'I can see for miles and miles...'

...A recent trip to Wales resulted in several trips to the many castles that exist, one of which was Harlech Castle. Although now in ruins (well it is seven hundred years old!), it is an imposing sight, situated, as it is, on the top of a hill overlooking the sea. And, providing that the weather isn't too dreadful, there is plenty to see and do. Location Harlech Castle can be found in the centre of Harlech town, a small coastal town in Wales, not too far away from Portmadog. You can't miss the castle - it stands out a mile - but careful watching for road signs is necessary to find the way to the entrance. The town itself is geared up for tourists, in that there are plenty of places to eat and shops selling souvenirs - however, there is little in the way of other shops. Gr8t Mile

Advantages: Story, Acting, Soundtrack
Disadvantages: Not for those that do not like hip-hop/rap

Advantages: Rap Battles
Disadvantages: Uninteresting plot and characters

...If hearing Eminem's voice on numerous radio stations and music television channels wasn't enough, director Curtis Hanson decided to create the rags-to-riches Hip-Hop musical 8 Mile to exhaust all mainstream possibilities and tell the world how great the white rapper is. I don't really hate Eminem: Admittedly, I did enjoy some of the tracks on The Marshall Mathers LP (which I regard as the height of his career as a music artist). It's just that anything he has done since then seems like an excuse to make Hip-Hop more acceptable to a commercial audience. Gone are the days of him wanting to "Kill You": He now prefers to dress up as a superhero for the video of "Without Me", declaring himself as the saviour of popular music. After all, a white face at the forefront of the culture means more money for the A & R offices of the music industry...

This film was directed by Joe Nussbaum. Running time of the movie is 97 minutes. The unrated version lasts for 102 minutes. The film is about Steve Stiffler's cousin Erik. For those of you who have not seen an American Pie film ; Stiffler is the 'mad/wild/rude' character in the first three American Pies. So this movie focuses on Stiffler's cousin who is nothing at all like Stiffler , and so he feels under pressure to live up to his 'cousin's' wild ways. ...Never before have I seen a film that has done the book justice. The Green Mile was adapted from the book with the same title written by Stephen King. Because I had read the book first, quite some time ago, I wasn`t expecting it to be that good even though I`d read some great reviews about it. Death row is known as the long mile, but because this row had green flooring it was named the green mile. The leading actors in this film are Tom Hanks who plays the character Paul Edgecomb, Michael Clarke Duncan( John Coffey), Sam Rockwell ( Wild Bill), Michael Jeter (Edward Delacroix), Doug Hutchinson (Percy Wetmore), and David Morse (Brutus"brutal"Howel). John Coffey, the very lovable, gigantic black man, is sentenced to death row for the murder of two little girls. This was the only character who was not as I pictured him in my mind...

...Introduction ~~ Based on the Stephen King novel the Green Mile and directed by Frank Darabont the Green Mile is the finest film of 1999 in my opinion. Though despite it still being an excellent film it doesn’t quite match up to the book and I would recommend that you see the book before the film. It is within the walls of Coal Mountain Louisiana State Penitentiary's death which the prison guards nickname the Green Mile that the majority of the story takes place. **Please don’t read the bottom bit of the opinion if you haven’t seen it as it may spoil it! Story ~~ The story is told almost entirely in flashback form with a few modern-day sequences where we see Paul Edgecomb as an elderly man. The telling of the story in flashback form works well as it matches the structure the Stephen King novel used...
