Self Catering? I think not!

Advantages: Location, gardens, peace
Disadvantages: Kitchen or rather lack of it!

...lucky. My main problem with the set up was the so called self catering facilities. In between the bedroom and the lounge was a sink, draining board, two cooker rings a fridge and a cupboard. Ok so maybe I have been spoiled by staying in villas with full kitchens, but this was 'something else'! There was no room to make a snack, let alone cook. It wasn't too much of a problem as we intended to eat out, but even making toast in the morning was a nightmare. The worst thing was (I can't blame the Floriana for this) was there was a dreadful storm on our last night and we didn't think we would be able to get out, I am sure we would have starved if we had not braved the weather! If you treat the apartment as somewhere to rest and sleep it is great I seriously doubt that anyone could manage to cook meals in that tiny space. Still...

Self Absorbed

Advantages: fresh fruity scent, revitalises dry, damaged hair
Disadvantages: quite costly in comparison to other shampoos

...I'm a big fan of the Bed Head range by TIGI, and the self-absorbed shampoo (and conditioner) is not exception. This set is for dry and damaged hair, boasting of 'mega nutrients' to energise hair. I have found that this leaves my slightly dry, coloured hair much softer and feeling hydrated. It leaves it with a silky shine and feeling much more manageable. It also reduces the appearance of those unsightly split ends The shampoo itself is a light orange colour and has a really fruity smell, which lingers in your hair to give that just washed feel all day. Available in smaller bottles of 250ml (approx £6-7) and larger bottles of 750ml (£12-£15) it is really great as a present or just a treat for yourself. The packaging is also quite freah and modern, so looks great in your bathroom! I would say that this product is good...

...I know that peole tend to panic when catering for vegetarians and even more for vegans so I have decided to list my easiest and tastiest vegan recipes to help you: All recipies serve 2. MUSHROOM RISSOTTO 1 onion 1 clove garlic (optional) 3 large flat mushrooms or equivilant (do not use button or economy mushrooms as these do not have enough flavour) 100g rice vegetarian oxo cube sun dried tomato paste salt pepper Fry the onion and garlic until the onion is glossy and see through. Add the mushrooms and fry until they start to brown. Add the rice. fry for a few minutes then add enough boiling water to cover the rice. Crumble in the oxo cube and keep adding water until the rice is fully cooked (about 30 mins). Once the rice is tender add a few teaspoons of tomato paste and salt and pepper to taste. MACARONI...

A luxurious hidden gem tucked away in a quiet corner of Jersey!

Advantages: Luxurious, great location and definitely a company I would recommend for your stay in Jersey!
Disadvantages: It rained the whole time! But you can't have everything I guess!

They are so much more up close! Situated in St Brelades, which has it's own quiet bay, restaurants and shops. This small little privately owned combination of apartments and houses, all self catering is tucked back of the main road, with parking. The house was finished to a high standard, with all the latest mod cons. The house we rented had four bedrooms, all of which had shower/bath to each. It was spread over three floors. The location was quiet and just a few hundred feet from the beach. We had Marks & Spencers locally for shopping and Pizza Express, a Chinese, Fish & Chips and other restaurants locally. Though not excellent I have had a good time living in the flat with both bad and good points, so before you make a decision on whether self-catering is the way to go listen to what I have to say and weigh up what’s best for you.
