TomTom Wireless GPS Receiver 20 channel GPS receiver module

...I dont have a 20 channel receiver however I do have a 12 channel receiver which came in the box with my Tom Tom Navigator 5 for PDA, whichi I use in my Treo 680 Smart Phone. The whole thing works perfectly and I couldn't ask for more as Sat Nav goes. The GPS receiver looks identical to the 20 channel one shown here and if this one works as well as mine does then you can't go wrong. It has a matt cover which makes it stay put where ever you place it on the dashboard and in use I've found that it picks up a signal very quickly and once linked to the PDA by bluetooth it keeps the signal so long as it can see just a tiny bit of sky. Once linked I take the unit off the dash and place it on the floor of the car in between the seats and it keeps the signal through motorway tunnels and even during a traffice halt under a bridge! Great cheap Sat nav.

Advantages: Extremely easy to use, visually looks nice, has GPS updates via PC etc.
Disadvantages: Wish it came with a hard carry case for when not plugged in

...Well! I searched for a Sat Nav hoping to find something under £150 and was shocked to find this at £100. Really cheap price and seemed to come with a lot. I read that the Sat Nav included 'Points of Interest' such as hotels, restaurants and petrol stations and thought this was a great price to include all these features as well as the Microsoft Office package on the PDA. I was a bit bothered when it arrived though that it only came with a car charger, so how was I supposed to use the thing in my house? The only way of recharging the battery which was pretty much dead on arrival, was to sit in my car and wait (and get hounded by the environmental lot) or...to buy an AC power adaptor which cost £30-£40 (ridiculous price) So the first week I went without and just used the Sat Nav once to see if it worked, which it did...

nav-cam sat nav cheap as chips and great to use!!!

Advantages: Speed camera alerts bonus features such as mp3 and photos and low price tag.
Disadvantages: None that ive discovered so far.
