Advantages: friendly people, rooms, pools, public areas very well looked after, different themes everyday
Disadvantages: food variation... but what was out was tasty!

.... Unfortunately as stunning as the beach was, it was filled with beach sellers everyday so no sunbeds or relaxing down there! The complex also had a group of monkeys running around which were so funny and were great fun to watch... just make sure you close your balcony door when you go out!!! Animation were very good, all different activites throughout the day although did leave you alone if you wernt interested. However if you take part you will get colored beads that you can swap in the gift shop, which is probably one of the cheapest hotels gift shops i have stayed in! Evening entertainment was not too great, even the caribbean do it better, they do try, but we gave up by the 3nd night and chilled out in the bar. Sun, sea, sand oh & the sex on the beach

Advantages: Very clean, excellent service & lovely weather
Disadvantages: Attracts a lot of kids, not excellent evening entertainment

...Last September I was planning mine and my boyfriends first holiday and we wanted it to be good as it was our first holiday away together and we had a whole year to pay for it so we didn't mind what we spent. After browsing the net for a good couple of hours and a lot of good reports from friends and relatives we decided on the Dominican Republic. I had a look at all the usual websites you check to get the most competitive price and I decided on booking with Portland direct who are a direct sell agent (that are part of the big Tui group including Thomson etc) After having a look through all the hotels and prices I finally settled for the 4* Gran Ventana beach resort in Playa Dorada (if you wondered why I keep using the term I it is because my boyfriend doesn't have any part in anything like this as it is my job and he is just lazy...

Lily Beach Island Resort Maldives

Advantages: Medium Size, Pool, Good Staff, Trips, Beach
Disadvantages: Sea Wall, Rough Sand, Green/Green Decor

...on the sand bank but you have to pay for these. There is a board in the main reception you put your name down on and just turn up. There maybe more on offer now as the Front of house manager was asking how could he improve the trips and evening entertainment as take up was not that good -Diving There is a very good dive centre on Lily Beach run by Ocean Pro who have loads of sites around the maldives Veligandu, velavaru, Merrufenfushi, Helengeli, Coco Palm and Lily Beach Although I didnt dive as I only passed my Padi OW and AOW in the june 2005. There were a team of divers from S.W.A.T out there possibly looking at the aftermath of the Tsunami. As always in the maldives, Nitrox is in at this resort. I can not comment on the dive sites as I did not dive but from reading book the South Ari Atoll is one of the best -Watersports There is...

Review of Golden Sands Resort

Ronil Beach Resort - Baga Beach, my experience

Advantages: Good setting on Baga Rd, close proximity to bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Could be noisy at the front of the hotel

...After exploring the resort, I would say that the The Ronil Beach Resort appeared to be one of the better hotels in Baga, although the decor in the rooms is tired and the bathrooms need re-furbishing, this is the only downside - there is room service, laundry service and fresh towels daily. Most important of all it is CLEAN. The staff are brilliant, always smiling, polite and very hard working. Our room was in one of the two storey blocks beside the main pool area, which was a sanctuary. In the rooms closer to the front of the hotel, the traffic noise from the busy and sometimes chaotic road would have been unbearable. The air con is FREE and can be left switched on even when you are out. We travelled in April/May when the heat can be relentless, even at night, so this was a big benefit. Calis Beach resort

Advantages: Small town, close to other resorts
Disadvantages: getting big

...Calis Beach, trips you can book from a stall to ones you book with your rep. Overall, like most Turkish resorts, you will find lots to do and friendly people. On the other hand you will find the odd person that will try to rip you off. So as with all places you visit (including the UK) take precautions with your money. Use the safe in the hotel and only take what you need for the day. You can always go the next day to buy something you wanted. I found Calis a very slow resort and many Turkish families thier on holiday which made it even better. It is all on the flat but has high kerbstones, so if you are a bit disabled you need to take your time. You can still get over roads because of cuts in the kerbs....

What is the first thing you would look for? Did anyone say "beach?" Yes, me too. Well, this appears not to have been the case for those designing the Elysium Beach Resort! The hotel is very elegant, comfortable, beautifully designed, the rooms are nice, the food is good, the pools cold but picturesque - but unfortunately there is no beach to speak of. GETTING THERE: It?s quite a long drive from Larnaca airport, about an hour and a half. However if you flew into Pafos airport then it would only be 15 minutes from the hotel. ...I was looking forward to my stay at plush four star Cable Beach Club Resort in Broome, Western Australia. According to their advertising material, I could expect Asian serenity and Colonial Indulgence. It sounded great and friends had recommended it as a very pleasant place to stay. In total, I spent three nights here. Because it was included in a coach tour package that I'd booked, I didn't make a booking specifically for the hotel itself. However let it be said that the room rates vary. I saw one website (discoverwest.com.au) which was offering rooms from $A155 (incl breakfast) plus a free camel ride, but other quotes elsewhere were much more than this. Structure of the resort In the morning it was easy to see that actually our monster of a resort was going to be easy to move around, the whole resort was made of a huge reception and main entrance, around 30 hotel buildings, a main restaurant, a man made stream and lake, two swimming pools which were huge a beach and beach bar and lots of greenery and things i have probably forgotten. The Beach We spent a few days of our holiday on the beach, it was a long stretch and full of sun beds and umbrellas. Luckily thanks to the time of year it was, even though the resort was very full of people, it was easy to find a quiet corner if we needed one. ...I was lucky enough to be invited to a wedding at the Bougainvilleas resort in Barbados. So off I went with 16 other people including my husband. The group ranged in age from 25 - 80 so werent sure quite what to expect. Well the holiday got off to a bad start as our flight was 11 hours late, but never mind that is not the hotels fault! CHECK IN: Well we did arrive at two in the morning so the poor night steward couldnt really cope - it took an hour to check us all in. Never mind the place is lovely at night and they brought us some rum punch and apple juice to drink whilst waiting. ROOM: We had a "deluxe studio" which was on the ground floor. It had a comfortable double bed, satellite TV, a sofa and table. There was a kitchenette with kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer and hot plate so you could cook your own meals. WELCOME...
