...This Sebo upright vacuum cleaner was purchased because I was looking for an efficient easy to use cleaner that was good on carpets and that I could also use on the stairs and upholstery. The Sebo was recommended to me by the staff in the department store as being suitable for use in a household where some of the family have asthma. The cleaner has special filters that are more effective than standard and also has paper bag that is easy to change without the dust that it has collected becoming airborne in the trip to the dustbin. Sebo X1 vaccum cleaner.

Advantages: Great vaccum cleaner, picks up EVERYTHING
Disadvantages: can be a little heavy, wiring can be stripped easily.

...I have a part time job as a cleaner whilst I am studying at university and this is the vacuum I use. I can't tell you where to buy it or how much it costs to buy or maintain since I just don't know but I can give an honest opinion of it since I have used this for over 2 years now. This vacuum will pick up anything. At home I have a Dyson which most people think are great- SEBO is out of its league! In the place I work people bring in a lot of dirt on shoes, sand and sometimes guide dog hair and I have never had a problem with any of this. I have never had the brush stick with hair which is a particular problem with my Dyson. The vacuum glides across the floor when on and I have no problems with it. I am however young and male and I feel that those who are older and (without being sexist) girls may find it quite heavy to use...

Probably the vest vacuum cleaner I have ever used.

Advantages: Picks up everything
Disadvantages: Extending hose could be longer, but you can purchase an extension.

...I was fed up buying new vacuum cleaners almost every 18 months. I tried both Hoover and Exlectrolux and am not impressed by either! I have used a Dyson and whilst it seemed good at the time, after using my Sebo, a Dyson seems mediocre! The Sebo x1.1 is sort of flat packed when delivered and must be assembled before use. There are only 4 major parts and with concise instruction supplied, is very easy to put together. Once done, just pop in a bag and you are good to go. Yes, this cleaner uses bags and thank goodness I say. The bagless cleaners I have used have been very poor - what dust they expel! I would say it probably takes me about three months to fill a bag and even when almost full, there is very little difference in suction power. ...slightly heavier than other machines, but this is because they're sturdy, good quality, well built machines that go on forever. The only downside is that the Sebo is an upright, so if storage is an issue for you you might want to consider a smaller vacuum cleaner. There's not a lot more you can say about the Sebo other than. It is a robust vacuum cleaner that does a better job than any other vacuum cleaner we've owned previously. I recommend the Seb x4Extra highly and believe it to be worth the little extra price. Sebo Vaccum

...After years of thinking that Dysons were the only vaccum cleaners to own I finally gave up on them & bought this Sebo and I haven't looked back since. Excellent on polypropane carpets if you own animals especially those that shed alot of hair. Easy to use if you are taller than average no bending backs and the bag is still not full after 2 months of daily cleaning after 2 boys, 2 medium dogs & 3 cats. Nice long lead so you dont have to keep unplugging it when you move about the house. The only thing I would suggest is purchasing the extension hose if you have stairs as the one supplied is a little short. I love this vaccum and I would never buy another dyson!! But I would buy another Sebo....

reliable cleaner

Advantages: good overall cleaning
Disadvantages: not easy to get clog out if stuck between brushes and main hose

It will even lie 'flat' on the floor which means I can, just, get the hoover under my sons bed without having to pull it out which is great - proabably an advantage should you have 'high standing' furniture too. I have quite long hair and I find loose stray hairs repeatedly get wrapped around the brushes but it is easy to sort when the brush is 'clogged' - just press a button, take out the brush and disentangle/cut the debris off. The suction is strong - its amazing what I have sucked up and not necessarily wanted to! But beware sweet wrappers as they can get stuck on the way past the brushes and up the hose and then are hard to get out - my friend made me a 'hook' using an old metal coat hanger, it works a treat! I work in Primary school and even discovered that they use sebos there -I'm sure you can imagine the carpets after...

Damn good Hoover . . .

...Right, those members remembering Hoover Juniors, will know they are a bog standard little vaccuum, correct so far. What has changed is the design, gone is the functional practical austere look, this is the new Doctor Who of cleaners. This is the new improved "Hoover with attitude" It looks modern, stylish even, and I dare say designers have been briefed to give it a sort of "In your face image". While I have absolutely nothing against the idea of a household appliance being trendy, or even cool, I just think that we should keep out feet on the ground. "It is only a vaccuum cleaner" nothing more, nothing less. Weight is only 3.8 Kgs, very light for this type of appliance. Availability is good, you will find them everywhere. As for the price, do not pay more than £35, this seems an enormous amount of money to me, but...

...young teen took to it easily, always a good thing!! It has one year guarantee, with an extra 4 years on parts, but you pay labour (has to be repaired by Hoover at Hoover prices). They also offer you 4 years labour insurance at about £180, to be arranged within 30 days. What I like best is the big drum size, quick 15 minute wash, very high spin, and fact that the drum is quite high so loading isn't such a strain on the back. The porthole is very wide and the door opens wide, although not to a full 180. All in all I think it was a sound buy. I paid £359 from a local dealer including delivery and installation and taking away all packing. I could have probably got it cheaper from a big online store but I like to support local firms and knew they would give a trustworthy service as I have bought from them before. A Little Hoover for Little housekeepers

...ones can do all the spots you miss as not only does this Hoover have its own wheels it has its own suction system which is battery powered. Unfortunately the suction system is not as powerful as I had first hoped and is almost non existent but it makes a noise which my daughter likes so therefore is suits me. There is a little container at the back which can be emptied should your little ones manage to suck anything up. The Hoover is made for children 3 and up but my daughter is 1 and she loves it. I don't really know why there is an age limit because there are no small parts, it is very lightweight and easy to use, absolutely no cause for concern. There is a rubber 'wire' which is retractable like a real Hoover. If inside the Hoover this really could not cause any problems but I suppose if left un ravelled it could get caught up...
