Microtek ScanMaker 3600
Advantages: Affordable, solid, good quality and you can rest cups of tea on top!
Disadvantages: Sometimes slow to scan and other scanners do have better quality
...We have had out Microtek Scanmaker 3600 for well over 5 years now and it is still going strong and doing the job for our entire family. I'm not sure how much we paid for it, but it was not a lot because we just wanted a basic scanner that could scan in documents. It is very reliable, easy to use, with a suitable range of features but has the tendency to be a bit slow occasionally.
1. Looks, Design and Size
The scanner is fairly good looking, quite elegant and fairly compact. It measures approximately 17" long, 10" across and 4" high so can fit into most desktop areas. It has a solid build to it and rather funky curve on the lid that gives it some added style. Furthermore, the main surface is flat and you can easily rest your cup of tea, lunch or bits of paper on top! The white colour is easy on the eye and fits in to most rooms...

Dell Dimension 2400
Advantages: Monitor, Business, Keyboard, Look.
Disadvantages: Slow, Heavy, Space taker.
...Well the Dell Dimension 2400 I could say is pretty good for business purposes. Dell does let you customize it but its more of a business system. Its not really all that fast, it has two ram slots no agp slot. Which means no video card, which means no high quality good games. How ever I recommend this system for typing, at home jobs, and for searching purposes. Pretty good size monitor but thats about it. Works with windows xp and lower O.S. <Operating Systems> Very good for a started computer and last a long time. Not the best for traveling and taking along with you. Not a bad system though but don't take my word for it try it out see what you think about it. Comes with a cool keyboard and mouse, plus I like the style....

Slim. Sharp. Stylish. The Scanjet 2400.
Advantages: Fast, simple image scanning. Very stylish design. Excellent Price.
Disadvantages: None!
...off to my nearest computer fair, to search for a brand new scanner. I hadn't much to spend on the day, just under 40 quid infact, so owning the creme de la creme of scanners wasn't an option.
I did however, find the HP Scanjet 2400 in one stall, looking most impressive on the box, I found myself checking out the specifications and asking the stall owner the price.
The gruff reply was "37.99 mate", awesome, I thought. Even got enough money left for a happy meal!
So I strolled out of the place lugging...)well not so much lugging it must have only weighed a couple of kilograms) a brand new scanner.
The Scanner
Upon arriving home I went about setting up the scanner. Scanners are all readily assembled, so installation is as simple as plugging in the lead. While not exactly tiny, the size is necessary - most scanners have to be big...

AMD Xp2400+ ! !
Advantages: Relatively Cheap and PowerFUL! FOR applications and Games.
Disadvantages: can burn out really quick if your CPU fan plays up.
...AMD one of Intels biggest rivals have done it once again, toping the Cpu League Table by releasing the AMD 2400xp+ 266mhz FSB superb cpu will leave a mark for intel for several years.
The reason I believe everything above I have stated is true is because if you look at the specifications of the XP2400+ CPU its jaw dropping.
*It runs at a Clock Speed of 2GHz (2000MHZ) which is more than enough to run 99.9% of your games and applications (so for future purposes you wouldn't worry thinking if your computer could run your new software you were intending to buy).
*The Processor type is 'Socket A' AMD Socket A processors have been known to top CPU leagues because of their long lasting lifes and speed.
An advantage of having this socket A processor (the XP2400+) is that top motherboards such as the KT-400 support it. So having...

My HP Scanjet 2400 Experience
Advantages: Inexpensive
Disadvantages: Not too user-friendly
...My HP Scanjet 2400 experience began when I inserted the installation CD, this began to run and immediately stopped with a 'Macromedia Projector' error message. I presume 'Macromedia Projector' is software used to momentarily give a flashy display before the installation starts. Overkill that died!!! I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2 so my guess is that there was a conflict.
So I explored the CD, found the Setup files and ran these to install the software. I think this worked, although I have no idea if I got the full software set.
Next I tried to scan a series of A4 (paper size) documents as A4 documents using the HP Director control software. Could I do this? Not without a good deal of manual intervention because after each scan the scanner insisted on removing the margins and I had to manually drag them back into place...

Athlon XP 2400+ for cheapos.
Advantages: Great value processor
Disadvantages: slower than Pentium 4
...The AMD Athlon XP 2400+ processors are cheap and fast. All my friends recommend this product to me because it can handle games and it is easy on the budget. Sure it's not the fastest processor in the world but for the it has an amazing value for money. This processor is a very capable of doing some decent tasks I doing a lot of content creation and I?m quite satisfied with the Athlon XP 2400+.
Features
This processor is made from Thoroughbred B core. This core is produced on the new standard 0.13 Micron processes which allows more transistors to be placed on the chip. The processor has 1.65V core voltage standard and can be increase when overclocking. It has clock speed of 2.0 GHZ, has a 266 mhz front side bus and a 256 kb L2 cache. Inexpensive Veteran Scanner, a Household's Friend
Advantages: Durable, Programmable, Easy to Set
Disadvantages: Too Slow for Offices, Quality Pictures Require Changing Settings
...The Microtec ScanMaker 4850 flatbed scanner might seem obsolete due to its quality, being half of what more modern scanners can offer, and the fact it is not a part of a multi-functional copier, but you should not be assumptuous about this device.
Instead of reviewing the mechanics and energy consumption of the scanner, this summary will provide you practical information about the technology in question.
The scanner came with an USB wire and power cord, instruction manual (it was unnecessary, as all you have to do is plug it in and install the software), installation CDs (multi-lingual, one for Max, one for Windows) with plenty of software including Microtek's scanner applications and an OCR application, which is gold, as it turns your scanned material available for editing in Word.
Value for Money

Fuji finepix 2400z you have to get one
Advantages: macro & optical zoom
Disadvantages: standard batteries supplied drain very quickly.
...The finepix 2400Z is just an excellent camera. I purchased it online for less than £265, which is a £35 saving over buying it from the shops. Prior to buying I went to a specialist photographic shop and asked for advise. They told me fuji are the best, as their build quality and photographic quality are superb. He even rated it above the Kodak 3400 digital camera, which was £75 more expensive. I did not buy from him as his prices were higher than on the internet, although I must admit a pang of guilt at using him for advise only. I Have had the camera 2 weeks now and have been taking photo's of our new arrival. The quality is excellent and I have printed and sent photo's off to relative who were very impressed. The camera is a 2.1 megapixel camera, and a top resolution of 1600 x 1200, a mid resolution of 1280 x 960, and a lower...

Hold on for the next dimension!!!!!!
Advantages: no middle man
Disadvantages: can become expensive
...I first bought my Dell Dimension 2400 series last year. Me and my friend Emma had been messing around on the Internet and came across dells website. We had a look at the computers and I basically chose the cheapest one there. I never expected to get finance for it as I have a really bad credit rating so really we were just messing. It was really easy to browse on the website you chose the computer you want then on each next page there was a list of components that you could choose to go with the computer. I did all this and at the end I put in all my details. Within a few minutes it came back to say that I had been accepted for the finance. I was to say the least very shocked at this, but I was excited that I was getting a new computer.
I had been using my mum's old laptop for a while but it was an old one and only came with Windows...

Awesome BenQ 1920x1080 Full HD Monitor!
Advantages: 2ms, HDMI, Full HD 1080p
Disadvantages: The exterior of the monitor is a bit glossy.
...I bought the E2400HD 8 months ago and have loved it since the day I received it. I ordered it online and it came in three days later. It came in a standard brown BenQ box with the monitor, the stand, D-Sub, power cable, and an installation CD/manual. I bought it through a friend?s advice as he had bought the E2400HD when it first hit the shelves, and he has been telling me about how awesome it is ever since! It is hard not to agree with him, because the monitor just performs at a superb level and quality for the price range that it is competing in!
The E2400HD would be what I?d like to call a multi-media/functional desktop/laptop peripheral display. It comes with HDMI and DVI support, and is loaded with 1080p (16:9 display or also known as 1920x1080), which gives the monitor a very beautiful bright and crisp display. Blu ray works...
