Winning the card wars
Advantages: Use 2 types of cards in one camera
Disadvantages: Pricey
...If like me, you've got a variety of cameras, using different memory cards, you sometimes wish there was only one format. Why? Because then you can just buy a load of cards all of the same sort, and they'd work in all the cameras. The Minolta SD-CF1 is an adapter for those with a whole load of SD (Secure Digital) type cards, who also have a CF (Compact Flash) compatible camera too. Why should I need to buy a 512Mb CF for my Minolta, when I have a perfectly good 512Mb SD card for my brand new Megxon? Well with this device, I won't of course.
Although it's made by Minolta, and Minolta themselves only advertise it as compatible with certain cameras in their own range, it will in fact work with a variety of other CF cameras, including Canon and Nikon.
It's very simple. You take your adapter, slot the SD card into it, then slot the whole...

Carry Case Classic SD Card!
Advantages: Carry Case, adapters, storage space, speed,
Disadvantages: Small and fiddly
...Most people have devices such as digital cameras or mobile phones today that require additional memory. This normally comes in the shape of a memory card. While there are a few options around, one of the most popular over recent years has been the SD card style.
However, with all modern technology, they strive to make things smaller and smaller. Enter the Micro SD card!
My Micro SD card was required by my XDA Orbit phone. Looking at the size of the opening in my phone, one thing struck me about the card required. It was going to be small and fiddly. That is exactly what it is. Small and fiddly to handle. You need to be very careful not to lose it as it weighs very little and its also very thin and fragile. However, the option that comes from Kingston helps you out with a handy carry case for when it is not being used.
The clear...

Small Medium and Large SD Cards!
Advantages: Lots of flexibility with devices
Disadvantages: Micro Size can be a bit fiddly
...You probably own a device of some sort that requires a flash memory card of some sort and more than likely its an SD (Secure Digital) style card. For a few years now SD memory cards have been one of the most popular methods of storage for digital cameras and some mobile phones. However, as all technology shrinks down, unfortunately so do the memory cards. Therefore a lot of of new phones require a "Micro" or "Mini" SD card.
Sounds ok but does that mean your existing card reader (That takes standard SD types of card) is now obsolete?
No, not at all!
The clever bods over at Kingston decided that they could make their new Micro SD cards backwards compatible for standard and Mini SD sizes by selling them with a pair of handy adapters.
Yes, when you buy the Kingston Micro SD, the card itself will fit into all of your Micro SD powered...

Fast Access SD Card
Advantages: 4GB, ESP Technology, RescuePRO
Disadvantages: None
...The Sandisk Extreme III 4 GB Compact Flash Card is ideal for digital camera's and camcorders. I needed some extra memory for my digital camera so bought this.
Sandisk have a good reputation in developing flash memory cards so I thought I would go for this. With my digital camera I had a supplied 1GB card which to be honest isn't much when taking high resolution photos, it fill up pretty quick.
The Sandisk SD card is a good size at 4GB storage. It also has ESP technology which basically allows data on the card to be accessed quicker. This is great for fast loading especially when taking photos with a digital camera, as the last thing you want is to wait 1 min to just see the photos you just shot. This simply makes everything that little bit quicker. It can actually access your data at an incredible speed of 20MB per second...

Brilliant Bread Every Time - Panasonic SD 254
Advantages: The best bread you will ever taste, on a timer just ready in time for breakfast.
Disadvantages: If you can't wait since it smells so good... you might burn your fingers like me!
...This Panasonic SD 254 bread maker was a spur-of-the-moment impulse buy from Macro when it was on special offer about a year ago, for £50. My mother needs to eat a gluten-free diet which means she cannot eat regular bread but with this machine she has been able to create loaves both from a gluten-free bread book and also just herself from the skill she has honed with this machine. I have tried both the shop bought and homemade wheat-free bread and there is no comparison, hands down the Panasonic SD 254 wins.
When purchased the box was extremely heavy as this machine contains a lot of mixing equipment which has been cast in metal to make it will last under the pressure of mixing thick dough. Protected by polystyrene box inserts the machine came along with a small measuring cup, spoon and the usual user's guide as well as a warranty card...

SD Transflash Adapter/Memory Card
Advantages: Can be used in most electronic equipment
Disadvantages: Very small so can be lost easily
... Overview
I first bought this SD card for storage on my mobile phone. I hadn't ever used a transflash adapter before and I did have to do a bit of research to find out what the two parts were for. Basically, the smaller part (see picture) can be put into phones and other small electrical products and can store up to 128MB worth of data (or more if you buy a card with a greater capacity). The beauty of the transflash adapter however, is the fact that the little memory card can be put into the larger adapter and then used on larger electrical equipment such as a computer or a PS3.
Advantages
This gives many advantages. The small memory card can be permanently placed inside the adapter and used for storage as you would with a USB memory stick. You could also transfer photos/music/videos from your computer/PS3 to...

Sandisk 8GB micro SD card
Advantages: Large memory capacity, durable for its size, very reliable
Disadvantages: None really apart from it being quite small
..., which will allow you to insert your memory card into a PC or any other compatible external device in order to transfer files from the PC onto the card or from the card onto the PC.
Nowadays there are many more devices like DVD recorders and TV's which come with memory card slots and will most definitely allow you to insert your SD micro memory card into the provided slots in order to view photos, listen to music or even watch videos stored on your Sandisk Micro SD 8GB memory card. Apart from being able to hold photos, music and video files micro SD cards like the Sandisk Micro SD 8GB can also hold other files e.g. Microsoft Word, excel or even software setup files.
Virtually all mobile phone manufacturers (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola etc.) have at least one phone which is compatible with the micro SD format of memory cards...

Nectar Card
Advantages: Lots of retailers to collect with
Disadvantages: Online points may not equal amount of cashback available elsewhere
...The nectar card is the loyalty card associated with Sainsbury's, however it has since branched out and is affiliated with many companies which allows for maximum point collecting!
Let's start with the basics, you get 2 points per pound spent at Sainsburys or 1 point per litre of petrol bought at the Sainsbury's petrol garage. Each point accumulated is worth half a penny, so you need 2 points to equal 1 pence. If you redeem your points in store at Sainbury's then you will need minimum 500 points for £2.50 off o your shopping. Points need to be redeemed in increments of 500.
Points can also be collected in other stores, for example Dolland and Aitchinson also give 2 points per pound, as do Homebase. As far as I am aware however, you cannot redeem your points against your total bills in these stores.
Points can also be collected...

USB Card Reader With Free 1GB SD Card
Advantages: 9 in 1 card reader, 1GB SD card, Compact design
Disadvantages: None
...The Kingston MobileLite 9-in-1 Card Reader is the only device you need to store, transfer and read data on any USB enabled device. As I use a variety of flash cards for mobile phone, digital camera and camcorder.
This card reader is designed with a USB 2.0 connector which is ideal to connect via you PC or laptop. It has memory expansion slots that support nine different types of SD and MMC flash memory cards. It also comes with a 1 GB SD memory card for free, what more would you want.
This device is called mobile for a reason, as its small and compact it's ideal to take with you anywhere. You won't find a smaller more compact card reader on the market which carries a respectable name as Kingston. I have another card reader which I use for my PC, I bought this because it was cheap and had free 1GB SD memory card with it. I use this...

Kingston Jamaica? Hull? Thames? Nah SD cards! ..
Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: Ease of losing
.... .
These are 2 gb SD memory cards made by Kingston, SD being short for Secure Digital, and I can't believe there has not been a review already done. I have just tried to get onto their website, but to no avail, will try later.
These cards are a solid state storage system for information, it is as simple as that
The price is competitive, expect to pay up to £16, and you can get them for less from various companies on the internet., Remember this is excluding P&P of course. You can buy them on the high street, but at a higher price. These are often described as the "Postage stamp" size cards. The size is one inch by three quarters, or 19 x 24mm.
You also have the option of going for non-branded merchandise, although I would not advise anything but the original stuff in my own camera. You are then safe in the knowledge that you...
