Top Sante, Health and Vitality Magazine.

Advantages: Well written, topical and informative.
Disadvantages: Too much emphasis on the "body beautiful".

...In my stocking last Christmas, I recieved a small envelope in which looked quite intrueging. Inside the envelope was a subscription to one of my favourite magazines "TOP SANTE.Top Sante is, in my eyes classed as a "Special Magazine" and so I was pleased to recieve this gift as it meant I wouldn't have to splash out every month. The name Top Sante, comes from the french word "health". This indicates before you even read the magazine, that the contents will mainly be health related. It frequently has free gifts and sign up offers that are more expensive than the magazine. The sign up offer i got was worth £35,i got piggypoints and i am only paying £26 for a years worth of magazines!! The current price is £2.80 and i think that this is good value(even if its not what i am paying)The magazine comes out monthly. The magazine is made up 7 "experts" who are extremely knowledgeable about their areas so you can be sure the information you are getting is accurate Each magazine contains articles such as healthy eating plans,switching food you like for lower fat "similar" versions ,question and answer pages... A Top Health and Beauty Magazine

Advantages: Colourful. Glossy. Good Value. Informative
Disadvantages: Lots of adverts

...",although to be frank not a very good one.Features seem to vary between 500 to 1500 words and most are very well illustrated. I understand they are quite a good market for well qualified freelance writers and pay god rates of around 200 pounds per 1,000 words. No wonder they attract a lot of good writers. Top Sante has a good,glossy ,feel about it and gives the appearance of being a quality publication.There is a very "professionl" look about it and the writing standards are high. On the downside it does seem to carry a lot of adverts for the likes of expensive shampoos but I suppose the economics of publishing is such that substantial revenue has to be generated through advertising. For such a colourful,glossy,magazine its cover price of 2 pounds can, I would suggest,be considered most reasonable !...

I was tickled pink on the outskirts of Barcelona

Advantages: Fantastic rooms - they thought of almost everything
Disadvantages: A long way from the centre of the city

...experienced at the Hesperia Sant Just on the outskirts of Barcelona. Apparently you can pre-book a pink room at no extra cost so I'm not sure if that's what our secretary did or if I was just randomly assigned to a Pinkie. I'd probably been in the room for about an hour before I twigged that something odd was going on. I'd vaguely registered that there was a glossy magazine on the coffee table but since it was in Spanish and since a lot of hotels have magazines, that hadn't triggered any thoughts. I'd clocked the immense number of freebie toiletries in the bathroom including such non-standard delights as a bath sponge, conditioner, make-up removal towel, lip balm, deodorant, nail file and cotton buds but even with the discrete little box with tampons and sanitary towels, all I'd registered was 'hmm, I wonder if that's standard?' I'd marvelled...

Free CD this Month

...Every Thursday I pop along to WHS for a couple of magazines. Normally I buy Chat and Take a Break and on the odd occasion I buy Top Sante. I do have good intentions of getting myself healthy one day, so buying this magazine always puts me in the mood for a right good workout/diet etc. The September issue cost me £2.00 and with that I got a free CD worth 20p, no seriously I don't know about that. It's an Ultimate Relaxation CD with music for you to chill out with. I put it into my CD Rom drive whilst I was writing an op and nearly fell asleep . There are 15 tracks consisting of, Forest Dawn, The Swan, Water Echoes. The first two were very relaxing, there were the sounds of nature, birds tweeting, waters flowing. After the first few songs, they all started to sound the same. Oh well at least it was for free...

...Never in my wildest nightmares did I ever imagine that one day I would be writing an opinion on what is basically a “girly” magazine. But that day has come and no I have not flipped or had a sex change or anything like that. I was attracted to the magazine for one reason only. A few days ago I read an excellent opinion on Top Sante Health and Beauty that came with an audio CD in the September issue. This CD is a compilation of 15 tracks of mood music to relax to. I have never had any problems relaxing when wanting to, even in the noisiest of places (like a warship with all guns blazing) so the reader may wonder why I wanted such a CD. I was interested in the country and sea sound effects as a source for a project that I have in mind. It was claimed that the CD is worth £9.99 so paying £2.00 for a magazine seemed like...
