Advantages: Located right next to the beach and all amenities. pretty clean

...Before I start I have to warn people that the pictures are misleading! The pool is actually on the roof on a main road, doesn?t look like it thought does it? I never managed to get near the pool was too busy. We stayed at this hotel as part of an allocation on arrival deal, therefore were expecting the worse. This wasn?t the worse but it certainly didn?t thrill me either. Being in San Antonio in July I was disappointed to discover this hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms, and as reception was always very busy I do not know if there are units which can be rented. We chose to buy a cheap fan at a nearby supermarket. The room was very basic, simply bed, table and wardrobe although the bathroom was a fairly good size. There were a few other issues during the week we stayed which I did not find satisfactory; on one...

I can thoroughly recommend a night watching this rather alien game if not just for a couple of beers and a hot dog while watching it. You can check on games and arrange for tickets to be picked up via Ticketmaster. What most cities would do for a stadium like this, which will presumably sit pretty dormant come next year. Playa de San Juan - An excellent hotel

Advantages: Friendly staff, lovely pool, clean room
Disadvantages: Dynamic currency conversion on our room costs paid by debit card

...We chose to visit the Holiday Inn Alicante Playa de San Juan for a week in July after having three very pleasant stays in Express by Holiday Inns in the UK. We were not sure what to expect in terms of quality, however it was probably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. The cost was ?94 per night for an en suite room with king size bed and an ?almost double? sofa bed. The room was on the third floor of the hotel and had a view of another apartment block to the rear of the hotel. However, this did not cause any problems as the apartments were quite a distance from the hotel, therefore not blocking the panoramic view. THE HOTEL The hotel building is over 7 floors: the ground floor, floors 1 to 5 and a floor called '-1'. If you are given a room on the '-1' floor, don't think that they are shoving you in...

  SUN, SEA, SANGRIA "SAN ANTONIO BAY IBIZA"

Advantages: A beautiful,clean, friendly, warm and relaxing holiday

...You have probably heard of San Antonio, Ibiza? Some of you may have even been there, it has had a lot of bad publicity over the years, which has encouraged more and more younger people to go, and by so doing has put quite a lot of families and older people off, Please don?t let all you hear put you off of such a beautiful place. A San Frantastic Boutique Hotel

Advantages: The price, the location, the staff, the rooms, everything
Disadvantages: ...our shower was like needles

...adorable and has a great location in town. I can't really flaw it. There are other hotels in the Joie De Vivre company within San Francisco too, so they may also be worth looking into to, but of the few we browsed over, none seemed so 'individual' and cute as this one. Like I said, they have cheaper options, and that makes me even happier that we can come back (making sure we book more in advance) and pay less! Don't go if you like to sleep a lot

...Cheap no frills hotel catering for the 18-30 crowd. Brisa is used mainly by British tourists and is NOT family friendly due to the constant noise, music and swearing! Saying that the whole resort of San Antonio is not family friendly so it's no wonder that very few hotels here cater for families. The hotel is conveniently located about a 15 minute walk from the west end where most of the bars and shops are and also equal distance from the more upmarket (and expensive) sunset strip of bars and restaurants (Cafe Del Mar, Mambo etc). It is situated in a residential area and is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. The surrounding area is pretty quiet but the hotel itself is not! The noise would have to be my main criticism of this hotel - it was constant. Whether it's the music pumping out from the poolside bar or the shouting...

Sunny San Diego

...I visited San Diego last October due to a work meeting. As it was such a long way to travel I thought it would be a good idea to add on a few days holiday to explore the area with a friend who was coming along. Getting There There are direct flights to San Diego from London however at the time these were three times as expensive as a fare with stopovers in the US and with a friend coming I wanted our flights to be as cheap as possible. Our flights went from Heathrow to Washington where we changed planes for a flight to Chicago and then another change for a plane to LA, where we got our final plane to San Diego. This may seem too much for some, but for me it was great as the plane changing gave me a chance to stretch my legs. I think I would have found 13 hours cooped up in a plane too much!
