The amazingly attractive and petite Sarah Michelle Gellar is truly the star of the show for the male audience, although her friend in fighting the evil vampires and daemons that come after her, Willow, is not too shabby herself! Ladies, if you are reading, don't despair, there is plenty of gratuitously handsome men to ogle over as well! The plot is generally full of little higher level jokes, meant to give the adult population a reason to watch the show aside from those mentioned above; these usually fall into two distinct categories which are very clever and funny, or completely useless and wasted. ...The only reason I had a watch of Jack and Sarah was the constant comments I kept reading about how Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl was little more than a remake of it. While there are certainly some similar plot points, on the whole though I would say that the two are entirely different. The best part though was finding a nice little film that I probably would have missed otherwise. Walking the line between drama and comedy is not an easy one for any film. If you're trying to push serious themes, it becomes difficult to crack jokes at the same time. Likewise, a dramatic event in a comedic film can be a very jarring experience that works against the film. Sarah Jane spins off from the Doctor

Advantages: Entertaining for the kids, not too frightening and good story lines
Disadvantages: The loud background music is sometimes too loud

..., but on the DVDs you get to watch them when ever you want to. And with each one being 25 minutes long you?re talking nearly an hour for each story, which is a good length to keep the kids from getting too bored, although with the freaky stuff going on in the show I doubt that they will get bored at all. As I said, my kids love this show and watch it at every opportunity, be it on the BBC channel or on DVD, so I have a great way to keep them quiet for at least an hour. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging.
