Sanyo PLC-SU20 A Good All-Rounder
Advantages: Very Robust, Well Constructed, Will Last A Lifetime!
Disadvantages: No lamp counter
...Sanyo PLC-SU20
The Sanyo PLC-SU20 multimedia projector is one of the best projectors in the world. Immediately, you are now going to be wondering why?!?!?! It's bulky, it's not very aesthetically appealing and it's hardly the best spec. in the world. But this is such a reliable projector!
I have owned several of these projector and not one has let me down. They just seem to go and go without fault. The projector's are very robustly made as it has been designed for portability.
The projector has a very handy fold out handle. This is very strong so you have no worries about it breakig after continuous use, When it's not in use, the handle folds away and sits flush with the side of the projector and is hardly noticeable.
This is one of Sanyo's earliest portable projectors. You can understand Sanyo's ranges quite easily. Every...

Quality projector, features for the user
Advantages: User friendly, Bright and good quality
Disadvantages: A recommended 3 metres from the screen or wall etc
...you can flip or rotate the picture to be the right way up, even if the image would normally be upside down).
There are plenty of sockets and connectors. You can connect the standard data cable (or VGA - Visual Graphics Array) to your laptop from the projector. You get audio and video sockets, which can be used to connect your VCR, DVD, etc upto it to have your own home cinema. The audio quality is fantastic and because it is either at the front or above your head you get a strong quality from the projector.
I have to say that Sanyo projector is quiet, well quieter than most projectors. You still get the fan noise, but isn't to bad.
Overall I would recommend this projector not so much on cost, but the features and useability....

Great Keystone - No ... not the cops.
Advantages: Bright - great keystone
Disadvantages: Bit pricey - speakers
...No hanging around with a flowery introduction - let's get straight to the point.
Great functionality - easy to set-up - superb brightness.
Expensive - poor sound.
In a nutshell those are the positive and negative points of this projector. For my overall opinion, read through to the end.
First of all allow me to explain the title for those that are not aware of keystone correction.
'Keystone' has to be the most bizarre term doing the rounds in technology today and if anybody can use their language skills and explain a little etymology of the word I would appreciate it as I have no idea where it comes from.
A data projector can be positioned absolutely in front of the screen, or above the screen shining down or below the screen shining up. Usually they are at least 5 feet from the screen to obtain a reasonably sized image...

Windows - XP, A life.
Advantages: Slighty more secure, everything is made to work on it
Disadvantages: Its windows, unstable.
...Firstly, and to avoid any confusion I will explain in brief terms what a service pack is and why it is necessary.
Whether it is down to bad testing, or a very limited time, Microsoft seem to have always had the problem of bringing out software before it was due. Example of this can be seen everywhere, and not just with the Operating Systems, in software as well, they always seem to leave programs half finished and add little bits and bobs back into them whenever the mood takes them. It is with this in mind that we see the complete necessity for service packs, they are basically updates en mass. Unless I am very much mistaken SP 2 was designed mainly to combat some security issues that had been found with the previous version of XP.
A problem arose with many people when they updated thier exsisting XP with this new service pack...

Experience Windows XP!
Advantages: Many features, reliable, OEM version is priced well.
Disadvantages: Vista is out, DX10 not supported (not currently an issue)
...Windows XP is the most commonly used version of Microsofts popular Windows operating system or OS. It is feature packed and has low requirements so it will run on most PCs.
The Look
Microsoft has really jazzed Windows XP up compared to the previous dull grey looks of Windows 2000. As soon as you boot into the Windows interface you will be greeted with a friendly blue Welcome screen with the colourful new Windows logo. To begin you simply click your username, which will be displayed along with a little picture of your choice, you can pick from a car, frog to a cute dog or add your own picture if you prefer. Once you have entered your password and clicked the green enter button you will be taken to the new Windows Desktop. Here the new look is also in full effect as we get a new blue Taskbar with a bright green Start button, along...

Windows XP
Advantages: Tried + tested
Disadvantages: Windows Vista soon?
...Lets face it - 90% of PC users use a Microsoft OS (operating system). The vast majority of those will be using XP. So you're not exactly going to be alone if you do decide to buy this.
So, is it a good idea to go with the masses? Yes. Unless you are really techy and know software and hardware as if it were your job. Then you might plump for Linux or something similar.
XP was released ages ago - about 2000 if memory serves correctly. As someone who started out on DOS, moved to windows 3.x, then Windows 98 and then XP (via Millenium for about 1 month ;) ) then I've had a history with OS's. XP is by far the most reliable - providing you do things properly then there is generally no problem.
If you are completely just after something that you are not going to fiddle with then - no problems. If you are likely to uninstall...

Windows Xp - Im Indifferent!
Advantages: very good stability
Disadvantages: Not Good for advanced users
...Installing XP
I booted off the CD, and started the install, which looked A LOT like Window NT 4?s install to start, but got VERY colorful and GIU-ish as I moved farther into the installation. Installing took me... about 45 minutes on my 1.4GHz AMD Duron with 512MB of RAM. Not bad, once you see how XP is.
Booting XP
First, I see my video card display information, and then it moves to my BIOS...
XP begins to boot?it says ?Microsoft WindowsXP? and has a NEW flag, and blue bars scrolling around. Having plenty of RAM, those blue bars only get almost one time around, before mines done, but I?ve seen 1.8GHz Celerons with 128MB RAM go about 22 times around there before it finished booting.
Using Windows XP!
XP now has a HORRIBLE welcome screen, where you can put in your username and password. This is UGLY! I chose administrator...

Windows is a XP above the rest
Advantages: internet Explorer 6, Windows Media Player 8, More Reliable, Compatible with nearly everything, it looks and feels great, Totally Customizible
Disadvantages: Costs around £75
...When i first bought my computer it had windows 98 Installed, this was okay for its time but i need to be with things nowadays. So after that i got Windows ME which i loved to pieces as it had everything such as Internet Explorer 5.5 and it just looked great. Then my friends told me all about how good windows 2000 was, I saw it at a friends house and i decided to get it. Little did i know about the compatability problems. When I installed 2000 everything went pear shape and it would hardly detect anything. Then windows Xp came along, this looked good and was also compatible with most things. I liked the look of Windows 2000 and the features of Windows ME so i decided to give Windows XP a go, and i was pleasantly suprised.
Cost

XP. The new generation
Advantages: Excellent multimedia functionality
Disadvantages: Incompatible drivers, software and hardware
...When Microsoft built it’s first operating system over 15 years ago, I sometimes wonder if, even in their wildest dreams, they thought it would become such a market force and the main o/s to be used on the majority of the world’s computers.
Yet, today they are producing the next generation of operating system. One for the future that can interact with all modern media types and formats as well as combining the retro engineering needed to make programs of yesteryear work correctly.
However, being a user of both of their current up to date systems, im not totally convinced that even they are on top of the diverse and sometimes incompatible world of mixed technologies.
Im going to talk here about Windows XP.
You have probably got this installed at home or at least heard about it if you have bought your computer within...
