San Remo in style
Advantages: Luxury par excellance!
Disadvantages: Snobby staff!
...We booked this holiday through an Irish travel company called Abbey travel based in Dublin and although it was expensive (Italy usually is expensive in my opinion), we loveld the look of the hotel.
Flight was to Nice form Dublin with a personal taxi transfer to San Remo at hurtling speeds across the French/Italian border.
The hotel is very grand indeed and would be a lovely place to take your most precious partner for a luxurious break and a bit of pampering. It really is 5 star in all aspects.
The rooms are sumptious and the decor is right out of an antique catalogue, the clientelle are all well heeled and the atmosphere is like out of a 1930's novel with Brits abroad emulating the grand tour of the 18th century.
As we are in Italy, it goes without saying that the food was gorgeous throughout our stay and the Italian style...

San Remo CD34 - Style, Performance AND subtlety?
Advantages: Panel Release - Lots of Features - Great Price
Disadvantages: Screen susceptible to Glare.
...I bought this head-unit over a year ago now for about £80. It's now much cheaper than this, but at £80 it was great value.
The front panel is attractive and looks great on the dashboard. It looks striking but doesn't use garish colours like other popular brands, Alpine, Sony, Clarion etc. The white on black display is also very nice, but is susceptible to glare if you're using it in the midday sun!
Feature-wise, the San Remo CD34 is rich. It features a great EQ allowing you to manipulate Bass and Treble, and also what's called X-Bass, which is a nifty tool for creating harmonics above a certain sub-bass note which allows the ear to perceive lower harmonics than are actually present. Great if you have speakers unable to replicate deep bass frequencies. It also has 3 EQ presets, Rock, Classical and Pop, which are useful for quick...

Sanremo: when a name isn't a guarantee
Advantages: A famous place
Disadvantages: Prices
...of this medieval structure is completely lost thanks to a real invasion of ciosks, drin stalls, bookstalls, souvenir-stalls, and so on.
They sell everything in these beautiful lanes, and I can assure you that the show isn't one of the best! More of this, it is quite impossible to walk, 'cause of the crowd that in summer overrun Sanremo.
In my opinion, a very sad show: Sanremo doesn't look like a city but only like a huge market.
There is only one monument in Sanremo that deserves a visit, the church of San Siro, constructed at the beginning of the XII century it on the basis of the remaining structures of a
paleocrhistian church.
The best thing that can be seen in this church is a bas-relief on the left lateral door, carving directly in the stone.
Speaking of the sea I must notice that the beach of Sanremo is narrow crowded...

Truly classy
Advantages: Cheap, full of character, welcoming
Disadvantages: Smoking is allowed (an advantage to some I suspect!), shared bathrooms
...I stayed here in November last year, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
Accommodation in San Francisco is very expensive - apparently it is the second most expensive city in the US after New York. But the San Remo is very reasonable, clean, welcoming and full of character.
We stayed here for about £40 a night, after negotiating with the manager (it was the off-peak season).
The hotel is situated in a nice, quiet area of San Francisco, very near North Beach. We walked here every morning and ate breakfast on the pier whilst listening to the Sea Lions and overlooking Alcatraz - the pier is very quiet in the mornings.
The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and individual furniture. Each room is uniquely furnished. The hotel is decorated with antique art and furniture and Victorian touches - it...

Phenomena with a budget at a historic hotel
Advantages: An inexpensive hotel in a decent neighborhood, clean, really kewl claw-foot bathtub, haunted
Disadvantages: Some poorly-designed shower rooms, inattentive chambermaid, parking accommodations are not the most convenient
...Let's face it. The biggest attraction for guests to the San Remo Hotel in San Francisco is the price. For anyone traveling on budget, it offers a bed and plumbing facilities at a rate that won't break the bank of someone with limited resources. I had stayed there when my British girlfriend, Jayne, came to visit a couple years ago. Even though it lacks most of the amenities offered by today's hotels, it has one other attraction newer ones don't have: ghosts. My boyfriend's, Russell's, birthday was coming up. He had never been to Alcatraz and had mentioned an interest in seeing it. After spending my last couple of birthdays with me in Arizona, I wanted to arrange something a little special for him on his. Despite the challenge to our privacy those two nights, I nonetheless found this little hotel charming and may have even...

Sunny San Diego
Advantages: Gorgeous scenery, sunshine
Disadvantages: transport links
...I visited San Diego last October due to a work meeting. As it was such a long way to travel I thought it would be a good idea to add on a few days holiday to explore the area with a friend who was coming along.
Getting There
There are direct flights to San Diego from London however at the time these were three times as expensive as a fare with stopovers in the US and with a friend coming I wanted our flights to be as cheap as possible. Our flights went from Heathrow to Washington where we changed planes for a flight to Chicago and then another change for a plane to LA, where we got our final plane to San Diego. This may seem too much for some, but for me it was great as the plane changing gave me a chance to stretch my legs. I think I would have found 13 hours cooped up in a plane too much! One thing I did ensure was that the route...

A San Frantastic Boutique Hotel
Advantages: The price, the location, the staff, the rooms, everything
Disadvantages: ...our shower was like needles
...Introduction:
So, we're stuck in Albuquerque, and have pretty much seen about as much desert as we can take. We've 'done' all there is to do. With a spare weekend on our hands, we decided to take advantage of our Geographical positioning and take a trip to somewhere on the west coast. I've always wanted to see San Francisco, and after looking into flights, we found some bargains. So off we go. We looked for reasonable hotels, and came across The Petite Auberge, it wasn't the cheapest we found, but it had an appealing charm that won us over, so we booked.
Company info:
The Petite Auberge is part of the Joie De Vivre chain, I found this information on their website: "Joie de Vivre Hotels is California's largest boutique hotel company. Started in San Francisco in 1987 by Chip Conley, while in his mid-twenties, Joie de...

San Andreas
Advantages: Massive Game, Great Graphics
Disadvantages:
...GTA San Andreas
Well this is the next great game in the series of GTA. It is so much bigger and better than the one before it. It allows for so much more interaction in the game. Now being able to do things such as going to the gym and play games etc it is just beyond all other gaming experiences.
I have found that the game is just totally massive there are three different islands which are all huge. I've had the game for over a year and still seem to be finding things to do. The main aim of the game is to get respect. You can do this by completing missions and advancing in the game. Another way in which to get respect would be to have great stamina and muscles etc.
The game has so much detail involved it's quite incredible. You start off at the beginning of the game trying to find your way home on a bicycle; this is the very...

San Miguel!
Advantages: reasonable strength, refreshing, tasty, cheap.
Disadvantages: not for repeated consumption.
...San Miguel Premium is a very tasty lager beer thats got a really sweet, refreshing aftertaste that is great for the cash. If you fancy a bit of a change, it is definitely worth a try. Like any alcohol, it is best enjoyed in moderation. However this one moreso, as it starts to get a little bit sickly after the third or fourth pint. It is something to drink between different beers, if not on its own. -- Definitely not something you can drink all night.
Its best to buy in a supermarket as it is disproportionately cheaper than in a pub. It is available in ASDA and TESCO in both cans and bottles. It is thirst-quenching and best served chilled and is often enjoyed in hot climates. As the name may have led you to believe, it is very popular in Spain and is the strongest export of Spanish Beer.
4%. ABV.
Summary: A fine Spanish Beer...

The discreet charm of the Casa San Blas
Advantages: A five-star stay?
Disadvantages: ?with just three-star facilities
...simplicity often trumps ritzy ostentation. Attentive service matters, but nothing is nastier than the kind of smarmy obsequiousness that always seems to mask a sneer. And so on. Maybe it's simply down to that indefinable essence known as character or personality.
These inconsequential musings are prompted by my trying to pinpoint what it was about the Casa San Blas at Cusco that I liked so much. The hotel is certainly not without its limitations and even its failings, but it's a nevertheless a charming and delightful place to stay. Let's try to summarise what it has to offer.
* Location *
The Casa San Blas is situated just a few minutes' walk from Cusco's Plaza de Armas (central square), and is therefore convenient for all the main sights of the ancient Inca capital, such as the Qorikancha (Sun Temple), the Cathedral...
