It is because Sega?s executives have always made stupid, ill-informed decisions. Not so much mega any more.

Advantages: Took me back to my childhood. Made me appreciate the Xbox 360 more.
Disadvantages: Poor graphics and sound, far too dated.

Sega Mega-Drive II

Advantages: Pretty console, good games
Disadvantages: Highly priced games, couldn't handle 3D, very few games with save feature

...The Mega-Drive marked the beginning of the end of my social life. I got this, my first ever games console for Christmas in 1994 (is it really that long ago?) and whilst by today's standards its technologically ancient, it delivered a huge amount of simple fun. It must be said, the Mega-Drive II (same as the Mega-Drive, but smaller) is still one of the best looking consoles ever divised. A slick black colour, it was a nice size and everything you needed was right infront of you - power and reset buttons and a slot for the game cartridges. Simple and very accessible from the off. It was a 16-bit console, and because of the comparitive lack of power compared with today's 128-bit behemoth's, couldn't handle any 3D games. Advantages: Plenty of gore
Disadvantages: Similar fighting styles and end boss too easy to defeat

Theme Park - Mega Drive

Advantages: Create your own theme park man!!
Disadvantages: Can be a little hard at times and a little repititive

...boring. Also as with most sims, this was a one player only so your pals couldnt get involved, graphic however were good for its time. Bright and colourful But its a really good game and although i dont have my mega drive anymore, its available on most formats and a newer, updated version too where you can actually go on the rides to test them out! Theme Hospital is also worth a look if you like this which was the sequel and another fun management construction sim. Enjoy and live the dream!...

Having not played the previous version i was bought this version as a youngster and for a while was probably my favourite game on the mega drive. The story is very basic, you are tasked with retaining the golden axe from the dark guld, who you will meet at the end of the game. The game is quite a simple side scrolling hack em up beat em up set in fantasy medieval times where at the end of each level you met an end boss and battled til the death. Simple but effective!
