...Although this mp3 player is only 1" diagonally what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality and features. I found this product so simple to use that i would recommend it for younger or less experienced users. Features include a built in microphone and a built in fm tuner as well as a handy clip which can be clipped onto virtually anything making it the ideal compact mp3 player for anybody on the move. Installing the mp3 player onto my laptop and pc was very easy and uploading music was very fast. 1gb is the perfect size to hold music as well as picture and text documents. I would also recommend this for anyone looking for excellent sound quality and value for money....

Sandisk Sansa M240 1GB MP3/WMA Player

The player will accept MP3 and WMA (these are the only formats I use) With WMA files, I have achieved approx 350 tracks on the 1GB memory. Playing time on a single AAA battery is approx 15 -18 hours, which is pretty good. Sandisk would have done better by building in a rechargable battery into this player. However, having a changable battery makes it more flexible if you're away from a computer for a long time. The battery cover is a little flimsy for my liking. Don't get me wrong, it won't fall off, but i would keep the player in the supplied plastic cover jus to be safe. Look into the blue light! Sandisk Sansa M240 1 GB MP3 Player

Advantages: great sound quality, plenty of functions, simple, easy to use, nice display colour!
Disadvantages: occasional 'crashes', mine won't transfer files any more :-(

...About three or possibly even four years ago I bought a Sandisk Sansa M240 1 GB mp3 player from Amazon, it was quite a bargain price, seemed pretty simple and straightforward, which was ideal for me as I had never had one before, and didn't require many bells and whistles, and it came with all the headphones, cables, and driver disks you need to begin use. Mine also came with a clear silicon case to protect it. It is light, it is small, and it works well. For a budget mp3 player I found this terrific, and the sound quality is actually pretty good too. I hooked it up to my pc with the supplied cable, and copied over a my Learn German series so I could listen to them anywhere, learning the language subliminally perhaps, and this has also worked very well. Advantages: Fairly large memory, extra downloadable applications available and retractable USB connector
Disadvantages: None

...difficulty once when the device wouldn't eject through its launchpad (thing like the windows start menu) but I sorted that easily by disconnecting through windows explorer. As an added bonus, if you lose any of the original data on the device, SanDisk allow you to download it and sort out your device....

Ipod shuffle 1GB

...I was brought one of these ipod shuffle, 1 gb for Christmas. Ｉhave previously owned an ipod nano and have to say that I much prefer the shuffle, I have found it much more easy to use and more easy to attach to my clothing whilst using it in the gym. The battery life lasts ages, at least 7 hours and can be charged up by a wide variety of methods so its very easy to do so whatever the circumstances. It holds approximately 240 songs which is adequate for my needs, and itunes makes it very easy to chop and change the tracks I want on there quickly by connecting to the computer by a usb cable. 1GB Memory Stick with Neck Lanyard

Advantages: Looks Pretty Good, LED Light displays when in use, Small in Size
Disadvantages: 1GB may not be enough for everyone, Easily Lost

...and the operating system automatically recognizes and installs it for you! Upon first connecting the device to a computer it takes around 30 seconds in my case for the memory stick to be displayed and open under 'My Computer'. It also worked on an Apple Mac laptop. The stick allegedly holds 1GB of data, but mine will store up to 975MB. Although 25MB short of what it has been advertised to store, this is a marked improvement from a typical hard drives' advertised capacity and what you can actually get. 975MB is still enough to hold a 700MB SD movie, 250ish songs or a bunch of pictures and documents. This memory stick has served me well the last half-year or so but I will be spending my money on a larger, at least 2GB memory stick in the near future as my portable media needs grow. I regularly add and remove files from it and have never had any problems with it. If like me you use it for film storage as well as mp3's and pictures and find yourself constantly updating the contents then after a while it will tend to slow down a bit but if inserted into a PC card reader and defragmented you will regain this lost access speed making it good as new again. This card will store up to 12,000 640x480 photo files, about 5 hours worth of mp3's at a bit rate of 96kbps or 4 full length divx encoded films in a resolution of 300x220.
