Never Thought Fishing Would Be So Much Fun

Advantages: Extremely Addictuve, Great Graphics
Disadvantages: Needs the rod to experiance the full potential

...Sega Bass fishing is a brilliant game for the dreamcast, although it is expensive, it is extremely addictive, it doesn?t take very long to complete, unless you try for the championship, and it only has three levels, plus a secret level, the best thing about buying this game is the fishing rod, the game seems boring when heard of through speech, but when you play it with the rod, it is great, without the rod, it isn?t anything special. The rod vibrate, and only costs £15-£20 at Whsmiths, overall, only worth it if the rod is purchased....

Advantages: Good Graphics, Easy to get into.The Rod is cool

...You would know the gag if you have played the game. If you hook a big fish and land it, the commentator decides to lose all control of himself and screeches "ITS HUGE!" at the top of his voice. So what is this game all about? Surely you cant make an arcade game about a passive pastime like fishing can you? Well you can and its quite good. You select whether you want to go match fishing or just practice. If you go for match play, you have to make a minimum weight limit before the time is up. It is quite easy to start with but gets progressively harder. You can select where you fish. you can go up to fish in the lake or even up at some form of gateways and locks on the pond! you also get to choose what you want to lure the fish with. Will big billy bass want to nibble on a floater today or perhaps a spinner? How about a plug...

Pro bass fishing gives you just 4 lakes to choose from, offers no competition option and whilst it is meant to be a simulation where you make your own mistakes it literally tells you everything you need to know to catch the fish, so whats the bloody point in playing? You are dunked on your choice of lake in your boat armed with a selection of rods, baits and lures and an overhead radar which tells you where fish are. Follow the radar to the location of the black splodge marking a fish, select rod and bait and then cast your hook. ...when i first played sega bass i did not know what to expect from a game that is based on an industry that i have never really liked. i was pleasently suprised to begin with, i was 'hooked.' but as the first week drew to a close i began to get bored with the game as the repetitive aspect of poor a game began to kick in. it was fun for a while but after that, nothing interested me about it at all. on the rare occasion that the disc is put into my machine now, it is only because a friend wants to have alaugh with the rod. the graphics are good and it plays well but it gets to boring and repetitive too quickly...

It's a Double Bass daddio!

...It's difficult to buy a double bass in the simple way you might buy a good quality electric guitar or electric bass . For a guitar you can sort of decide if you're Fender, Gibson, Gretsch etc type of person by seeing what you're favourite players use on the telly and then trying them out in any good guitar store. But for the double bass we're in different territory all together and different rules apply. If you try out the bass in a store or room that is stuffed with other double basses or even other wooden acoustic instruments its going to resonate a little in each of those instruments and lead you into believing you have a lovely sounding bass when you probably haven't. ...You see what people do not realise, when they write a review is how original a game is, and is it playable. I was invited to my friends house, nearly a year now, and he had Sega bass fishing, i thought to myself, this guys actually bought a fishing game he`s nuts, and i even told him that, i also used to see it in the arcades and always avoided it, it did look amazing with the fishing rod, but, how sad can you get playing a fishing game. Anyway, my friend told me just try it first, (a bit like Doctor Pepper) i thought might as well, with some strange fishing rod in my hand, i began to play, to my utter amazement it was absolutely astonishing, i just would`nt stop playing untill i get the biggest fish.
