone for only a short while before being undecided between the Samsung J600 and the Samsung W810i. However, I was out shopping with my friends and saw the Samsung J600 in Woolworths for only £59.99. On a spur of the moment decision, I decided to buy the Samsung J600. It was the pink version, exclusive to O2. Getting home and opening the box was so exciting! The power button is on the left hand side along with the camera button. ...for the last 2 years Ive been using a smartphone spv c500, it's perfect for me as very often in my work I sit around in my car waiting for the rain to stop, the smartphone I have has a bookreader, a divx player and windows media player, it's fantastic... so whats this got to do with my new samsung j600?! It means it has a lot to live up to. how has it shaped up? Well firstly it was locked to 02 who I despise so £15 later it was unlocked, not a good start but you can buy them unlocked. The functionality of the phone takes a bit of getting used to especially if youre not used to a slider. the four way joypad is programable but the shortcuts are pretty much what I use. The Best Things Come In Small Packages...

Advantages: amazing phone, has everything you could ever really want.
Disadvantages: small memory, but that's easy to fix.

...sensitive and can be a little hard to get used to. Never the less very good. The phone is blue in colour, a sort of royal blue, very attractive and very modern looking. It slides smoothly to reveal more numbered buttons which are normal press buttons. They are a good size and easy to press, not a bit fiddly and definately not too small, like many modern phones. The main menu scroll pad is normal buttons which are on the outside of the phone and these are also blue, allowing movement in the menu section in up, down, left and right movements, but not diagonally. There is a somewhat confusing i button in the centre too, which takes you onto the web browser, ticks things, accepts things adn whenever you press it it seems to have a different function. Ah well, it is there and does something, just don't ask me what. There is a covered hole for adapter/charger...

Samsung SGH U600

Advantages: It is an all in one 'phone, looks very good, is simple to use
Disadvantages: Battery life can be short

...I bought this mobile on the basis that it was shiny and new primarily (yes I know I am shallow) but I have since been very impressed with the features, ease of use and quality. I normally use a mobile to only telephone people with and the Samsung SGH U600 does that with ease. Reception coverage has been flawless everywhere from Southend up to Derby. However I have found myself using the other features more and more. I like the simple way it handles text messaging ( I don't bother with grammer/punctuation but do spell words correctly). I work away from home a lot and have found that the radio function is really useful with excellent reception everywhere I have found myself. It saves having to take another gadget with me as well.
