iPod Nano 8 GB - Make mine black.

Advantages: user friendly, easy to read screen, widely accessible software, lot of additions
Disadvantages: Expensive to buy additions, no installation software, heavy reliance on internet connection

...The Apple iPod nano is by far my favourite of all the Apple products I can actually afford - and I don't think you can go past the 8 GB version. Not only does it come in all the crazy colours (black, silver, pink, green, blue and if you're lucky, red), it's the most attractive in both screen and body for all of the smaller versions of the iPod. The playback abilities of this model makes the 8 GB version a necessity - otherwise you can't fit a substantial number of songs and videos on at the same time. While the screen is small and can make watching videos somewhat less impressive, the resolution is good enough to stop it from being a pointless exercise. The screen resolution is also pretty good for game-play, as well - the iPod comes with three games included. The iPods are pretty user friendly once you master the click wheel...

...After a bike accident in which smashed my old ipod nano 1G and after 3 days in hospital without it to listen to i bought a IPOD NANO 3G Black 8GB, it i great the sound quality is good with new headphones however the ipod earphones are not great and it has a equalizer to match the sort of music you play, and the amount to choose from is huge, the screen is incredibley bright and clear and can be adjusted and when playing video the quality was way better than my digital TV. 8GB is plenty of room for movies and music as the videos are compressed for ipod compatibility. The itunes software does not allow you to do this however free programs are available that do. ...THE LAPTOP. It is around £20 to buy an adaptor to charge the device through the mains. Overall: I am really happy with my iPod and would recommmend it to anybody. The 8 GB is enough for around 1500 songs. The sound is good. One word of warning the headphones are fragiles. I have had two pairs as they ware our quickly. At £25 for a set it may be worth buying some aftermarket replacements if they do ware out....

...and the wheel doesn't feel awkward to move. It is smooth and works well, it seems a good move to place it on there, compared to buttons. The available colour choices depend on the memory size. You can get it in black (2GB,4GB), Red, Blue and Pink (All 4GB) and silver (8GB). The screen is about 2 inches and would be good quality if not for the plastic cover that is on the player (more about this in a minute). It isn't a fantastic sized screen but it does the job as this is an mp3 music player which has the added bonus of video and photos rather than the other way around. The screen is placed well on the player and is well protected from scratches or damage. The plastic cover i mentioned covers the whole front and is rather thick.
