...Having owned several Samsung branded MP3 players over the years, I really enjoyed them so I decided to upgrade from their K5 mp3 player. I found this well built and very reliable (hardly ever crashed) and loved the portable slide out speaker. When the S5 was released a year later, also with slide out speaker, I thought this upgrade had to be a must. I was right. I decided to go for more storage from a 2gb to an 8gb. The 8gb actually costs less than the 2gb K5 cost! This player has everything the K5 missed and the few faults that the K5 had have been ironed out. The S5 now has album art, a prettier screen, video playback and bluetooth. Samsung YP-S5JA Mp3 player

Advantages: Very Stylish look and easy to transfer mp3's
Disadvantages: Could be arkward to use for the heavy handed

...I have had this mp3 player for just about a year now and i must admit it is possibly the best mp3 player that ihave every purchased. It has a stylish look and i'm ofter complimented on how cool my mp3 player is and asked where i bought it. The mp3 is easy to use device which uses a touch pad. For me using this is not a problem however of others this may not be the case especially for those that are heavy handed. Overall transferring mp3's from the PC is generally very simple and very suitable for those who have never had experience with using she devices. The sound quality is outstanding and allows several sound settings for different music styles. The battery live is good and does not require batteries....

Samsung YP best model yet!!

Advantages: big memory which stores up to1000 of songs,can delete music via the mp3 player,
Disadvantages: the navigation round the mp3 could be hard, depends on your technological level though.

Great battery and speaker.....cheap as well!!

Advantages: Good battery life, great built in speaker, quite cheap
Disadvantages: No mains charger, difficult menu and touch pad

...I have had the Samsung now for a couple of years and haven't had any issues with the player so far. The player has a few good points but is let down by a few also. The fold out speaker is a great addition and is louder than most mobile phones which answers the question, why buy this instead of using my mobile? Battery life is also very good and will last me a good week between recharges, though I?m sure there are those that will listen to their music more than I do. Battery life is obviously greatly depreciated when listening to music through the speaker instead of through headphones. I can't really complain about the storage space as if I wanted it to have more I could have just shelled out a little bit more for the 8GB version of it. Eventually it installed, but I found the Samsung music organiser not as convenient or easy to use as Windows Media Player, so I still use that to syncronise my music to the player. Since buying it, I am regularly shown new downloads to update the player, which I have found easy to install. On the whole I have actually noticed that these updates have made a visible improvement to the features of the player. Great MP3 player, not so good software

Advantages: Bluetooth, great sound quality from both the speakers and earphones, smooth animations, sleek design

...Early last year, a friend of mine purchased the earlier model of this particular MP3 player (YP-K5) and seemed very impressed by it so I decided to purchase this newer model once it came out. And for the most part, I'm glad I did. Overall, I am also very impressed by the Samsung YP-S5. The design is sleek and modern and the buttons (while confusing to begin with) are simple and easy to use. Regarding the buttons, as I have never owned a touch screen device or one with touch sensitive areas, it is a tad strange using the buttons and having no tactile feedback. That said, if you are familiar with that kind of input method, feel free to ignore the previous sentence. ...The Samsung YP-S5 is an update to the K5 that was released in 2006. The K5 had an unusual trait, a nifty built in speaker that was grouped with the actually mp3 player.
