The toughest tom cat
Review of Scarface Claw - Lunley Dodd by giantpanda21

Advantages: Great read
Disadvantages: none

...I came across these books through my mum who had read and heard of these books before and as i have a young son have read the books myself. Scarface Claw is a black tom cat and is apparently the toughest cat in town and scares alot of the other animals too. The book is about Scarface Claw and he is not meant to be scared of anything like thunder storms or the dark not even dogs when they lollop and leap until the last page which i am not going to give away. The author of Scarface Claw is Lynley Dodd and the books she has written are great which include Slinky Malinki and Hairy Maclary the cost of the books are £4.99. My son actually likes these books and loves his nanna to read them to him. Lynley Dodd is an exceptional writer and i would recommend people buy her books.... Read review

The Best gangster film ever
Review of Scarface DVD by mcicp19

Advantages: Al Pacino acting his socks off!
Disadvantages: none

...In the 1980's America opened its doors and took in thousands of cuban immigrants that Fidel Castro had allowed out of jail on the condition they left Cuba, they were known as the Cuban Crime Wave. Scarface tells the fictional gangster story of one of these immigrants, Tony Montana, played by the great Al Pacino. The storyline itself is a remake of a 1920's film by the same name about bootlegging alchol as opposed to selling coke. The film chronicles the chase of the 'American dream' by Tony, his best friend Manny, and a few others of no real consequence (although I do like Ernie!). With support from Michelle Pfeiffer in one of the roles of her career Pacino grabs hold of the role as Montana with both hands, showing a intensity and passion rarely seen in other movies or actors which itself creates many many classic moment. Scarface... Read review

Similarities To Scarface Aside
Review of New Jack City DVD by chilledbudwei2er

Advantages: watchable
Disadvantages: Similarities To "Scarface" Aside, A Solid Gangster Flick

...It's funny because only 3 weeks ago I saw "Scarface" for the 1st time and then last week I saw "Traffic" for the 3rd time. And now I see "New Jack City". Out of the three "New Jack City" is the worst, but that by no means implies that it is a bad movie. But just for a fact there aren't too many drug related movies even in the same league as "Scarface" or "Traffic". In this review I will not use "Traffic" for any comparison because the two films are completely different. But "Scarface" on the otherhand is almost an exact replica of "New Jack City", except it came out 8 years earlier. Both movies are about how a guy starts out on the bottom, works his way to the top and goes overboard falls back down in the drugworld. It's nearly the same movie except you have Wesley Snipes as Nino Brown, instead of Al Pacino as Tony Montana. The plot... Read review

Say hello to my leetle friend
Review of Scarface DVD by wallysutcliffe

Advantages: 1980s
Disadvantages: 1980s

...This is a classic yet enigmatic movie. Much debate may be had as to whether it is actually any good. At times it is sickeningly sentimental and ludicrously over the top. It features absurd sequences that remind us of the worst excesses of late 70s / 80s film and tv. The traditional rock montage of such 'classics' as Pretty Woman, and all the Rocky flicks is the centrepiece of Scarface. The film itself satirises the American Dream. Cuban immigrant Tony Montana (Al Pacino) arrives in Miami and sets about building a drug empire that eventually implodes as Montana gradually realizes the vacuosity of his own existence and attempts a moral action with disastrous consequences. This is all pretty simple stuff and, as gangster flicks go, this one has none of the characterization or psychological interest of the old James Cagney films, notably... Read review

Scarface, The World Is Yours!
Review of Scarface - The World is Yours (PS2) by Renegade_821

Advantages: Easy To control
Disadvantages: Unbeatable positions without cheats

...Scarface, The World Is Yours, one of the greatest gangster films ever made transformed into a game where you play Tony Montana after the Collapse of his drug dynasty and you take the Miami streets by storm with guns and try to take over the world which was once yours. From My prospective of the game it is one of the best i played giving Grand Theft Auto San Andreas a run for their money. Esay to control and great for those who dont want to see Tony Montana wear the same clothes giving you a range of unlockable clothing to wear during missions. Easy to play with a lot of challenging moments where you find yourself faced with twenty guys holding Mac-10's, M15 and even rocket launchers all with the same aim to kill you. But fr the cheaters who like to use cheats this game is great for using cheats in tight spots. But overall... Read review

Say 'ello to Tony Montana...
Review of Scarface DVD by manc_azza

Advantages: Great movice for fans of the 'Gangster' genre...
Disadvantages: Should have hd De Niro in as well to make it an ultimate classic...

...The Film: One of the greatest gangster films ever made? Well that's what many people consider. I would have to say that this isn't really correct, but does definitely stand out from other gangster films. The film is based upon the 1932 version of Scarface, in which uses very similar plot outlines throughout the film such as the dramatic ending of the bad guy dying in the end, the protectiveness of the bad guys sister and also the bad guy going for the boss' partner. Unlike the original, the main character Tony Montana (Al Pacino) is a Cuban refugee and the film is set in Miami, whereas the original is set in Chicago and the character Tony Comente (Paul Muni) is based upon Al Capone. In reference to the original, when it was released 1932, this was when Al Capone ruled the Chicago gangland. The film is basically about Montana... Read review

Dempseys Challenge:Mission Impossible
Review of Everything that starts with D ... by truperdooper

Advantages: Might find it funny
Disadvantages: not as good as its creator

...the mission, and your reasons why you chose each member. You can have as many members as you wish, but give your reasons for choosing each one. Then create your own story on how you accomplished the mission using each member and yourself within the story! ******The Scenario……(this is the bit you copy unless you want to do your own scenario) The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles has been kidnapped by a well known notorious gangster called 'Scarface'. He is demanding £500.0000 from The Prince Of Wales. If the ransom is not met by 7pm this evening or anyone is noticed attempting to gain entry, he will kill her, and uncover an incriminating document which may hurt the Royal Family's reputation. Whats with this dishwasher chico?
Review of Scarface - The World is Yours (PS2) by wenkinnoc

Advantages: Faithful to the movie, great music
Disadvantages: Fans of film might not like it.

...Scarface is a controversial game, not for the appalling foul language, mindless and indeed bloody violence, or its glorification and justification of greed, murder and deceit, but becuase to some, it tramples upon the sacred image of a cult classic. Scarface for the PS2 begins where the film ended, with one crucial difference, Tony is still alive. What follows is a action-packed and nerve-wracking experience as you must blast your way to safety whilst battling through the various assailants upon your Mansion. This introductory level serves to gently introduce the main stay of the game, combat with shooting, and it is as easy to learn as it is responsive. Shooting is achieved by holding down L1, and using the R3 to aim the crosshair, allowing for precision aiming, and then pressing or holding R1 to shoot. Aiming at specific body... Read review

All Those Tony Montana Wannabies
Review of Scarface - The World is Yours (Xbox) by sifair

Advantages: Tony Montana Lifestyle, Great Speech, Super Violent
Disadvantages: Same Tasks Done Over and Over

...Scarface: The World Is Yours First thing to say is that this game is not a GTA copy, Scarface is it's own game. It makes you feel like Tony Montano. If your a gamer and also loved the Scarface film this is a dream come true for you. When you get into the game you will notice it has a large free roaming urban environment which you will have to perform various illegal tasks in. In the game your the boss, Tony Montano. Your main goal is to get rid of Sosa, Tony's main enemy and take over the underworld of Miami City. In the original film Tony was played by Al Pacino and he goes from small time criminal to Miami's biggest crime lord with a big mansion and some great cars, basically living the high life. A rival crime lord, Sosa, sends his men to kill Tony in his mansion. In the film Tony is spectacularly killed but in the game... Read review

The world is is Tonys oyster
Review of Scarface DVD by harj123

Advantages: blistering Al pacino performance, cracking dialogue, excellent action scenes
Disadvantages: extremeley violent

...Scarface[1983]directed by Brian de palma, scripted by Oliver stone, and starring Al pacino in the title role of cuban gangster Tony Montana is one of the key films of the 1980s.Its style, feel ,fashion sense and music is very much of the time.On release it was ripped apart by critics due to its length[3hrs]..extreme violence, profane language and Pacinos over the top performance. It did reasonably well at the cinema but really found an audience on video where its cult reputation grew.It is now one of the films where the dialogue is quoted by rap artists and other actors in diffferent films.Whilst Francis ford coppolas showed a romanticsed version of the mafia and gangsters, all about family, honour and power,Scarface rips that apart .Here the gangsters dont really care about that, its all about money, greed and violence. They get a rush out...
