Samsung SGH-F480 my experience

Advantages: Great features, and stylish!
Disadvantages: On the odd occasion the phone will freeze

...I have had my Samsung for 5 months now and I love it! The stylish design and the easy to use main menu. The phone has alot of feature 5 mega pix camera, video, completely touch screen, Bluetooth, internet browser,3G calling, 8gb memory card ect. In my opinion when I first brought the phone I was shocked at how much this item was, but when I started to use this phone and took advantage of all its features I didn?t mind paying that extra. I salesman said the best thing to do is charge it over night so I can get the most out of the battery, he was right I only have to charge my phone 3 times a week. On the other hand on the odd occasion the phone will freeze when I?m trying to text or make a phone call but recently this hasn?t happened for some time. My friend has the same phone and her handset dose the same, she doesn?t like the phone...

Advantages: Great value for money, Mobile TV, Internet surfing is fun, great looking
Disadvantages: Not good for texting, makes texting slow (not due to it being touch screen)

...Being my first touch screen phone, i was surprised how nice it is to use a touch screen phone. This phoe is the best little piece of technology i have come accross. Its 5MP camera is also full of wonderful features, and it can take a while for you to get the hang of configuring it to get the best picture results. I txt a lot using my phone, so i was worried when buying a touch screen phone to text.... I would say it is not as bad as i thought it would be, its quite easy to still text fast the same way you would in a normal button phone. However, the one big mistake samsung made is with their software regarding touch screen texting. Its hard to type short texts like "2mo" or "going 2" because the numbers are furthest away from the whole alphabets and symbols. For example, to type the number 2 in a text, takes 8 clicks/touchs on this...

Advantages: Good camera, music player, connectivity

...This is by far the best phone I have ever had. I previously had a Sony Ericsson phone which I was very disappointed with so I quickly changed it for the Samsung Tocco as testing have previously owned Samsung phones & have been extremely pleased with them as i am with this. The first thing that stood out to me about this phone was the size of the screen which compared to other phones I have had is huge! It is also a very slim phone which for me adds to the appeal. When I first bought this phone back in June I couldn't wait to get home & try it out & I wasn't disappointed! In the box comes all the standard features like a charger, pc studio cd-rom & a usb cable. ...*NEGA REVIEW!* This phone is so obviously trying to leech off the success that is the iPhone with its touch sensitivity. When I read that Samsung was releasing a touch screen phone called the Tocco I literally spat out a mouthful of putrefied goat's milk. Tocco is Italian for touch, so how many hotpots and involving how many Samsung executives for the Korean company were used when deciding on the name for the phone? It's like mixing kimchi with ice cream. With such a fusion of epic nastiness, you would also expect the phone to be a sod load of puck, and it is! The touch sensitivity is appalling, absolutely atrocious. I have used this sad excuse for a touch phone and I could not initiate any precision touch sensitivity at all. Samsung F480 - Its good but its not great

Advantages: Good features and applications, good looking phone
Disadvantages: Touch screen too sensitive, poor battery life, poor flash facility on camera

...The Samsung SGH-F480 is a great looking, slimline sleek little phone, but in my opinion these touch screen mobiles are vastly over-rated. The F480 has a wide range of features, camera, mp3, radio, camcorder, bluetooth etc etc and the quality of the features is never in doubt, its simply too sensitive! For instance when making a phone call, you push the phone too closely to your ear and you cut off the caller! Subsequently, you cannot hear the caller as you are trying not to press the phone too hard against your ear. You need to access touch buttons whilst in call and it takes you 2 or three buttons before you can access this. Also beware when the call requires you to select numeric options - after you have finally accessed the keyboard on the screen you may have been cut off or if you do get it to work in time the automated caller...

...I got the Samsung F480 recently as a free upgrade from my contract provider, I don't think I would have paid for this phone as I'm fairly clumsy and wouldn't have been convinced the large screen would have lasted more than a month. The phone itself however isn't as fragile as it looks and I haven't managed to do any damage to it yet (Despite dropping it on several occasions and sitting on it once.) I'm not going to go in all the technical details of the phone as I don't think they provide you what you really need to know about the phone so I'll stick to the stuff that I use a mobile for. Navigating you way round the menu's on the phone is fairly easy and I find the touchscreen quite innovative, the menu's follow the standard Samsung format and you can find everything you need quite easily, the phone is obviously an attempt to rival...

The appearance of a cheaper samsung version of the iphone

...A handy little phone, owned one for over a year now and I tell you, looks nearly as good as it did when I first bought it, you may think having a touch screen it would be prone to getting scratched, but if you keep the protecive leather flip down cover on this should keep the screen looking nearly as good as when you first purchased it, mine doesnt even have one scratch! It looks very similar to the iphone (looks not is), just a cheaper samsung version, same shape, minus the calling numbers at the bottom and 'SAMSUNG' they would be almost exact. It is definatly good value for money, its a very reliable phone. I got my phone as part of a deal by t-mobile where I would get unlimited texts and 700 minutes to any network for £30 a month. Advantages: Incredibly stylish and functional

...At first a little apprehensive, after always having Samsung products i wondered if it would live up to it's rivals! It does! The F480 (Or Tocco as commonly known) is an excellent example in it's class. The camera at first glance is a little dissapointing but with a the correct settings and when pictures uploaded onto your computer, the quality really shines through. Simple, easy to use functions and the ultra responsive touch screen are an asset to this mobile phone. The widget feature is brilliant, although a little too responsive and sometimes frustrating! Basic menu functions include, text messages, phone book, my files, applications, music player etc and more! Little hidden extra gems included, such as world clock (which can be viewed in the widget) converter, video editor, voice recorder and the uber impressive music...

...My Tocco has now been sold but dont take that as a downfall !!...... I wanted one around six months ago but did not want a contract. I found one in as new condition on an auction site for as little as £140 and it came with a warranty ! The Tocco is very easy too use but you really need to master a touch screen to be 100% correct every time you operate one. The Samsung company do seem to come up with some fine items and this is no exception. The screens detail is more than adequate with very clear colours and pixels.It scans the internet with ease and plays videos and music real well. The phone will come with a leather cover....USE IT....as the screen will get scratched up in your pocket or handbag overtime.There was one problem with it when it froze and would not come back on line.
