...this is our first camcorder and as we had a tiny budget I chose the samsung as it seemed great for the money. So far the camcorder has been brilliant , easy to use, easy to transfer to tv, small, caompact and smart looking. The only real problem has been that it chewed a tape and we had to break the tape to get it out so we were upset about that. It would also be good if it came with the firewire lead as to a newcomer to camcorders the added hasle of buying one is a pain . However, overall its a brilliant little camcorder and amazing value for money. I would recommend it to anyone buying their first mini dv camcorder. It is also worth looking for a deal whereby you get the accessory pack free as I did as this saves money on bag, tape battery etc....

Snap Happy Samsung!

Disadvantages: None at the price, you get a great item for what you pay!

Oh and another thing, recharging this camera is lemon-squeezy, since you just plug it in via the USB/ mains charger. Battery life is great and apparently outsmarts AAA battery cameras hands down (I have only had to charge my camera a few times since I got it). Samsung's Neat Little Netbook

Advantages: Good performance, Good connectivity options, Good webcam, 160GB HDD, Upgradeable
Disadvantages: Not very good accessories, Picks up Fingerprints, Weird button under touchpad

...After my white Asus Eee PC 1000H got stolen, I decided to replace it with a black Samsung NC10. The Asus and this Samsung are what is known as a netbook. It?s sort of a small, low cost laptop to let you surf the net, while you?re out and about. I bought it off Dixons.co.uk for £322 in December 2009 (had a 5% off coupon) but it?s going for around £310 at the moment in most places. CHOICES The NC10 is Samsung's first stab at the netbook market and they?ve done a blinding job of it. I believe it even won an award for it. The NC10 comes in three flavours, those being black, blue and white. I chose the black as it looks prettier. The white one also looks great but I figured that it would start to pick up dirt and go a bit black, especially the keyboard and touchpad. The white version has a matte lid so doesn't pick up...

Samsung but smaller

Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, excellent value for money, great design with brilliant screen
Disadvantages: No dvd drive but this is to save on weight and you can pick up an external one for reasonable

...Having previously had a laptop my wife recently decided to buy a new computer for herself as she felt she was not taking her laptop with her due to size and weight and so decided to opt to pick up the Samsung NC10 netbook. So you may have noticed that this is a netbook and be wondering what this exactly means...a netbook is a smaller, lighter weight laptop that is simply designed to handle internet browsing, e-mail and office software. The question I was asked by my wife before she picked this little gadget up was would this be able to play games? The answer is yes but of a limited variety as this is not designed with the same level of specs in as a normal pc or laptop (you would also need to purchase a cd or dvd drive for if you are looking at playing games that use a cd). In fact the main idea was to have a first hand experience of Samsung range of cameras and I thought it prudent to try the cheapest possible available in Samsung array of cameras. Well the experience is very close to disaster. Design: Probably its only positive point is its price, that probably is about all. If you look at the design it does look cheap, drab and dumb to say the least. In fact the ES55 looks just that better with its very quaggy aluminium casing, this one comes with a forlorn drab plastic wrapping which probably will make the least fashionables talk about fashion. ...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. Samsung NC10 Netbook

Advantages: Lots of connectivity - Big keyboard - excellent screen - Good spec
Disadvantages: bad sleeve to store netbook - battery life not that long - small touchpad

...and basically not do anything demanding. I have got 8 hours using the batttery manager - i placed everything at the lowest settings and got my 7 and a half hours. But after a recharge with everything on lowest settings - running some demanding programs - i got 4 and a half hours - now whilst this is still good - its not that impressive. If you switch to max performance the netbook is superb - everything is much faster and more enjoyable but then you will be getting a maximum battery life of 3 hours. Then there is the fact that batteries lose power after a while anyway. The netbook can also get very hot - whether its charging or not - so dont put it on bare legs :-) The charger is good and it doesn't take long to charge - especially when you can use the netbook whilst it is charging. The sleeve for storage is losuy and does nothing to...

Advantages: sturdy, reliable, quite nippy for a netbook, relativley cheap

...With the netbook market already saturated to the point of that resembling a cat's fur when thrown into a bath (with almost as much fur flying between the competitors), it would seem that we don't need yet another standard netbook joining the ranks. However the samsung NC10 has proven to be a great addition to the market, and managed to undercut nearly all of their major competitors, even if it can't beat the acer aspire one. The NC10 is the usual netbook affair with regards to specs, it is fitted with the defacto standard intel atom, 160GB HDD and 1GB memory, this provides decent performance for all your web application needs and some circa 1999 gaming (no-one buys one for gaming anyway, but you've always got to at least try). Samsung NC10 Black netbook a lightweight and excellent netbook

...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday. I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all. The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch. The screen is bright and very easy to read, I primarily use the NC10 at home for surfing the net to shop and for music in the background. I have an extensive playlist on Spotify...
