Advantages: Lovely maps and Intuitive
Disadvantages: 4-digit Postcodes and POI alerts are just not good enough

This is great if there are roadworks or your local knowledge about roads in your area allows you to plan a better than the SatNav when left to its own devices. The iCN 520 uses the same ?camera food? as my Vivitar 5355 ? SD memory cards up to 4GB but I have a 2GB in mine, which is sufficient for maps of; UK, Ireland, and all of mainland Europe to street-level. And if I go on holiday I can archive the SD card onto my computer and use it to store extra pictures taken with my digital...

Navman 320 - A Good Buy

...Navman have got it right in so many ways. There are a few grumbles I have but overall they have done very well. Are you looking to get the best Sat Nav system on the market with all the bells and whistles on it? No. Neither was I. To be honest what I needed was a basic system to tell me to turn at the correct point to ensure that I did not spend time getting lost and swearing loudly at anything and everyone. After browsing the net for a few days I found that I could get the 320i for just over £150 delivered. That to me seemed like very good value so I clicked away and got the system a few days later. The manual that came with it is quite poor to be honest. But within 10 mins I had plugged all the various bits in and waited to get signal to tell me where I was. Navman S30 3D Satnav

Advantages: Good sound quality, Excellent re-route calculation.
Disadvantages: Gets a litte confused in busy cities due to the volume of roads.

Navman ST raight through

Advantages: Gets you there, is upgradable
Disadvantages: Downloading can sometimes be slow

...across the top of the main screen indicating various options, one of which was upgrade PiN and verify software, after which a licence certificate is sent electronically to you PiN via the ST software. The 2 parts to the software are the Navman ST desktop installation and the actual Navman ST software for directions on your Sat Nav. The bottom portion of the screen has a world map which is shaded in various colours. The countries coloured in a yellow stripe are maps which you currently have keys to. These maps can subsequently be transferred to you PiN when necessary. Other maps can be purchased via the website link at the side of the screen. Advantages: Too many to list. Excellent value, efficient and easy to use
Disadvantages: It has a car charger, not an ac charger. Is that too bad?

NAVMAN My cheap reliable little helper

Advantages: Cheap, portable, back on track function, nearest parking and petrol buttons
Disadvantages: some of the mapping dater is a little small touch screen buttons

...After getting my last sat nav nicked I haven't been keen on getting another system, I finally made a decision to go out and get a replacement one, and the NAVMAN F20 seemed good value for money. Getting the device into the car up and running is really very easy really, simply attach the simple suction cup holder to a suitable place on the windscreen and plug in the cigarette lighter. Answer a few simple questions about the type of roads you like, etc. the navman is up and running. I didn't read the instructions, as it looked quite straightforward The only real problem I had was getting a fix on the GPS as you need to fix on to 4 satellites to get a lock on to your location The system is a little slow after entering in the information, so it's best to wait till the screen responses, otherwise it gets a little upset...

NavMan F20 gets you there

Advantages: Easy to use, Speed camera detection
Disadvantages: None

...of different countries. It can also be charged using a USB port. An added bonus of the NavMan is that it also has fixed speed canera detection. I have also had the chance to use a Tom Tom SatNav and in comparisson the NavMan F20 is so much better, looks better, maps are better and is so simple to use. I would recommend this over anything else....

...Well, having read the other reviews I doubt I can top them, very thorough, however there are some things I saw that I can fill in on. At the end of the day, if you have £250 to spend on Sat Nav, either you will be looking at Tom Tom One and Navman ICN520. The difference between the two is that the Tom Tom One uses 20 Channel GPS compared to the Navman which has 12, and that the Tom Tom One has 7 digit post code finder. So looking at the black and white, the Tom Tom One wins.... well actually not for me. Hence my title, "Friends" see, there is software out there that can make the Navman search for 7 digit postcodes. Not only that, but as the Navman runs on Windows CE and the Tom Tom One doesn't, it can also be turned into a PDA with a touch senstive screen. That means you can listen to music on it, play games and use other PDA...
