...Rick Stein - The Seafood Restaurant On a recent trip to Padstow, Cornwall we decided to go to Rick Steins famous fish restaurant, The Seafood Restaurant. Rick Stein is an English chef, restauranter and television presenter. He now specialises in fish cookery. He opened his first restaurant in Padstow in 1974 and now runs quite a few businesses in the town including a cake shop, cookery school and a fish and chip shop. The Seafood Restaurant is his upper class restaurant in the town and is known for it's fabulous fish. It really is in the best location for fish. Padstow is a historic fishing port and so receives fresh fish every day. The restaurant is right at one end of town by the harbour and so is perfectly place to recieve all the best catches of the day. It's quite hard to get a reservation in the restaurant. Decent seafood casserole for the lazy

Advantages: Tasty, easy to prepare and of good quality

...INTRODUCTION I have been working from home recently, and whilst channel surfing the TV during (ahem) one of my very occasional coffee breaks (of 2 hours duration), I chanced upon that old lush Keith Floyd in Marsailles cooking up a traditional French bouillabaisse. I quite fancied some of that but felt quite lazy to cook, and so I toddled to my local M&S and picked up a seafood casserole from their "Cook! Fish" range. I'm not sure if that name is appropriate really; I think more apt titles for some of the dishes in that range would be "Heat Up In Oven!", "Throw Together Ingredients In Frying Pan Without Burning!" or "Microwave And Stir You Lazy Sod!" but I suppose the subtle psychology employed to convince the consumer they're actually participating in the preparation would be somewhat lost. English seafood at its best

Advantages: Great fish recipes and good atmosphere
Disadvantages: Not much for non-fish eaters, not very accessible for disabled people

...Although considered a traditional restaurant, I found it modern in its approach to fish recipes. The main restaurant is "old style" with white table cloths and excellent service. There is very little room between the tables downstairs but haven't visited the room upstairs. it is easy to eat a reasonably priced meal at lunchtimes with superb cooking and great fish. The main menu has a wide range for fish eaters but very little choice for meat eaters or vegetarians. However, last time I went with friends, we shared a delicious dish of mixed seafood with a range of sauces that was memorable, even now. Some dishes are expensive and it definitely isn't a cheap option but you really feel well looked after and the quality of the food is difficult to beat. ...Recently I have been having another mix about with food to see if I can create any new dishes, living by the coast it is very easy to get a lot of fresh seafood products and they don't really cost that much. Obviously you do pay for really good quality food. I normally get mine from Leigh on Sea which is famous for it's fishing and the best seafood around any area I have ever been to in my travels. The seats are wooden and the menus housed in laminated plastic. On each table was salt & pepper pots and a small pot of vinegar. ...During my 7 night stay in Cape Town I experienced some amazing foods, however my boyfriend and I decided on BAIA for his birthday where we would have the full works. Located in the Victoria Wharf, Victoria and Albert Waterfront this is easily accessible from nearby hotels and there are plenty of taxi services to drive you there should you not fancy the walk. Saying that, the food we ate at the Waterfront was fantastic. When we sat down, the waitress immediately brought over a serving of scallops with a garlic dip for us to sample. It was the first time I had ever eaten scallops so although I liked them; I have to rely on my companions who said they were cooked perfectly.
