Samsung an average camcorder

Advantages: Compact, convienient and fantastic picture quality
Disadvantages: Unreliable and poor customer service.

...Well it looks very nice and as with all Samsung products it seems to list a heap of fancy features that are on the leading edge of technology. Reliability: I have had this camcorder for almost 6 months and am sorry to say that it has just been sent for repair for the second time due to a manufacturing fault (The LCD screen died). So I am going to say not very reliable at all but this is to be expected with leading edge technology I guess. Ease of use: At first not very. I am quite good generally with electronics but found this confusing and had to sit and read through the manual before I could use this. Sound Quality: 7/10 not fantastic but acceptable if you are a reasonable distance from the camera. Features: Many fancy ones - most of which I probably wont use and missing some of the basic ones that I would look for in a camcorder...

Review of Samsung VP MX20

Not the best, and certainly not the best looking!

...Wasn't very impressed with this camera, it was definitely less than average in almost all aspects. Look and design Despite being quite light and portable, it is the ugliest thing I have ever laid eyes upon. The Samsung VP MX20 looks like Samsung were trying to make a dildo range, got about half way down the length and decided to turn it into a video camera instead. And then there's the stupid YouTube advert on the side. I can't see why I should have to walk around advertising YouTube when I'm not getting paid for it. Function It definitely didn't excel here either. The image quality is pretty poor and it only has a pathetic little sensor with a meagre 800,000 pixels. Samsung VP D381 - Simple On The Surface

Advantages: Good for everyday use, simple & small.
Disadvantages: Tapes only, needs firewire.

This was annoying, and I started to wonder why Samsung had made it so difficult to transfer your video, unless it was to persuade you to go for the memory card models with USB transfer instead. I decided to worry about it at another time, and set it aside. But then, I decided to get a MacBook, and what should be found sitting along the side, but a firewire port. I should say that on the latest MacBook generation the port has been removed, mine is the white one. So I plugged it in, and lo and behold, iMovie pops up, and lets me transfer everything on the tape, whilst separating it into the separate recordings, with the click of a button. SAMSUNG CAMCORDER RUBBISH DO NOT BUY VP-DC161

Advantages: NON
Disadvantages: Spent £350 for only 1 hour of footage

...Completely useless and Samsung far less than helpful when things Go wrong as were PC world not interested in either replacing or repairing mine even though I was told it had a two year guaruntee! The camera lasted for one and a half hours of recording and now does not work at all. Could not even finalise the disc that was in it when it packed up lost valuable footage of baby daughter. Bought another off e-bay if only to finalise the disc but it had the same fault only backlight came on and Nothing else at all! DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG VP-DC161 I have wasted over £350 to date and have now decided to write to the BBC Watchdog program as feel sure hundreds of people have bought this duff product from Samsung and it is high time they owned up to making a dud and provided replacement of refund....

VP-D351 cheap, but insubstantial

Advantages: Inexpensive, light
Disadvantages: won''t stand up to hard wear and tear

...The VP-D351 is a basic no-frills camcorder of lightweight construction, read 'plasticy' In it's favour it uses inexpensive mini-DV tapes, which I consider to be preferable to DVD media, but connectivity is limited to Firewire (not all computers support this) and it doesn't come with a remote a remote control. (I tried one from another model and found it doesn't 'see' it) I have owned a couple of other Samsung camcorders in the past - both bought off ebay as 'spares or repair (note to self - they don't seem especially robust) I was, however, able to get them working after an hour or so effort without buying spares. Having been reasonably assured by this I bought my latest Samsung camcorder in a similar state - but discovered that the ribbon cable for the display was broken. Whilst I'm pretty handy with a watchmakers screwdriver...

Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad

...button under touchpad - Resolution could be higher VERDICT Overall, I think the Samsung NC10 is an excellent laptop. I like the look of it, the performance, the keyboard, the connectivity options and even the battery life. I would prefer for it to have Draft N wireless and maybe for it to be a bit lighter but those are minor niggles. One thing I would have liked is a higher resolution, even if the 1024 x 600 is perfectly usable, a higher one would give more flexibility in how well certain content is displayed on the laptop. i.e. movies, graphics, etc. Those things aside, I would highly recommend the NC10 or even the newer Samsung netbook models that supercede the NC10 (i.e. NC20). Buy an external DVD drive and you can even use it as a normal laptop as the performance is very good for the price. Thanks for reading!...

Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen
Disadvantages: No dvd drive but this is to save on weight and you can pick up an external one for reasonable

...Having previously had a laptop my wife recently decided to buy a new computer for herself as she felt she was not taking her laptop with her due to size and weight and so decided to opt to pick up the Samsung NC10 netbook. So you may have noticed that this is a netbook and be wondering what this exactly means...a netbook is a smaller, lighter weight laptop that is simply designed to handle internet browsing, e-mail and office software. The question I was asked by my wife before she picked this little gadget up was would this be able to play games? The answer is yes but of a limited variety as this is not designed with the same level of specs in as a normal pc or laptop (you would also need to purchase a cd or dvd drive for if you are looking at playing games that use a cd). Advantages: Good battery life, nice screen, near enough a full size keyboard

...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move.
