GLORIOUS MOZART
Review of Mozart: Così fan tutte by
operalover2000
Advantages: One of the finest casts ever
Disadvantages: Mono Sound, that's all
...MOZART - COSI FAN TUTTE - KARJAN EMI
PLEASE COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW SO I CAN IMPROVE MY REVIEWS IN THE FUTURE!!!
When critics line up the best available recordings of Mozart's superb comic opera "Così fan tutte" two recordings are almost invariably up there, Karl Böhm's second recording from 1962 (EMI - Stereo) and Herbert von Karajan's recording from 1954 (EMI - Mono). The remarkable Elisabeth Schwarzkopf is present in both recording as the charming Fiordiligi. I prefer her fresher voice in 1954 but she, like the other artists in the Böhm recording, benefit from the fresh stereo sound. One of the glories of the gramophone is Schwarzkopf, Merriman and Bruscantini in "Soave sia il vento" - simply breathtaking as regards phrasing, beauty of tone and the organic feeling to the ensemble. Giuseppe Taddei (Böhm) and Rolando Panerai (Karajan...

The Art of Conducting - maestro myth revealed?
Review of Art Of Conducting - Great Conductors Of The Past DVD by
Maestrolover
Advantages: Superb production, fascinating footage, great music
Disadvantages: None whatsoever apart from wanting more
...Toscanini straight to camera still sent an instant chill down my spine!
There are too many other moments like that to mention them all in this review and combined with the wide range of repertoire from Schostakovich to Mozart; and excellently edited, astute, frequently entertaining and always enlightening comments, this is a truely first class production which will send you off to explore further the work of these many great conductors.
An additional bonus to the actual documentary itself, which must NOT be ignored, is a 45 minutes extra segment, (accessed through the main menu) consisting of exclusive interviews with the famed soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.; renowned orchestral leader/concertmaster - violinist Hugh Bean; record producer Suvi Raj Grubb and last but not least the acclaimed solo violinist Isaac Stern. Lots of unmissable...

rich and creamy
Review of Elisabeth Arden True Love Body Lotion by
jo1l
Advantages: rich and creamy great smell
Disadvantages: shame about the name pricey
...True Love body lotion by Elizabeth Arden is pure self indulgence, it smell absolutely wonderful and makes your skin feel soft silky and totaly pampered. I recieved this body lotion as part of an Elizabeth Arden gift set but you can buy it over the counter seperately. It is a very rich body lotion which is easily absorbed into the skin. The lotions perfume is a very delicate perfume which lingers for several hours after use. It is well worth trying. My only bug bares about it are the name- abit to Mill n Boons for me! and the price but try looking on web sites that sell Elizabeth Arden products as they are alot cheaper. Definetly one to buy again....

Definately is a Splendid perfume.
Review of Elisabeth Arden Splendor by
zeebra
Advantages: Good for any occassion.
Disadvantages: Nothing I can think.
...I had never tried Elizabeth Arden perfumes before, but I had a sample sent to me from Elizabeth Arden and was quite amazed how nice this perfume was. Its quite a fresh floral perfume, which is not too heavy but at the same time gives just the right amount of scent, and is good for any age group. In the past I have always thought that Elizabeth Arden products were for the older generation, but this perfume just goes to show that anyone of any age can wear it. The bottle is nicely designed and the perfume itself is good for day and evening wear, so is a good alround perfume for any occassion, this one definately gets my seal of approval when it comes to perfume and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it....

Squeaky cleaness
Review of Schwarzkopf Supersoft Shampoo by
gemmawild
Advantages: Fresh clean hair
Disadvantages: Erm...
...Schwarzkopf Super Soft shampoo.
I was in my local SuperDrug one Saturday afternoon and spotted this shampoo on offer for 89p but Schwarzkopf made it. I thought, surely they have this wrong, to my knowledge, Schwarzkopf are a very professional name in the hair industry, yet here’s one of their products selling for 89p?
So I snapped up a Volumising Shampoo & Volumising Conditioner. The bottle didn’t draw me to the product there’s nothing fancy about it, but they have colour coded the label & shampoo the same so you know which one to get the next time.
When I used both the shampoo & conditioner on my hair for the first time, it felt lovely. It was soft, manageable and I find the smell dreamy. It is still one of most favourite shampoos at the back of my shelf! I think it’s good for cleaning my hair, but not giving it life or making...

Was this actually tested on black hair first??
Review of Schwarzkopf Live Wild Lights by
Chokurei3
Advantages: Give previous red highlights a slight boost
Disadvantages: Does not colour dark hair whatsoever.
...I bought the schwarzkopf wild lights colour (wild red) to boost my original red highlights that had faded to orangey-brown. The rest of my hair is natural black.
I have used the Live XXL products in the past and now regularly use the poly colour tint, also by schwarzkopf, with fantastic results every time. I used the wild lights colour for the first time today and have to say, I am extremely disappointed as it has not turned out as described on the box, which states it works well, even on dark hair. In the past six months, I had my hair done professionally with red highlights on my black hair and it was these faded highlights I was hoping to rejuvenate with the wild lights colour. I bought it, took it home, and used it straight away.
I followed the instructions carefully, and applied with the assistance with a friend as my hair...

The day i dyed my wifes hair
Review of Schwarzkopf Vital Colours Permanent Crème Colourant by
JHPRUSHTON
Advantages: Easy to use. Good range of colours.Good range of shades possible, using each colour.
Disadvantages: None really!
...It may seem strange that a man should be extolling the virtues of a womans hair colouring.... but don't be dismayed...you may just learn somthing to your advantage.
One day, on arriving home, my Wife asked me if I would go to the strange measure of dyeing her hair for her. Like any normal guy, worrying that I would make a mess of it I (at first) declined. But after a little reflection and realising that she needed my help...I thought that I would give it a go....After all. What did I have to loose?...It was'nt my hair, now was it?
Any way, after being given firm instructions, I picked up the box of SCHWARZKOPF 'Vital Colors' and set about the task in hand.
My Wife 'brave woman as she is', had great faith in me. But I now realise she had very little to concern her because SCHWARZKOPF 'Vital Colors' made the job so easy for me...
