A Sandy Beach

Advantages: Just delicious
Disadvantages: absolutely none

...The sun has in the last few days kindly popped her head out of the dark dreary grey clouds which have hovered ominously above. She has reminded us that shortly temperatures will rise and summer will finally have arrived, and with it the delights that can only best be enjoyed in such glorious conditions. Ice Creams, and other delicious summer goodies will be on display and offer to tempt us into the vast array of confectionery delights for which a scorching summers day was made for. The casual stroll along the hot dusty sandy beach can only really be enjoyed to the full if one hand has the customary Ice firmly in its grip. There are many delights on offer and everyone no doubt has their own particular favourite, but I suspect that the one which I am reviewing today is very high on most peoples list being that it is not just Ice...

Sandy and clean Pefkos beach.

Advantages: Clean goldan sandy beach and clear shallow water.
Disadvantages: gets very crowded

...The island of Rhodes does lack one thing, and that is really nice sandy beaches. Most of them, including nearby Lardos and even the beaches of Faliaraki are a little stony and containe a good deal of shingle. Pefkos beach however is one of the best on the island for clean golden sand and clear shallow water that is ideal for families. For about 8 Euros you can hire two sunbeds and umbrella for the whole day. The sunbeds do really dominate the beach which is only about 400 metres long and no more than 20 metres deep, so there is very little room for you to just arrive with your towel under your arm and lay where you want. If you are content to lie relaxing in the sun and go for a really refreshing swim in calm shallow waters then this is the beach for you. Advantages: Immensely likeable golfer

Advantages: Easy parking, right on the beach, enough to keep you occupied all day.
Disadvantages: Seaweed

Camper vans and caravanetes are welcome but not towing caravans. **** THE BEACH ****** Not as busy as Bournemouth, Sandbanks or Boscombe Beach, Mudeford still has all the amenities needed for a good day out on the sand or even a longer stay if you so wish. Great disabled access, there is a large walkway along the brick wall where most wheel chair users sit and admire the coast line. The part shingle and part sandy beach is clean and tidy. When the tide goes out you can paddle with your children over to the sandbank. With no nasty dips in the water, it's quite safe for smaller ones to walk out to this point...

A Real Peach of a Beach!!

Advantages: A beautiful clean beach with something for everyone!
Disadvantages: It's so far away!!

...We usually like to try a new place every year for our summer holidays but this year we decided to return to the resort of Puerto Rico on the island of Gran Canaria after staying there last year. One of the main reasons for the return was the fact that we loved the apartments we had stayed in last year and the other main reason was for the wonderful Amadores Beach. Not being a family of beach lovers after visiting this beach once, we were totally hooked and just couldn?t get enough of it! I really can't get enough of Sandy Balls!

...Now that I have your attention. I don't mean the kind that you lot are thinking of but come to mention it though? Hmmmmmmmmm........ No. Stop it at once Shirley! I mean Sandy Balls Holiday Centre on the edge of the picturesque New Forest in Hampshire. It's like a small one off Center parcs. You can choose to stay in a ready tent, mobile home type place or lord it up in a lodge or superior lodge. The things is once you are there you get peace and quiet and relaxation. And yes it is geared up for families! The most impressive thing for me about the place was the staff. They actually care! Quite a mean feat these days, me thinks. They are friendly, efficient and get on with their task as soon as asked. The second thing were the facilities. Two swimming pools, one in and one outdoors. Two toddler pools, a jacuzzi and a sauna too...

Bondo or 'Boondi' is an Aboriganal name meaning 'Water breaking over rocks' or 'noise of water breaking over rocks' It is a 1 kilometre stretch of lovely sandy beach but not as tranquil as I would have liked, in fact it was over crowded with holiday makers and a squeeze to find a spot to sunbathe. I would highly recommend the Coogee to Bondi Beach walk, this is great day out and a chance to experience some of the smaller beaches along the way. The Bondi Market is worth a visit, held each Sunday 10am 5pm, Bondi also offers a varity of coffee shops and eating places.
