...If ever there's an offer to be had I will usually use it as a way to try out new products. I have a bit of a thing for trying out new sauces on my chips; I love Sweet and Sour or Sweet Chilli. However, I still love the originals like Tomato Ketchup and Brown sauce but if there's one thing I love for things like chicken dippers or nuggets then it has to be barbecue sauce! I love it but you can get so many variations, you just have to get it right and that is exactly where the product of HP's Wood smoke BBQ sauce comes in as it was my first time trying it. The sauce, the packaging is nothing which is particularly eye catching. I was in Tesco at the time one of the larger stores, so they had a bigger range of barbecue sauces. ...This recipe is enough for 4 people. This is most commonly served with chicken or beef. I have also seen this served with venison. Tip:- if using chicken fillets place each fillet in a piece of aluminium foil and wrap loosely (so there is air around the fillet) and cook in the oven at 200 C for an hour. The fillets will be extremely tender and go perfectly with this sauce. ...Pataks original curry sauces taste great, my favourite being the Dopiaza sauce, this is a mild/medium hotness. This sauce costs around £2 for a jar that serves around 4 people. I like this sauce because it is a much healthier alternative than the take aways and it tastes just as good in my opinion. There are only 110 calories in a serving of this sauce which is really good for a curry that tastes so good. Dopiaza sauce is a really nice and spicey curry that hasnt got too much of an edge to it, it tastes a bit more tomatoy than the other indian sauces and is my personal favourite. This sauce has no artifical colours or flavours and is a really nice healthy alternative to other indians that are on the market. ...Bisto cheese sauce has become an essential item in my house at the moment. I find that bland food such as rice and vegetables can get boring, but this sauce really helps put some flavour back in. It is one of the many sauces that Bisto have started to do, including white sauce, parsely sauce and chip shop curry sauce. It comes in a cardboard container with a plastic lid, the same as the gravy variety. It is very easy to use ? it is granules like the gravy and all you do is boil the kettle and pour it over the granules. The thing is everyone has a preference you either love Tomato Ketchup or you love Brown Sauce. ...So you like pasta, but can't find a sauce with that rich Italian flavour that you once tasted on holiday years ago and have longed since to find...? Cue Tesco's Finest Puttanesca Sauce (340g in a glass jar, simply heat, stir through 400g of pasta and serve 2 hungry or four people as a starter). It has a really rich, tomato taste, offset by the tang of capers and olives, spices and (it claims!) a smidgin of anchovy (although I couldn't detect any hint of fishiness!). Lidl`s offered me a helping hand, Loyd`s sauces were on offer at two for £2. more often than not I choose the less elaborate sauces, it is called erring on the side of caution as the Other Half isn't too keen on the unknown.
