...Thissandisk cruzer micro a flash drive that has some generous storage capacity of 8gb and is USB 2.0 which provides high transfer speeds. This driver is a nice colour in my opinion black is great i think. i use this drive daily at work and most of the time it rattles about at the bottom of my bag and the isnt a scratch/dent on it so it is very strongly built. It offers excleelent value for money and wil Guaranteed to do the job transfer speeds are pretty quick i manged to tranfer a movie onto it with in a min. I would recommend this USb flash Drive to anyone who wants a quick way of sending data from computer to computer and is well worth the money i brought mine from the internet fo about £10 which i think is good and have been happy with it ever since.... ...I recently purchased my SanDisk Cruzer Micro from eBay, as it was one of the cheapest brand-names available. Another thing that attracted me to this particular drive is the U3 capability. U3 is a new capability which allows usb drives to hold not only files and data, but also a variety of applications such as the Firefox browser, OpenOffice, Skype but also some games like Sudoku! This great idea is fantastic if you work with multiple computers, such as at work or school where you would normally not be able to use your own applications. Another great feature about the USB drive is the retractable connnector. With a quick slide on top of the drive, you can pull the connector back into the drive which eradicates the need for lids that often get misplaced. ..., which is what i did before i had this. The stick does come with some trial encryption software and other utilities which some may find helpful, but i erased all of these before use, so cannot rate them here. Data could be encrypted before put on the stick with your own software. The Cruzer Micro is immediately recognised via USB in both XP and Linux (openSUSE). Overall: very pleased for what i use it for, but not fast enough for Vista Redayboost though. And so small beware not to loose it (lanyard is included)... Read review

...difficulty once when the device wouldn't eject through its launchpad (thing like the windows start menu) but I sorted that easily by disconnecting through windows explorer. As an added bonus, if you lose any of the original data on the device, SanDisk allow you to download it and sort out your device.... Read review

Advantages: Rugged - lots of software available

Being U3 drives, they come with a suite of software, some preinstalled (I believe a password store is one of the default programmes), some free to download (the OpenOffice Suite) and some which you pay for. All the software is available to download via links the USB pen itself. I was also surprised to find, after upgrading to Windows Vista from XP, that the USB pen works no problem with Vista. If you don't want to use this pen as a U3 drive, you can uninstall the software on the USB pen and use it as a normal USB drive. You can also turn off the password protect feature, if this is not needed. Conclusion All in all, I've found the SanDisk Cruzer Micro U3 drives to be excellent devices. I think the 2GB version was less than £10, which is not the cheapest 2GB drive out there, but for durability I'm happy to pay it. I make use of a lot... Read review

...Because i am a Student and need to transfer quite a bit of data regularily, i needed a Flash drive that: 1. Had a large capacity 2. Was small enough to carry around without being inconvenienced and can be removed easily from many computers 3. Would not break easily Now with my old flash drive it was quite big in size and didnt have a very large capacity so i thought i needed a new one. From looking at all the comments made about this product i thought it was a steal and had to get it!! The SanDisk Cruzer Micro is the usual hot swappable device (can be changed whilst the computer is on) and is accessed using a usb slot on you computer. It runs on a USB 2.0 which means it is the newer version of USB meaning transfer speeds are quicker, yet it is also backwards compatible. ...I was looking for a small flash drive to use between my home computer and the one I use at work.I am currently on a part time University Course so have the potential to be completing work on either computer so needed any easy transfer system. An internet search pointed me in the direction of the Sandisk Cruzer as being one of the best in terms of value.Mine cost £10.99 from Play.com including delivery and lanyard. The drive is incredibly small and the usb port slides out from within the drive so there is no need for a cap which is one less thing to loose. Where this drive differs from many is in th fact that it comes preloaded with U3 programs.In effect it means that you can have such things as anti-virus and web browser on your flash drive which you can then use on the host computer.Its worth having just for the anti-virus program alone...
