...Hi, In the past I have always used Pioneer and Liteon Drives in the past. But I bought a Samsung drive (Super-WriteMaster SH-S202J) from www.ishift.co.uk and I must say that not only is it just as fast (20x) and I have seen no real difference in performance between the IDE or SATA drives as the Liteon and Pioneer drives but it is much much quieter! To be honest the whole build quality of the Samsung seems a lot better as well plus it came with the software I needed, unlike many of the Pioneer OEM drives I have bought. Considering the low price I paid I think this is by far one of the best value for money drives I have ever bought. Very happy, this drive comes highly recommended! A+++... Read review

...At first I was very impressed with this product and everything was working fine until it began pausing/freezing for a split second at first and then gradually stopping for a longer period. It is the only fault with this Samsung DVD recorder but it is very annoying and when I rang up the helpline about it all they said was to make sure the disk was not dusty or scratched and to blow the insides to make sure it was clean. Surprisingly this did not fix the fault. It is a real shame as apart from this very annoying fault it has so much going for it with some great features and everything you would expect from a top of the line DVD Recorder. ...I bought the Samsung/Toshiba SH-D162C in Germany for EUR 13, which makes it a very affordable drive. As we will see though, it offers quality of operation equivalent to much pricier drives from established manufacturesrs like Plextor etc. First impressions: pretty heavy, sturdy built, eject button operation requires quite a bit of finger muscle action :-) The tray slides in and out very quietly. Spin-up fairly quiet - I'd say around 5 on a 1 to 10 scale. DVD playback (1x) very quiet - practically indiscernible from other computer-associated noise (fans etc.) Testing with Nero CD/DVD Speed: I used my Plextor PX320-A for comparison. Tests were performed after firmware upgrade to version TS03. Transfer rates were up to 43x (data CD-R) and 11x (data DVD-R). Thus, both fall short of the spec'd 48x / 16x. ...That time of year had descended on me again where whether I need one or not it was time to purchase a new DVD recorder. After the success of last year's Samsung DVD recorder I again chose to stick with the brand again. During last year having fought it off for a few years silver finally made way for black, as black had for silver five years prior; I am of course talking about casings. The Samsung DVD-SH 853 comes completely in black with a nice neon blue power button. I reach my first stumbling point, the new casing is a beautiful shiny black and as a result it attracts two things, dust and fingerprints. Being a home that comes complete with two dogs that rule triumphant, I find myself cloth in hand wiping over the DVD recorder twice daily, I pray to God this stops soon, or that the dogs are just going through a particularly molten... ...My purchase of the Samsung ML-1510 laser printer was, as indeed all my purchases of computer equipment are, a matter of necessity rather than decadent want. My hand was forced as I was faced a long summer of job application and dissertation writing; and my vintage Canon BJC 4300 ink-jet printer became: 1. Financially unsustainable – The amount of material I am printing would have forced me to spend literally hundreds of pounds on cartridges. 2. Frustratingly unreliable – I would spend critical minutes trying to coax the machine into printing that would often culminate in me walking to the kitchen in despair to seek a cup of tea. 3. ...I ordered the phone despite being locked. I got a japanese 3G USIM card so i could use the phone. This phone have 3.2 megapixel CCD sensor camera. It also have anti-shake technology on the camera. The camera pictures are superb!!! Crisp and clear colours. The screen is also crisp and clear. I've never seen any mobile phones with this type of screen quality besides the Sharp 903sh and 902sh which i also own. In my opinion, I think the Sharp 904sh beats the rest. The screen has double the resolution of the nokia n95 and triple the normal colour screen phones. The sound reproduction from this phones speakers are incredible.
