Advantages: Superb horses and some great eye candy for the ladies
Disadvantages: Horrible fod, revolting wine, uncomfortable seats and miserable staff

Whilst on holiday in Tenerife this summer 2007, our tour representative did a reasonable job on her sales pitch by convincing me to book another of her excursions. Not only had I just booked a Catamaran cruise for an afternoon but I had now also paid my euros to spend an evening at the Castillo San Miguel for a Medieval Evening. I did not visit during the day so cannot comment on what is available at this time.
If you are ever holidaying on the island of Tenerife, then please read on before you commit yourself to a very different evening's entertainment.

San Miguel!
Advantages: reasonable strength, refreshing, tasty, cheap.
Disadvantages: not for repeated consumption.
...San Miguel Premium is a very tasty lager beer thats got a really sweet, refreshing aftertaste that is great for the cash. If you fancy a bit of a change, it is definitely worth a try. Like any alcohol, it is best enjoyed in moderation. However this one moreso, as it starts to get a little bit sickly after the third or fourth pint. It is something to drink between different beers, if not on its own. -- Definitely not something you can drink all night.
Its best to buy in a supermarket as it is disproportionately cheaper than in a pub. It is available in ASDA and TESCO in both cans and bottles. It is thirst-quenching and best served chilled and is often enjoyed in hot climates. As the name may have led you to believe, it is very popular in Spain and is the strongest export of Spanish Beer.
4%. ABV.
Summary: A fine Spanish Beer...

San Miguel Tapas Restaurant in Greenwich
Advantages: Loud and lively atmosphere
Disadvantages: Slow service
...As a resident of Greenwich, I have tried many restaurants in the area but undoubtedly the San Miguel Tapas Restaurant has the worst customer service in Greenwich. A friend and I booked well ahead of time a table in this restaurant only to find ourselves waiting half an hour for our table. We stood waiting for our table with no notice from the staff to how long we were going to wait. The lack of hospitality made the wait long and tedious but we were determined to find out what the food was going to be like. Eventually we noticed that people who did not book a table were being seated before us and promptly asked why this was so. The rude Head of Service said that it "could be 5min, 10min or 50min so what do you want me to do". We explained how we had booked a table and would like to know how much longer we had to wait. Not longer than 30...

An alphabetic tour of Sao Miguel.
Advantages: Relaxing, stunning scenery and still unspoiled!
Disadvantages: Cuisine lacking in fancy menus.
...Sâo Miguel also known as the Green Island is 65 kilometres long and 16 kilometres wide. It is the largest of the islands making up the Azores. The island is made up of several volcanic groups, the black lava fields form a dark coastline dotted with a handful of beaches, but the green hills provide some splendid scenery, and every turn (and there are many!) along the windy roads unfolds some wonderful surprises.
In the east the highest point is Pico da Vara standing 1,103 metres tall, in the centre is the Sierra de Água do Pau, with a volcanic Lake called Lagoa do Fogo. In the west are the smaller volcanoes, and the highest point is about 900metres, one of the most popular places to visit called the Caldeira das Sete Cidades, where the ground still rumbles and geysers boil and streams flow with the water of hot springs. There are two...

The man from Mallorca he says yes!
Advantages: good authrntic Spanish food
Disadvantages: expensive desserts, some portions tiny
...I am always wary of restaurants saying they have authentic cuisine when often it is as authentic as Dick van Dyke's cockney accent, so when a native of a country praises a restaurant you know it is rather good.
San Miguel is not only a terrible Spanish lager but also a rather good tapas bar and Spanish restaurant specialising in fish and seafood on Greenwich Church Street right in the hear of maritime Greenwich very near the Cutty Sark DLR station and Greenwich Market.
I had been to San Miguel three times previously (once with a seafood loving fmember of the reviewing community) and have always had a good meal there. I went recently with a Mallorcan who had never dared to eat tapas in England as he felt he would be let down with the English idea of Tapas, so San Miguel really had to deliver and it did.
My visit like all bar...

A nice Light Lager
Advantages: Refreshing. Light. Pleasant Flavour
Disadvantages: A tad expensive
...The origins of San Miguel go back to 1890 in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, and the brewery was founded by a Spaniard.
Although San Miguel have a brewery in Spain it is regarded by many people in Asia as a famous beer from the Philippines.
San Miguel has an alcohol content by volume(ABV) of 5.4% and is now quite widely available not only in Spain but also in the UK and a number of other countries in Europe,North America,India and other parts of Asia.
If you travel to South or South East Asia you will have no difficulty finding San Miguel and this lager is a big selling brand in that region,as it is in Spain.
It is certainly a refreshing drink and has a nice amber colour. It pours well and I personally prefer to drink it chilled, although it is still
acceptable at room temperature. To me it has a light...

Viva Espagne
Advantages: Smooth and easy to drink
Disadvantages: Taste of preservatives initially
...How many of you are aware that Spain is Europe’s third largest producer of beer.
The only two countries surpassing Spain are Germany and the U.K.
The most famous of Spain’s beers and the most well known is San Miguel.
The Spanish beer industry dates back over a 100 years and San Miguel was first produced in 1957.
The origins of San Miguel go all the way to the Philippines where Spanish monks started making beer by using traditional methods. The monks lived in Manila and in a district called “San Miguel”. This is how the name came about.
Today San Miguel is not only Spain’s leading beer brand but also one of the leading brands in the Far East. I personally have consumed this on a regular basis whilst visiting Hong Kong and Singapore several years ago.
San Miguel accounts for around 80...

Beer from the Spanish Main - In Hereford
Advantages: Great genuine beer
Disadvantages: Accept no substitutes
...I have to admit to a degree of confusion about San Miguel Beer. I had thought originally that I was writing a review about one of the mainstream lager beers from Spain - San Miguel Premium Export lager. I have tasted it in its native country (both bottled and on draft) and thoroughly enjoyed both.
When I started to do some background research I did find a web site for San Miguel beer - but from the Philippines. There is also a site giving the ten reasons why this is the Preferred Beer of the Provisional Peoples' Democratic Republic of Diego Garcia!! Although San Miguel does have breweries in Spain it is regarded by many people in the rest of the world as a beer from the Philippines. Its origins go back to 1890 in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, when the brewery was founded by a Spaniard.

My SM experience
Advantages: Crisp, refreshing and thirst quenching
Disadvantages: Not a lot of character or complexity
...For me, one of the great things about travelling is having the chance to sample the many different beers that are sometimes hard to find back home. SAN MIGUEL however, doesn't really fall into this category as it's widely available in supermarkets in the UK for around a quid a bottle.
In fact Spain is not really the best country in the world to visit if your sole purpose is gorge on top quality, innovative brews...but the weather is a whole lot better than in Belgium, that's for double-damn sure.
Yes sirree, it can get really hot under that Mediterranean sun and what could be better on a scorching day than a small cold one? Apart from a large, ice-cold half-a-dozen, that is.
So when I was recently in Spain I really had no option but to partake of that most famous Spanish/Philippinno beer...SAN MIGUEL.

Stick in a lime. Stick in a lime.
Advantages: A refreshing tasty beer.
Disadvantages: Hard to track down at the offy.
...I love beer. I know that will not shock anyone who knows me on my normal Friday nights out but are you aware of what beers I drink?
We all go for Budweiser if there is nothing else because, well, everywhere sells bottle of Bud dont they?
It is possibly for this reason that so many people are missing out on the other bottled delights waiting for them in the chiller cabinet.
Maybe it is because these beers are not trendy that they do not get drunk. Maybe it is because they are not as well advertised.
One thing is for sure. If you have not tried it, Busweiser is no match for the cool refreshing taste of San Miguel.
Most of you that have been on a Mediterranean Holiday will probably recognise the San Miguel Beer. It is a firm favourite in the resorts of Spain and the islands.
It was more trendy in the early 90's with the "package...
