The Sealife Centre Not Much Else

Advantages: If you love sealife then you will probably like this
Disadvantages: Once you have seen it you have seen it all.

...The sealife centre Blackpool is one of our favourite places to go with our daughter Lauretta who is now 8 months old. She loves looking at the fish and taps her fingers on the glass trying to catch a fish then stares in amazement when she realises she can't. We used to take Lauretta when she was just a few months old and she didn't really get a lot out of it. Now however her little facial expressions are worth it. It costs a lot of money if you haven't got a pass so you could not go all the time. We are very fortunate that we got a pass by saving up Evening Gazette tokens and then going down to pay £2.00 per adult whilst the offer was on. We have used the pass several times and it lets us in as many times as we want to go for free. This pass lasts a year and then we have to renew it. We love the Sealife Centre, but there isn...

Weymouth Sealife Centre - Tranquil Day Out

Advantages: Relaxing, nicely located, fun, educational
Disadvantages: a bit pricey unless you book online

...I can really recommend a day out at Weymouth Sealife Centre, because I felt that it was a fun, educational, and a tranquil family day out, and thought the place was worthy of a really good review on CIAO. Tranquility is something which is rare to find on many family days out, which is why I also thought Weymouth Sea Life Centre deserved a special mention. If you combine visiting this attraction with a good cheap nights rest at the Premier Inn ((http://www.premierinn.co.uk/). the night before, and then a leisurly breakfast at the Brewers Fayre (Lodmor Inn nextdoor to Premier Inn and two minutes walk from Sea Life Centre), you should hopefully be in the right frame of mind for getting the best from this attraction. All the walking between the Travel Lodge, the Lodmoor Inn, and around the Sea Life centre was on the flat and I...

Best Aquarium Around - Sealife

Advantages: easily accessible, no queuing, plenty to see
Disadvantages: bit pricey

...After a poor experience at the Blue Planet Aquarium early last year, when my new fella suggested to take me to the Birmingham Sealife Centre on our first date I agreed politely because it was nice to see someone actually trying to make an effort and do something a little bit different for a change instead of the old ..let's go for a beer!! The Birmingham National Sealife Centre has been open since 1996 and as we all know there are many of these across the country and also across Europe too, although I had never actually been to one until now. The Sealife Centre itself was first established in 1979 and opened its doors to the first aquarium in Scotland. At that particular time they open had the like of tropical fish, however of the years, the company has seen improvements and new additions to the various sealife centres. To me this...

See life at the SEALIFE centre!

Advantages: 2 for 1 offers on a lot
Disadvantages: parking quite high to pay if only staying a morning or afternoon

...could choose from. Prices were pretty reasonable too. The Sealife centre is not near the shops at Scarborough so you'd either need to take your own food and eat it outside or use the cafe. There was a small hut near the icecream cabin, where you could sit and eat too. The toilets (downstairs near reception) had pictures of otters, seals, etc on them and were extremely clean. I thought the pictures idea was brilliant in the ladies, but don't know what pictures were in the mens. I was also impressed that there seemed to be wheelchair routes around the centre. For wheelchair users to get to the cafe just go out of the sea life area into the shop and ask for assistance to use the stair lift. Werewolf Summary: great day out for all the family...

Birmingham National Sealife Centre

Advantages: Interesting, factual and a great one for the kids!
Disadvantages: None in particular

...Having been to the Sealife Centre a couple of times when I was younger and living at home, I found this to be an extremely interesting attraction. Now I have my own 7 month old daughter, I decided to take her to the centre at Birmingham when we were visiting family for a week. The price was very reasonable, £14.95 per adult and free for our little one as she is under 3. We wondered round for a good 2.5 hours, looking at a number of different fish, all in tanks with bright colours. It is very well designed to keep the attention of young children, even as young as 7 months. There is a feely pool for children who are able to get close to the creatures, including sea anemones and crabs. There is also a seahorse breeding facility at this particular centre, which provides and interesting look at these sea creatures. You can also see giant...

Fishy Fishy Fishy!!

Advantages: A great way to spend a few hours, not just for kids!
Disadvantages: Possibly slightly overpriced

...outside of Weymouth, the SeaLife centre is clearly signposted (as are many other local attractions). For those who do drive in, there is also a car park right outside the entrance. When I was there the sign said 1 hour - £1 2 hours - £2 3 hours - £3 4 hours - £4 5 hours - £5 etc I can't remember exactly how long the maximum time limit was, but I think it was up to about 15hours or so, more than enough for your average day at the beach! Located in the same place as the SeaLife Park were a couple of other family attractions - mini golf (great fun!!), go-karts, a few restaurants - so you could probably spend an entire day there very easily. It is also only just across the road from the beach and the land train which can take you to the main seafront area. ~ - ~ Admission ~ - ~ As a student, I paid £11.50 to get in. This ticket...

An Interesting and Enjoyable Day out!

Advantages: Wide amont of sea creatures
Disadvantages: Once you seen one fish, you seen them all!

...As it?s the summer holidays, I wanted to go somewhere to cure my boredom. So I decided that me and my boyfriend should take a trip to the National Sea Life Centre. The nearest one to us is in Birmingham. I?ve been twice before as a child, once in Blackpool and again in Birmingham. I hadn?t been in quite a few years and can?t remember it and as I had a voucher for a ?buy one adult ticket get one free?, I thought I might as well make use of it. The National Sea Life Centre is pretty self explanatory; it?s a big Centre which specialises in creatures that live in the sea. They range from different types of fish, to sharks! But before I get onto that, I?ll tell you what that building looks like on first impressions. Firstly, I?m not from Birmingham and don?t travel there often so I weren?t sure on how to get to the centre at all, but...

Diamond review  Finding Nemo!!!. . . Well he is there somewhere!

Advantages: Great day out - Kids love it - Finding Nemo
Disadvantages: spending loads in the teddy machines and not winning a sausage - hmph

...Holidaying in Weymouth for a fair few years of my life has always led us to encounter the wonderful World of the Creatures from the Deep Blue Sea. Well okay.................In other words a day trip out to the Weymouth Sealife Centre or better known today as Weymouth - Sealife Park and Marine Sanctuary. Seeing as our last visit was in July last year, I felt it was only right for me to share with you all what a Wonderful family day out we shared (well something long those lines anyways) We had already planned to visit before we took our Holiday, as our last visit was two years prior to this. The kids were now 2 and 3 (well just over) so we thought it would Perfect and seeing as they were both really into Nemo around that time what better excuse did we have not to. -*-*- So What can you tell me about the Sealife Centre-*-*- Well...

Im looking at fish again!

Advantages: Fun if you like fish
Disadvantages: If you dont like fish!

...So you've gone to Blackpool and due to the rain and or strong winds both the top of the tower and the fun (ie high and fast) stuff at the Pleasure Beach are closed. So what else is there to do except glare angrily at the sea as it tries to soak you more than the rain is already doing (which given the wind speeds could actually just be the sea anyway, its coming at you horizontally and tastes suspiciously salty). Well there are the tacky arcades and the numerous bars along the Golden Mile and Promenade but my choice would be the Sealife Centre, although you probably knew that already as thats what im reviewing! OK the entry to the sealife centre looks like a giant statue of either Titan or Posiedon (choose your favourite seagod, I'm not going to force you either way), and well unless the wind is too strong you'll hear the sounds...
