...I have been using a previous Oregon Scientific projection clock for the past couple of years, and I have been very pleased with it. I decided to get this model because one of the main points is that the projection is strong enough to be seen in daylight. Even on a really bright day, it is still possible to see the time on the ceiling or wall, unlike previous models. As with previous models, it has the radio controlled time feature, meaning that it is always up to date, and requires no manual changes. Although it is possible to turn the radio signal receiver off, and do it manually. This may have to be done if you are using it in an area of weak or no signal. ...My Experience? I've had the Oregon Scientific digital camera for around 2 years now, and overall I have been disappointed. However I have a little relief in the fact that I paid very little for it through a TV bidding channel, Bid-up TV, I recall that it was about £100 along with an array of free image editing and gallery software. Ever since I received the camera it has gone down hill consistently. I know others have had good experiences with this camera, so it would appear to be on an individual basis, but do take heed. Also as other owners have reported the camera will often freeze on random occasions. To resolve, remove the batteries and replace them, this usually makes the camera work again. Advantages: Easy to use, reliable, batteries last AGES!

...I first got this calculator when I was 13 or 14 years old. Our maths teacher told us we needed a scientific calculator and although I already had one, it was different to the one the teacher had. ...think?** I think these are an excellent idea, and one of those construction sets which thankfully has a very long shelf life. They really can be used by adults, and once opened, everyone tends to sit and try to make something. They come well packaged with different areas in the box to keep the different pieces, so there is no need to buy another storage container to keep them in- just keep the original sturdy packaging. The activity is educational and stimulating, and depending on age and interest, can take children and adults as far as they wish to go with scientific concepts. If simple construction is required, this can also be achieved, and young children like to show you what they have made. It encourages questioning, because when they are first used, there is always the question "how/why did that happen?" The only down side...

...The Casio fx-992s is a scientific calculator, just so you know what I am talking about. From Casio's current range of scientific calculators, I think this is the best of them all. The next step up is the graphical calculators. The calculator itself cost me about £15 when I bought it about 3 years ago. It is still in good condition and works great. Quite good value for money. Before getting onto the functions of the calculator one thing you do notice about this calculator is its size. It is not a pocket calculator, since it must accomodate all the electronics for a scientific calculator. It's depth with the lid on the back is just 13mm or just 9mm without, which beats pretty much any other calculator around and it fits quite nicely in my pencil case. The Other dimensions are about the same as other calculators as it must fit atleast...

Advantages: Very Handy in size,self-charge ,compact, very discreet, and quite cool looking. simplicity at its finest.

I didn't personally feel that it got too much. However, some background knowledge with regard to language development and acquisition may be beneficial or at least a general interest in the topic. The book is 240 pages long and was published by HarperPerennial in 1994. It is available from most big book stores for £6.99 or on Amazon from £4.99. ISBN: 0060924659.
