Self Absorbed
Advantages: fresh fruity scent, revitalises dry, damaged hair
Disadvantages: quite costly in comparison to other shampoos
...I'm a big fan of the Bed Head range by TIGI, and the self-absorbed shampoo (and conditioner) is not exception.
This set is for dry and damaged hair, boasting of 'mega nutrients' to energise hair. I have found that this leaves my slightly dry, coloured hair much softer and feeling hydrated. It leaves it with a silky shine and feeling much more manageable. It also reduces the appearance of those unsightly split ends
The shampoo itself is a light orange colour and has a really fruity smell, which lingers in your hair to give that just washed feel all day. Available in smaller bottles of 250ml (approx £6-7) and larger bottles of 750ml (£12-£15) it is really great as a present or just a treat for yourself. The packaging is also quite freah and modern, so looks great in your bathroom!
I would say that this product is good...

Zesty fruitanginess (Part II)
Advantages: Smells out of this world. Gives hair a healthy shine
Disadvantages: Expensive, not amazing at detangling.
...As mentioned in my last review I received a gift set of the Self Absorbed products from my boyfriend. This review is on the Self Absorbed conditioner.
SELF ABSORBED CONDITIONER
My mini 125ml bottle is exactly the same design and size as the shampoo - a clear plastic cylindrical bottle with a pop up nozzle for a cap (like a sports water bottle) which you can also unscrew to shake the very last bit out. The full size container is actually 250ml, a whole 100ml smaller than the full size shampoo which I presume is because we're supposed to use more shampoo than conditioner.
The nozzle is easy to pop up, even if you're in the shower. The conditioner is a kind of gooey-but-still-runny texture, more creamy than the shampoo, a slightly different colour, but still the same amazing orangy sharp scent. After using the matching shampoo I...

Zesty fruitanginess (Part I)
Advantages: Amazing fresh fruity smell, cleans well, leaves hair shiny when combined with conditioner
Disadvantages: Expensive, and not as great as other shampoos in the Bed Head range
...I own about half of the products from the Tigi Bed Head range now, so I guess it's only fair I share my experiences with the people of Ciao. I was given a tigi set as one of my Christmas presents from my boyfriend. The set included the Self Abosorbed shampoo, conditioner, and Maxxed Out hairspray. This review is on the Self Absorbed shampoo.
SELF ABSORBED SHAMPOO
Being a promotional sample size set, the bottle I have of this shampoo is smaller than full size but it keeps the same design - a clear plastic cylindrical bottle with a pop up nozzle for a cap (like a sports water bottle) which you can also unscrew to pour the very last bit out. The shampoo is a crazy orange colour.
The nozzle on the bottle is easy to pop up, even with wet hands, and the shampoo is not TOO hard to squeeze out - though it is admittedly a bit harder...

Self-tanning sensation..
Advantages: realistic colour!!!
Disadvantages: definitely the price
...I am always a bit sceptical about self-tanning products. I have tried about three of them so far and always ended up with very uneven strange orangey or dark brown colour. On one occasion it was sooo bad that I couldn’t wear a skirt for a week because whatever I tried I just couldn’t wash it off!!!
I have decided to give this product a chance after seeing it in every fashion magazine on the market.
First of all I have to say it is expensive!! I paid £29.95 for my 240ml instant self-tanning mouse at Harrods. I think the actual sun tanning lotion is a bit cheaper. The main difference between the mousse and the lotion is the time it takes to dry and the colour of the product. The mousse is much easier to use!
1) It is very easy to apply!!! So the product gets top marks just for that. The mousse itself already has...

Self-Injury and my life
Advantages: Self-injury is a coping (although negative) mechanism for many people
Disadvantages: Self-injury is a result of emotional distress
...This is a review which I originally wrote for Ciao when I first joined, updated in 2007, and I am now altering it for DooYoo and Ciao in the light of recent events.
This 'review' starts with my personal experiences of self-injury, and then moves on to talk a bit about my role as trustee for two self-injury charities. I will also give information about self-injury (and sources of further help and support), particularly focussing upon how to help someone that you know who self-injures.
My personal experience of self-injury
(possible TRIGGER warning - basically this means that it could be upsetting and might lead someone who already self-injures to feel that they want to hurt themselves)
Please bear in mind, this is MY personal story. While people who self-injure can share many things in common, this is my story...

Understanding the World of Self Employment
Advantages: Be your own boss, possibly work from home, take time off when needed
Disadvantages: You need to dedicate a lot of time to the business.Tax can also be complicated
...I have been self employed now for one and a half years. Within that time I have experienced both the highs and the lows that come with working for yourself.
Whilst it may seem like a dream to be your own boss; starting work when you want, finishing when you want and never answering to anybody but yourself - unfortunately there are also many downsides that come with self employment.
I am 23 years old. I have no finance background (maths was always my worst subject). I worked in a supermarket before I took the plunge and I had no business experience whatsoever. If I can do it, then so can you! However, it isn't always easy doing it alone and I definitely wish I'd have had more information available to me when I started out. So if you are thinking about becoming self employed, read on to find out whether it is definitely the right...

My viewpoint on low self esteem
Advantages: I guess you could argue it leads to sympathy which some might like to seek
Disadvantages: Pretty much everything
...- Introduction -
This is a subject I randomly decided I would attempt to review based on my own feelings and experience. The whole 'member advice' side of it, im not entirely confident about but I will try my best to include what I feel is the best advice to give to people trying to help either themselves or others who may be trying to add to their self esteem.
So, lets start with an explanation of the term itself and go from there...
- What is self esteem? -
Self esteem is, very basically, or certainly by my understanding, how you feel about yourself. If you have high self esteem, then you feel particularly confident and proud or happy with who you are and where you are in life, in general. You'll be better at standing up for yourself and to push yourself to try more new things, that sort of thing whereas if you have low...

The best self tan around? I beg to disagree!
Advantages: Easy to see where you're applying it, quick drying.
Disadvantages: Obvious FAKE tan, messy application, too expensive.
...I bought St Tropez Self Tan Lotion, after reading many reviews swearing that it was the best self tan product they had ever used. I was excited that finally, I might be able to have a natural, flawless tan instead of a patchy orange disappointment.
St Tropez Self Tan Lotion turned out to produce the latter result.
I shaved my legs the day before, exfoliated in the morning (especially my knees, wrists, hands, ankles, feet), moisturised about 3 hours before, and then applied the product using gloves and mixing with a small amount of moisturiser around my ankles, knees, feet, elbows, wrists, hands. It took a long time to apply, because even though I could see where I was putting it, the self tan didn't seem to want to stay on, I didn't even rub it in, but it started clumping together and then drying leaving some of that area white...

OIL ABSORBING SHEETS NOT
Advantages: ABSORBS OIL
Disadvantages: OIL COMES BACK SOON AFTERWARDS
...I have really oily skin. In the summer my skin is even oilier, especially by mid-afternoon. For me this is the worst part of the day, because not only does the shine of my oily skin make people notice you. But the oil makes your pores look huge. YUK!
Over the years I’ve used many beauty products to stop the oil. Anti-Shine powders, soaps and creams.
I received a free sample of Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing sheets, in one of my magazines.
So I thought I would give them a go. Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing sheets promise to move oil without the use of powder, which usually clog pores. They also promise not to smudge make-up.
The oil-absorbing sheets are thin and blue and made of a material like paper but its stretchy and flexible. The sheets are really thin and ended up taking two pieces out instead of one. So I went...
