Advantages: Good taste, nice sausages, very cheap, recyclable can
Disadvantages: No ring pull, beans aren't Heinz (but then they don't cost Heinz money).

...I recently purchased these when looking for some bargain lunch items from my local Tesco store. The can is aluminium and has a paper label with the familiar Tesco value logo as well as the heating instruction & nutritional information. There is no ring pull on the can but it's very easy to open with a can opener and this helps to keep the product nice and cheap so I don't mind at all. Once the can is opened I can see beans in tomato sauce with a few mini sausages poking out and it looks quite well proportioned as I throw the contents in to a saucepan and put them on the hob for a few minutes. I warm them through for about 5 minutes (without boiling them) whilst I am waiting for my toast to cook in the toaster. Once my toast is ready and buttered I spread the beans & sausages over the toast along with all of the tomato sauce...

A healthy sausage

...When it comes to sausages I am really fussy which is most unlike me as tend to like most things but sausages, they have to be just so, not gristle or fatty bits - yuk. My sausages have to be either hand made in my local farm shop preferably or Bowyers sausages. Bowyers are the only sausages I will buy for myself from the supermarket as I detest the taste of all the others. As there is no picture here I can tell you that Bowyers sausages are easy to locate amoungst the huge array that is offered these days in our supermarkets as the external packaging is mostly green with the main wording on the packet saying 'Less Than 5% fat' with the 5% being in the largest font. ...Although i'm not a vegetarian, i do like the quorn products and the great bonus for me is that they are syn free on the slimming world diet (See previous review). EEWWW quorn?!!? thats what a lot of you are probably thinking now as they are made with mycoprotein which is a member of the fungi family, nevertheless, its is a great low fat, high protien, high fibre product. Quorn sausages can usually be found in the frozen vegetarian section at supermarkets although they are some times found in the chilled section. In a 250g pack, you get 6 sausage, usually priced at around £1.48 which can seem a little expensive but as they contain less than 5% fat, less than 1% saturated fat and only 48 calories per sausage it does seem worth it. Wall's Sausages! Delicious & tasty!

Advantages: Great taste, easy to cook, good price
Disadvantages: High in calories but then they are sausages!

...Wall's thick sausages are available in the chiller section in Asda stores and cost £1.82 at present. The sausages are provided in a thick plastic wrapping and the top had to be cut open to reach the sausages, these are then in strings of two so it's nice to easy to just take out what you want and then pop the rest either in the fridge or in the freezer in a freezer bag. Wall's sausages can be cooked on the BBQ, in the oven, under the grill or on the hob. The sausages I ate were cooking under the grill and I'd recommend cooking them on a grill rack (as my other half did) as it helps all the fat to drain out of the sausages whilst cooking and be kept in the bottom of the rack ready for easy disposal. So on my perusal, the first thing to hit me was a pack of 6 Quorn sausages. As they were on offer, I got two packs and headed home. Priced at £1.25 some may say this is steep compared to what you would pay for 3 times as many value sausages, but the benefits make you see why afterwards. Quorn is a microprotein.
