Sanford Airport worth the extra drive

Advantages: Very quick to exit the terminal
Disadvantages: not a great range of shops

...Although Sanford Airport is a bit of a drive away from the Disney area and a very small airport if you want to get to your destination as quickly as possible this is the better choice than Orlando, dont let the drive put you off as each time we have still managed to reach the kissimee area an about one hour less than we would have by arriving at Orlando airport! From touch down to actually exiting the terminal building its a very quick process, and the car rental station is as simple as crossing the road, all done on foot and as soon as you are out of the building you can get the cigarettes out ( after a 8 hour plus flight thats got to be good for smokers ). Advantages: Cast, performances, very funny
Disadvantages: None for me but some may find it silly

Perfectly good budget travel to the USA

Disadvantages: Limited entertainment options and limited baggage allowance.

...Gatwick to Orlando Sanford - have flown with all the major carriers across the pond at least 4 times annually for over 10 years - this is no worse than most, and rather better than some. Disadvantages - if theres a problems with your plane (didn't apply to us) you are in for a long wait. Entertainment somewhat limited until new aircraft come online (october 2008). Food is swill and leg room limited - in neither case appreciably more so than other scheduled competitors on this route. Oh, and you are limited to 20 kg baggage. You'll end up at Sanford, not Orlando International - longer drive to get to and from, but customs and baggage retrieval much quicker. Advantages? You'll save a bundle - over £250 a head in our case. If you share my philosphy that long haul economy air travel is for enduring rather than enjoying, and you can stand...

Squeeze Into Airtours

...Ever wonder what sardines feel like in those small tins? Take a flight with Airtours, and you can enjoy a startlingly realistic simulation. My experience with the airline has been on the Gatwick to Sanford/Orlando route - a long flight to begin with. The fact that it is impossible to get comfortable makes it seem much, much, longer. Add a few screaming kids, the obligatory drunk, and painfully average food, and you have eight hours that make you wish you paid the extra to fly Virgin! At least I did. On the positive side, the flight crew was quite good, and the planes are all modern, and of course, it's cheaper. I look at it as a rite of passage - survive the flight, and enjoy spending the savings at Disney!...
