...I have decided to review 'The School of Rock' film having recently watched it. The School of Rock is an American film released in the United Kingdom on February 6th 2004. The film comes under the comedy and musical genres. This film was directed by Richard Linklater and stars Jack Black. This movie is a PG. Running time of this movie is one hundred and eight minutes (twelve minutes short of two hours), Wannabe rock star , Dewey , is 'sacked' from his band and because he has many bills to pay and is down in the dumps , he feels he needs to get out there and find a job. Schools Out

Advantages: different game modes
Disadvantages: can bore of it quite quickly

...I'm a big fan of the tycoon series of games - mall tycoon, zoo tycoon, casino tycoon etc so I thought that school tycoon would be another game to add to that list. I bought it for £5 at PC world and, at that price, you pretty much can't go wrong! There are a couple of different modes to this game. There is the story mode, where you have to build a school from scratch on a limited budget and operate at a profit but also meet the standards of education that you need to achieve eg sports/discipline/attendance etc. You can do this by employing the right (strict) teachers. This is where the challenge lies as obviously there is a trade-off between employing the best teachers and paying lower wages. You also get to design the layout of your school and choose what to build and where. There are facilities such as cafeterias, staff rooms...

...It is my 200th review on here and I wanted to do something a little bit different. As I haven't written a Ciao Café review for some time I thought that it would be a nice change. This topic caught my eye seeing as I am now almost qualified as a teacher and wanted to reflect back on my own school experience! So, the following are a selection of my ten best school memories. SCHOOL ........... DAZE .

Advantages: ten school memories .
Disadvantages: there are only seven !

...Lord , I'm not sure if I have 10 . Well , not " best " in the usual sense of the word where everyone is doing something good , studious and productive , and at the end of it they are presented with a nice certificate and some house points If that's what your expecting of MY school days , then maybe you'd better stop reading now ? So these are the best from my point of view . The ones I remember most vividly , the ones I enjoyed the most regardless of anyone else's enjoyment or lack of it , and the ones that just stand out from every other routine day for whatever reason .. They wont necessarily be in chronological order , I'll just write them down as they occur to me . I leave it to you to keep up ?. Review of 10 Best School Memories

Fantastic Summer School!

Advantages: Fun, made lots of new friends, fantastic experience, learned a lot
Disadvantages: Took ages to get there by train!

Review of Sutton Trust Summer Schools

High School Rock Out!

Advantages: Great fun film!
Disadvantages: Great for Adults as well as kids!

...The School of Rock, 2003, Rating PG, I have to admit I didn't think I would like this film but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was and absolutely loved it! The children in this film are so multi talented it makes me sick! Full of the talent of the future this film will be the starting point for many of their future careers I am sure, all of this combined with the talent of actor Jack Black makes this film a must see. School Memories- The Best

Advantages: Funny things that happend to me.
Disadvantages: nout.

...Well for me school wasn't that long ago, three months ago to be exact. I have just finished high school and am now at college. I don't have the best memory but the ones I do remember are lovely. My mum calls me the quiet devil, I'm evil but never get caught (smile). I don't think I did more than a few pieces of homework in 4/5 years and never once had detention. So here's my top ten memories. 1) Year 7- Age 11. I didn't like to see my mates in trouble, especially when I knew it wasn't them that had done the crime. One day my mate was getting told off by the head master and I decided to go in and say it was me. The teacher starting to tell me off, and within 5 minutes he was making me a cup of tea and biscuits, I don't know how I do it, but I never get into trouble. Going to School - another term starts!

Advantages: A lovely book offering an insight into a child's first day at school.
Disadvantages: None

The story starts by introducing the Peaches family - mum, dad and the twins Percy and Polly along with their pets Sidney the gerbil, Dusty the cat and Ping and Pong the two kittens. The Peaches' live in a flat above the Marsh family who have a daughter called Milly. The story goes through the routines of getting up, having breakfast and getting ready for school. NOthing like this ever happens on my school run!

Disadvantages: takes a while to get in to

...The School Run was Sophie King's debut novel, and although she has gone on to write quite a few more, this was the first of her books that I had read. I was quite intrigued by the title, as I am also, by necessity, a school run mum, so I felt confident that I would relate to the subject matter. However, I can't say that I felt this when I started reading and in fact it took me a while to get into the book. It was definitely worth persevering with though as by about a third of the way in I could not put it down and, in fact, I read the last two hundred pages within twenty four hours which is almost unheard of for me! The School Run is really seven stories in one as it follows seven people over the course of only one week. Stick It To The Man!! - School of Rock

Advantages: Jack Black, humour, soundtrack
Disadvantages: Bit unrealistic, although not really a disadvantage.

...Could Dewey Finn really become the next legend of the rock guitar? His got the stage presence (although crowding surfing to an empty space can seem a reoccurring problem). His got his face melting guitar solos (although a ten minute solo may be too much for some to handle). His even got the classically trained private school kids! What?!
