Great camera for underwater use
Advantages: Light, complete with carry strap.
Disadvantages: Button is just a little difficult to press
...I bought this product this summer, because in was in Sydney this summer and decided to go to the Great Barrier Reef too. So I got there and thought I'd better take an underwater camera, so I bought this Kodak one, as it was the only one in the store. The waterproof casing looked rather dubious, but dont be fooled, for this is one sound, good working camera. It comes with a strap, so you needn't carry it underwater. I processed it, and my coral pictures came out beautifully. And at £8 pounds, I think that it is an excellent product, for now my memories have been immortalised....

The Sealife Centre Not Much Else
Advantages: If you love sealife then you will probably like this
Disadvantages: Once you have seen it you have seen it all.
...then they were in the water. The sharks swim up to them as do the other fish. First the divers had to focus on some repairs and we were a bit wary whilst this was going on because it looked like they were looking for cracks in the wood. I had visions of the water coming through and drowning us. Fortunately this did not happen. I found it very hot whilst we were waiting in the tunnel. There were lots of people huddled together and sweat was dripping from me. It was so hot it was almost difficult to breathe. Some parts of the sealife centre are air conditioned, but the shark tunnel definitely isn't. Anyway after they had done repairs or checked for repairs as they had an underwater camera they then went to feed the sharks, but by this time I had, had enough of the heat and wanted to move on. It is also very difficult moving about in...

Best Aquarium Around - Sealife
Advantages: easily accessible, no queuing, plenty to see
Disadvantages: bit pricey
...After a poor experience at the Blue Planet Aquarium early last year, when my new fella suggested to take me to the Birmingham Sealife Centre on our first date I agreed politely because it was nice to see someone actually trying to make an effort and do something a little bit different for a change instead of the old ..let's go for a beer!!
The Birmingham National Sealife Centre has been open since 1996 and as we all know there are many of these across the country and also across Europe too, although I had never actually been to one until now. The Sealife Centre itself was first established in 1979 and opened its doors to the first aquarium in Scotland. At that particular time they open had the like of tropical fish, however of the years, the company has seen improvements and new additions to the various sealife centres.
To me this...

Camera Bubble
Advantages: Watertight, Floats very easily, Safe
Disadvantages: Floats very easily, "The Scare Factor", space for the flash
...You buy a new camera, so what's the best way to try it out? That's right, take it underwater!
We'd been planning a holiday to Egypt for some time, and you really cannot visit Egypt and not go diving or at very least snorkelling, so i decided to buy one of these.
What is it?
The UA is the entry level underwater camera housing from Ewa Marine, costing between £120 and £150 and made from a very tough double-laminated PVC sheet. There are many more available, which will accommodate different sized cameras, lenses and flash gun combinations.
So what do you get for your money?
The UA Underwater kit comes in a bright yellow carry case and the package contains the plastic housing with a sealed glass window for the lens, a lens extender / protector and a pre-cut foam pad to help support the camera. There is also a hand strap...

Weymouth Sealife Centre - Tranquil Day Out
Advantages: Relaxing, nicely located, fun, educational
Disadvantages: a bit pricey unless you book online
...I can really recommend a day out at Weymouth Sealife Centre, because I felt that it was a fun, educational, and a tranquil family day out, and thought the place was worthy of a really good review on CIAO.
Tranquility is something which is rare to find on many family days out, which is why I also thought Weymouth Sea Life Centre deserved a special mention.
If you combine visiting this attraction with a good cheap nights rest at the Premier Inn ((http://www.premierinn.co.uk/). the night before, and then a leisurly breakfast at the Brewers Fayre (Lodmor Inn nextdoor to Premier Inn and two minutes walk from Sea Life Centre), you should hopefully be in the right frame of mind for getting the best from this attraction.
All the walking between the Travel Lodge, the Lodmoor Inn, and around the Sea Life centre was on the flat and I...

Birmingham National Sealife Centre
Advantages: Interesting, factual and a great one for the kids!
Disadvantages: None in particular
...Having been to the Sealife Centre a couple of times when I was younger and living at home, I found this to be an extremely interesting attraction. Now I have my own 7 month old daughter, I decided to take her to the centre at Birmingham when we were visiting family for a week. The price was very reasonable, £14.95 per adult and free for our little one as she is under 3. We wondered round for a good 2.5 hours, looking at a number of different fish, all in tanks with bright colours. It is very well designed to keep the attention of young children, even as young as 7 months. There is a feely pool for children who are able to get close to the creatures, including sea anemones and crabs.
There is also a seahorse breeding facility at this particular centre,
which provides and interesting look at these sea creatures. You can also see giant...

Getting Your Kid Into Digital Cameras
Advantages: Features Like Any Regular Digital Camera
Disadvantages: 16 MB Internal Memory and No Zoom Capabilities
...No digital camera review on CIAO would be complete without a few entries about cameras designed for kids. After all, kids are almost universally enthusiastic about taking pictures. And parents with a love of photography often pass down their passion to their children. But digital cameras are not always kid-friendly, due to fragile construction, price, or complicated menus and buttons. The newest trend in children's electronics is a group of digital cameras made especially for small children. These cameras are easy to hold, come in bright colors that kids love, and have many of the same features as grown-up digital cameras. Kids love them.
The VTech KidiZoom Digital Camera is one of the top digital cameras for kids. This camera was made with fun in mind. Kids like the KidiZoom's large LCD screen and the onboard photo editing options...

vanguard Camera case
Advantages: cheap price, safe and durable, waterproof, and camera protective
Disadvantages: Made in china, available in black only.
...background to Vanguard
until I started to write this review I had no idea who they were. I searched online and read a few reviews about the company. The company specialise in manufacturing Camera bags, Binoculars, Tripods and Cases for guns to name a few products. The companies customers include major Camera manufacturers.
vanguard Camera Case
for a Camera case it is a low priced entry level Camera Case used to hold, store and allow the user to move around with a Camera inside the Pouch. The Camera Case is black coloured throughout. The Case has the Vanguard's logo encased on the closing part of the Pouch. Also the material is polyester and I suppose that it is good that it is not made from leather as the leather in the summer weather reacts to the heat. This Camera Case also adheres to the international quality...

Fun in the water
Advantages: Can be used up to 50foot
Disadvantages: Price, can only be used outdoors and during the day
...My husband does a lot of water sports and so we wanted a camera that he could take out ever so often (we have brand new digital camera and so that stays away from the water!). We came across this one and decided to try it as it was a well known make. My husband did think it looked a bit clumpy (think he was comparing it to our very slim digital camera) but it worked very well and was easy to use.
****Advantages*****
* Safe to be used near / in water (up to 50 feet (15meters)
* Handy strap so you don't have to clutch hold of it.
* Rugged, durable, shock-proof rubber shell.
* Scratch resistant lens.
* Unbeatable Clarity!
****Disadvantages*****
*Can only be used in daylight and outdoors
*Price
****Where can these be bought****
* Jessops - £9.99

Want an underwater camera?
Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: None
...This was the second Canon camera I have owned, the first being the A60. I picked up the A60 with the underwater housing after struggling to master a 35mm underwater camera. It paid for itself very quickly in the sense there were no developing costs involved. The A60 done the job well but I wanted a little more zoom and whatever so I started looking again.
The A70 has the same button layout and is the identical size therefore fits the same underwater housing, this alone saved me about £150.00 on buying a new housing.
I had the A70 for about two years and took thousands of photos both in air and under water. It has been compared to cameras of much higher value and with greater megapixals and came out on top for picture quality.
Ease of use is paramount to me - I know very little about the tech. side of photography - using the Auto...
